PP762 Thanksgiving Blessings

Happy Sunday, peeps! I am the hostess at the Paper Players this week and we have a "thankful" theme:

I pulled out a really old set called Gift Givers, because I just love this little turkey:

I stamped the image in Pecan Pie and used some Blends to color him in, then punched him out with a matching punch.  I added frames of leaves and acorns from the retired Thankful Forest Friends and diecut a few leaves to tuck in around the sides.  It all went on some plaid paper that was gifted to me by a friend:

I added another strip of the paper on the inside, a leftover leaf, and a sentiment from Honey Bee:

I hope you can find someone to be thankful for this week and play in our challenge!  Be sure to enter it at the Paper Players blog and while you're there, check out what the DT created as well!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP711 Grateful Hearts

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Time for a new Paper Players challenge, and the talented Joanne is our hostess with a seasonal color challenge for us:

Isn't that a lovely prompt?  One of the cards we made with the retirement ladies used a sweet little pumpkin image from Colorado Craft, so I decided to use that for my card, along with a couple of my favorite fall embossing folders!  Here we go:

I used the sketch from FMS:

My embossed panels of Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie were sponged with Pecan Pie ink and embellished with a Basic Beige ribbon.  The Basic Beige tag was embossed with a Fall Leaf Background embossing folder, then I added my Pumpkin Pie stamped and diecut image on top.  I added an orange glimmer bow and some orange sequins to jazz it up a bit:

I mounted everything on a Cajun Craze card base and stamped a sentiment from Thankful Forest Friends on the inside:

Orange is one of my favorite colors, so this challenge was right up my alley! I hope you'll play along with our fallish colors---and even if you don't choose a fall theme, I am sure you can come up with a creative alternative!  Share it with us at the Players and you may be our Headliner!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP615 Happy 90th Birthday

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Time for a new Paper Players challenge, where Anne Marie has a Tic-Tac-Toe grid for us, since it's the fifth Sunday!  Check it out:

My dad's cousin is turning ninety and a special celebration is on tap for him, so I thought I'd use the center column of die-cut, texture and birthday as my tic-tac-toe!  And here we go:

I had a little scrap of the Rings of Love DSP in my stash, so I started with that, adding a mat of Soft Suede and mounting on a Cinnamon Cider card base that was embossed with the Timber embossing folder.  I stamped the bear from Thankful Forest Friends and fussy-cut him out, then stamped the border on a diecut piece of Basic White.  I added a sentiment and numbers as well as a few metallic elements and it was done!

Added a quick little sentiment on the inside:

I hope you'll play along with us and our tic-tac-toe grid this week!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Share it with us at the Paper Players, and check out what the design team created as well!

Thursday night the town where Cassidy takes karate lessons had their annual Halloween parade, and her karate class participated:

AYSI277 Belated Speed Stamping

Yay, happy Friday, peeps!  Time for a new As You See It challenge...the exciting SPEED stamping challenge!  I almost missed that part, hah!

Luckily, I had already chosen a fairly simple design since my stamping time this summer is bit more limited!  I couldn't find many belated birthday stamps in my vast stash, but I did find this funny one in Birthday Wit, and I had a scrap of this cute woodland critters DSP hanging out on my desk, so here we go:

I stamped the sentiment and the bear from Thankful Forest Friends both on Very Vanilla cardstock in Early Espresso ink, then quickly fussy cut them out.  When I layered them on the card front, it looked a little sparse, so I cut out some wood circles from the opposite side of the DSP and quickly tucked them around the sentiment.  I barely made it at 9 minutes and 46 seconds!

I do think this bear is rather cute, though, even if his ears and paws are a challenge to cut around!

Hope you'll play along with our SPEED STAMPING challenge this week....remember, gather your supplies, get your design planned out in your head and GO!  See what you can create in ten minutes! You'll be surprised at what you can create!  Then share it with us at As You See It!

Cassidy has been battling a terrible summer cold, poor thing! She felt well enough to throw the frisbee around with Grampy one afternoon:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB191 Beary Hello

Hi stampers!  Time for a fun, new Inspired By Challenge!  Check out these cute prompts:

SO fun!  And here's our optional sketch to use with the prompts, or alone:

Since my posts the last couple days have been Christmas-themed, I decided I'd better do a fall one....this would be good for a birthday or just a "thinking of you" card!  Here we go:

I only have one little bear in all my stamp repertoire...or at least that I can remember!  I didn't have any polar bears either, so I pulled out Thankful Forest Friends, some leafy papers and the wreath from Seasonal Swirls dies and went to work!  I diecut three wreaths:  Crumb Cake, Cinnamon Cider and Bumblebee, then colored some of the leaves on each one and layered them together:

I stamped and fussy-cut Mr Bear on Crumb Cake with Cinnamon Cider ink and layered him on top with a fussy-cut sentiment from Right at Home, a Pumpkin Pie grosgrain bow and some sequins from my stash.  I also sponged the edges of my leafy paper to give it some warmth!  I think Mr Bear is pretty happy being part of this fall decor!!!  I am going to enter this at the Inspiration Station challenge as well...here's their prompt, and I was inspired by all the leaves!

