HSS398 Stitched Up Birthday

Happy Saturday, peeps!  A quick little card using a few stamps that haven't seen the light of day for a while!  I started with the sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments:

And here we go:

I stamped the Knit Together background stamp on Pale Papaya cardstock in matching ink, and the knit image and sentiment from Sugar Pea was stamped in Versafine ink and watercolored with Pale Papaya and Calypso Coral inks:

I did a little embossing on my Crumb Cake mat, highlighting it with a sponge dauber and some white craft ink just so it would stand out a bit.  Here's the inside:

And it's in the mail, ready to go!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Fusion Nest of Eggs

Happy Saturday, peeps!  And happy SPRING, if you're in the Northern hemisphere!!  I am so glad to know that we might be able to sweep away that chilly weather soon!  And speaking of spring, I have a sweet little springy Easter card for you today; it uses both the sketch AND photo prompt from Fusion:

My friend Martha gave me some Easter egg dies a long time ago and I think this is the first I've used them:

I couldn't find any gingham DSP in my stash that suited me, so I printed some out on my computer!  The sentiment is from W+9, stamped in Memento Black and diecut with a die from Tasteful Labels dies.  I wanted to add a black border around it, but there is only one die in the set with that shape, so I cut two and adhered them together to create a mat:

My "nest" of eggs features eggs cut from Rococo Rose, Naturals White, Soft Seafoam, Soft Sky and Crumb Cake; I sponged them and speckled them with Crumb Cake and Memento Black ink.  I "gathered" them together with a bit of Braided Linen Trim!  This is actually a remake of this card:

I decided I didn't like the pink striped background, so I disassembled it and used the gingham paper instead!  I am also entering this in the Inspire.Create Anything Goes challenge, and the Sugar Pea Mix It Up challenge:

Thanks for visiting today---be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

I used the colors from Fab Friday:

I also used the sketch from Just Add Ink, and am adding it to the Krafty Chicks' CAS Challenge!

PP493 Tic Tac Toe Friend to Friend

Hello peeps!  Happy Sunday!  Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess this week with a tic-tac-toe grid!  Here we go:

I chose the middle column of girly, die cut and friendship, but I also got flowers, silver and embossing in there too!!  I used the Mix It Up challenge from Sugar Pea Designs for my colors:

And here we go:

I'm still on the fence about this card...or maybe I should I should say I'm still straddling the bike!  I wanted to use the sketch, but my Technique Tuesday bike was too big, so I had to modify it a bit!  I stamped the bike in Pacific Point ink using my Stamparatus, then went back and used a Basic Black marker to color the tires, seat and handlebars.  I stamped the basket in Crumb Cake and added some wee little flowers cut from a sheet of Best Dressed DSP.  I added some silver embossing on the sentiment, some silver brads, and mounted it on a Blueberry Bushel scalloped mat:

The background is Granny Apple Green gingham and cardstock, stamped with a teeny little flower from a past Paper Pumpkin kit,  with a little Smoky Slate diecut trim and a little slip of silvery ribbon to add to the silver embossing!  And since I had a sliver of the gingham left over, I added it to the back of my sentiment, stamped in Smoky Slate, for the inside:

This is already out in the mail to a special friend!  I hope our Tic Tac Toe grid will inspire you to create something fun!  Be sure to share it over at the Paper Players and make sure you stop by to see what the design team has created as well!

IB27 Vintage Linens

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I trust you had a great 4th of July holiday, if you braved the heat and humidity like we had in Pennsylvania!  Hey, it's summer, right?!  Laurel has a sweet little "Vintage Linens" challenge for us this week at Inspired By; here's my take on it!  Our sponsor this week is Sugar Pea Designs (and there are PRIZES!!!), and the set I used was Lovely Leaves.  It's more of a fall/Thanksgiving set, but as you can see, it can be used for other seasons as well:

And here is Laurel's prompt:

I've used the colors of Pacific Point, Poppy Parade, Call Me Clover and Soft Seafoam for my card today.  The card base is Soft Seafoam, and I added a piece of lined paper in Poppy Parade (from the first time SU offered it), under a piece of Delightfully Detailed Laser Specialty paper that I carefully brayered with Pacific Point ink.

I have found two tips to be helpful with these laser-cut papers:  One is to cut apart the pages that have the smaller designs on them and store them in a cello bag or envelope; it is much easier to do them all at one time!  Two, I use a spray adhesive like Elmer's on the back of the paper for quick adhering.  I just take it outside, give it a quick spray on a scrap of newspaper and you're all set to go!

I adhered my brayered layer on top of the DSP, then stamped and cut out some leaves, added a paper button, and layered them all on a Poppy Parade panel that I stamped and heat embossed with some berries:

I used a MFT die to cut a tag, stamped the sentiment with my Stamparatus, then added a little embellishment in Poppy Parade.  My final step was to add some cross-stitch embossing on the edge of the tag!

I hope you'll share your vintage linen-inspired creation with us at Inspired By this week!  You can use the linens, the colors or maybe the florals!  Get creative and see you there!

Cassidy missed my nephew's 4th of July picnic, but there were plenty of other nieces and nephews (his wife comes from a large family!!) and lots of food, fun and a few little fireworks as well:

Piper and Bradon had fun with sparklers, while the dads let off some very interesting smoke bombs:

There were even some small ground fireworks, not too loud and intimidating for the wee ones!  It was a lovely day!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Paper Players 362 Clean and Simple Harvest

Happy Sunday, everyone!  I am the hostess over at the Paper Players, and I've chosen a harvest theme for our Clean and Simple challenge:

Isn't Nance's prompt so pretty?  I bought this Our Daily Bread Designs stamps at a stamp show last summer, and this is the first time I've inked it up!  I thought it would be ideal for today's challenge:

I stamped it on a diecut panel of Very Vanilla in Cajun Craze ink and added a tiny bit of shading with some Crumb Cake ink.  I added a simple layer behind it, some Crumb Cake ribbon and stamped a sentiment from My Creative Time on the front in Chocolate Chip ink.  The inside uses a sentiment from Sweet Pea Designs:

Simple and easy!  And since it uses a stamp I purchased last July, I am submitting it to the RetroRubber challenge 71 this week of Anything Goes!

I hope you'll play along with our harvest challenge this week!  Be sure to check out the cute samples the Paper Player designers created too!  You can see them all HERE.

The fam went out to dinner a couple weeks ago and Cassidy wanted to sit next to Wayne.  When they both ordered the same thing, she declared they were "soup twinsies"!!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Scrappy Fall Card

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Wow, how can it be the middle of the week already?!  I still haven't been able to check out any challenges this week...we are in the middle of painting walls, so that is good, but it doesn't leave much time for crafting!  SO....I whipped up this card pretty quickly using some scraps from yesterday's card...do you recognize that plaid and the Old Olive?!

I used a Sugar Pea set to stamp some leaves on the Old Olive circle, layering it behind the plaid circle.  Since these papers were 6x6, I always have leftover strips, so I took some from the same Echo Park's Fall Is In the Air and Photoplay's Autumn Day pads to create some banners and pumpkins!  I sponged the edges to give the pumpkins some depth and added a baker's twine bow:

Aren't the prints on the banners cute?  I also stamped "friend" from a Paper Pumpkin set a few months back:

I mounted everything on a Sahara Sand card base that was embossed with a Darice Fall Leaf Background embossing folder.  The inside has more leaves and a sentiment from the same Sugar Pea set:

Another fall card for my stash!!

I couldn't hold out any longer, I just had to share my favorite photo from the wedding; some of you might have seen it on Facebook already.  This was right at the beginning of the wedding; she was peeking around Wayne and Dana to see the two little loves of her life, Mason and Eric.  I will definitely be printing this one out!

Have a wonderful day and be blessed!

Paper Players 325 Bethlehem

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Boy, winter has descended upon us here in SE PA for sure!  Brrrr!  We will have to bundle up for church and an open house we are attending today!  Jaydee is our hostess for today's Paper Players challenge...and it is a beautiful one!

I've been fighting a wee bit of a cold and if I had felt better, I might have re-done my card; it's not bad but the idea in my head didn't quite match the execution!   But time is crunched so I am "letting it go", as the song from Frozen reminds me!  Here we go:

I won a gift certificate from Sugar Pea Designs and the first thing that jumped in my cart was this beautiful Bethlehem scene die!  I cut it out from some (retired) Brushed Silver cardstock and mounted it on a white base that was stamped with the stars from Christmas Pines and gold-embossed with a sentiment from Papertrey's O Holy Night:

The die also has this sweet little star, so I cut it from some Brushed Gold cardstock, but I added some additional shimmer with a Wink of Stella pen.....SO pretty!

The final touch was to add some gold twine at the bottom!

I hope you'll find time in your busy schedules to play with our last challenge of 2016!  How can that be?  It's also time to say goodbye to our Guest Designers; I personally have enjoyed creating with them immensely! Be sure to stop by the PP blog to see their final creations as well as the regular DT's creations, and give them all some love!

I bought this little wooden Nativity scene at Goodwill last year after Christmas (a great bargain) and Cassidy was excited to play with it:

She got out all her other "little people" and their accessories, and built a corral for the animals:

and now they're one big happy family:

Truly the spirit of Christmas!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SPDMIU21 and HSS250

Hi peeps!  It's Thursday, and on the downhill slide to the weekend!  I saw a very pretty color combo at Hand Stamped Sentiments, so I combined it with the sketch only from Sugar Pea Designs:

21-2

I have barely touched Best Birds OR Dapper Denim since I got them, so I was determined to give them a workout!  So here we go:

I stamped the background circle with the floral image from Awesomely Artistic, then stamped my bird on heavyweight white cardstock in Dapper Denim and diecut it with the Birds and Blooms die.  I usually use a blender pen when coloring images that are not stamped with Stazon, but I used an aquapainter this time and was pleasantly surprised that there was very little bleeding of the ink; just a wee bit, but I love the effect:

I stamped the ferns from both Awesomely Artistic and Butterfly Basics on the card behind the circle in Emerald Envy and Mint Macaron, then added the sentiment banner, also from Butterfly Basics.  A couple of flowers and sequins finished it off.  And here's the inside:

Now, to get this in the mail to a special someone!

Halloween night our church had a Trunk or Treat, where we decorated the trunks of our cars and had families walk around the parking lot and go trick-or-treating.  It was the first time we'd ever done one, and it was a lot of fun!  One young man works for a farm where they host events; these straw critters were part of the decor for one event and were left behind, so he snagged them for his "trunk"!

Cassidy had already done her trick-or-treating over the weekend, so she had a "modified" zombie prom queen costume (it was COLD) and was over-the-top excited to be the one GIVING candy out! She made sure every trick-or-treater had plenty for their bags! She has such a generous heart!

Enjoy your day and thanks for popping in today!