And also by Little Red Wagon's "Wreath for All Seasons" Challenge!

I hope you'll find some inspiration from our photos and are ready to play along! Check out what the DT created at the Inspired By blog as well!  Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy's first try at chopsticks!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB156 Beary Warm Wishes

Happy Thursday, everyone!  We're back at Inspired By with this uber-sweet little bear...doesn't he look stylish?

I began by pulling out an old SU set called Thankful Forest Friends and stamping the little bear in Smoky Slate ink; here's how he ended up:

I added some little "fur" lines with a marker and fussy-cut him out. The background is some retired DSP on which I stamped a sprinkling of little Smoky Slate and Memento Black winter hats, hand-drawing the ribbing; I even stuck one on top of Mr. Bear's head:

I added an old Whippersnapper sentiment atop a Basic Gray panel that was embossed with a retired Sweater Knit embossing folder:

And added a sentiment from Rustic Retreat on the inside:

I think this is such a sweet, fun inspiration photo, I hope you'll play along!  I have several birthday cards to make, and this one is at the top of my list!  Can't wait to see how you interpret our prompt this week!  Be sure to check out what the other DT members created as well!  Hop on over to the Inspired Blog to see! Thanks for popping in today!

I wanted to share a picture of some cookies my niece Kelly made for Christmas....they were gorgeous and tasted delicious to boot!  Lots of detail and PAINTING with edible paint!! She is the Martha Stewart of the family, hands down!  They definitely contributed to my holiday weight gain, LOL!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP414 Colors of Fall

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess and I was happy to see these fall hues in her challenge palette:

I have lots of leafy stamps, but in the end, I chose a retired set called Thankful Forest Friends, along with the current Flourishing Phrases and Buffalo Check, to create my thankful fall card today:

I stamped my sentiment on a piece of Very Vanilla in Cajun Craze, and although it's hard to see, I stamped the wood image from Rooted in Nature first (it was inked in Sahara Sand, then stamped off).  I stamped the leafy parts of the stamp again in the challenge colors on scraps of VV, then fussy-cut them out and adhered them to the image:

I cut out three leaves from Flourishing Phrases and cut them out as well, because I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

My final touches were to diecut the sentiment with a stitched die and add a scallop of Crushed Curry, then to layer it on a panel of Mossy Meadow, stamped with the Buffalo Check background stamp!  I love the homey feel of this!  And since it's a "thankful" card, I am also entering it in the Little Red Wagon challenge of Thankful for You!

Hope you will play with our challenge this week!  Check out what the DT did for even more inspiration:

No Cassidy pictures this weekend, but I do have a few pictures from the last couple days...John and I went to the Annapolis Boat Show with friends, who then took us to National Harbor, which is south of Washington, DC. I had never even heard of it, but it's a nice waterfront area with lots of fun shops and restaurants.  The day of the boat show, we finally had SUNSHINE!  We saw LOTS of boats:

We took a water taxi to another marina to see some more boats, and there were tables and a little Shasta trailer made into a bar, so we took a little break:

It was so nice to bask in the warm sun!  I'll show some more pix later!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

GDP123 Congratulations for Sawyer

Hi peeps!  It's Wednesday, halfway through the week!  My nephew (the same one who did our remodel) and his wife had their baby yesterday, a little brother for Jameson!  I loved our As You See It sketch for his week:

so I thought I would use it again, this time flipping it so my little critters weren't staring off into space on the other side of the card:

I opted to do something a little different than a traditional blue card; my nephew is an avid outdoorsman, so I thought these little forest creatures from Thankful Forest Friends would be fun:

The plaid paper is from Carta Bella's Christmas Delivery but it works great here, don't you think?  I stamped each of the critters and fussy-cut them out, then added some black grosgrain ribbon and a few little enamel dots.  The congrats stamp is from  last year's Suite Sentiments.  The Global Design Project's challenge theme is "New Beginnings", so I am entering there as well:

And here are the happy parents:

We are thrilled to welcome Sawyer into our family!  You can't tell from here, but he looks just like his big brother!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
