AYSI351 Hello Sunshine

Happy Friday, everyone!  The weekend is upon us, yay!  It's time for a new As You See It challenge, too, and we have some fun, summery colors for you:

My original idea for this card featured something totally different, but it just wasn't doing it for me, so I decided to go in a different direction altogether:

I made a big juicy slice of watermelon with my colors, doesn't it look yummy?  I used the ice cream drip from Sweet Ice Cream for the "seeds", and a few tendrils from the Patterned Pumpkins dies.  I added some Peach Pie flowers and mounted it all on a Basic White mat that was embossed with the Eyelet embossing folder:

My sentiment is from the retired Sunny Splash:

And for the life of me, I couldn't get my photo program to capture the Peach Pie base, so you'll just have to use your imagination!  The sentiment is from Sunny Sentiments, also retired:

Just looking at this watermelon almost makes me feel a bit cooler!  I hope you'll play along with our fun colors...check out what the DT created at the As You See It blog!  Thanks for visiting! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI276 Sunny Lemonade

Happy Friday, peeps!  Happy weekend!  Time for a new As You See It challenge, and I love this one!  Check it out:

Normally, I would have gone for COFFEE, but that refreshing picture challenged me to go for something different!  Although I have lamented that I have almost NO fruit stamps, I did find a lemon one in the pile of stamps my friend gifted me!  So here we go:

I used the retired Jar of Love stamp set to create my "glass" and some vellum to create the lemonade.  You can't see it in the photo, but after coloring the back of the vellum with a Blend, I covered the front with Wink of Stella!  It looks so "refreshing"!  I added a straw from Jar of Flowers and the lemon is from an old SAB set called A Happy Thing.  I fussy cut it out after coloring it with some reinkers, then adhered it to a plaid DSP background:

And since nothing is sunnier than a pretty yellow lemon and some fresh lemonade, I added a sentiment from the retired Sunny Sentiments:

This was a fun card to create!  I am going to leave the inside blank and when the occasion arises to use it, I'll stamp something then!  And I am going to enter this in the current Krafty Chicks challenge, which is to stamp something!

I hope you'll find something that inspires you this week when you peruse our challenge photo!  Remember, it doesn't have to be lemonade, it can be any beverage!  The design team has some really fun, cute samples, so be sure to check them out at the AYSI blog, then share yours as well!  Thanks for visiting today!

Fusion Peach Birthday

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I somehow missed the Fusion challenge when it came up, and when I saw all that peachiness, I knew I had to squeeze in a card!  I actually used both the sketch and the photo inspiration:

I loved the peach hues with the tans!  I pulled out Hand-Penned Petals, which I hadn't used for a while, along with Sunny Sentiments and some Pale Papaya and Crumb Cake inks and came up with this:

The bottom DSP is Hand-Penned, and I diecut the sentiment with a Tasteful Labels die and backed it with another Ornate Frames die cut from Crumb Cake cardstock.  After stamping and diecutting the florals, I added a couple of Crumb Cake "sprigs" from the Nature's Thoughts dies.  I embossed the top portion of the card with the Tasteful Textile EF.  My final addition was a couple of pieces of burlap ribbon:

Light and delicate but with a touch of fall!  Thanks for popping in today!

We had pizza with the kids last night and since it such a beautiful, cool fall evening, John put a fire in the chimeria and roasted some marshmallows!  Disclaimer:  this is an ember, not a burning marshmallow!

I was bundled up in a sweatshirt with my hood up and here's how Cassidy was dressed!  Kids!

Thanks for popping in today...enjoy it and be blessed!

PP553 Sunny Thoughts

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Claire is our amazing hostess this week at the Paper Players and she has a fun color challenge for us all:

I thought the big bold colors in this palette called for some big bold elements!  The sketch at Fusion was fun:

And so here we go:

Stitchery is one of the first sets I ordered from the new catalog and I was having a bit of a problem figuring out how to use it!  But I loved how it looked here decorating these panels!  I stamped some of the stitches on the Old Olive and Real Red panels with matching ink, then stamped a sentiment from Sunny Sentiments.  The bee is from a retired set called Every Little Bit, and he was stamped and colored, then fussy-cut and popped up.  I even did a little "bee trail" with a Black marker!

The final embellishment was the addition of some epoxy dots on the sun for fun!

I hope you'll play along with our color challenge this week!  The design team has come up with some awesome samples, so be sure to stop by the Paper Players blog to take a peek, then share yours with us too!  Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy got a creative bug last week and asked Grampy to help her make something for her mom.  Grampy got his tools and some sort of MDF stuff and they made a little plaque:

Then we sketched out the design and she started the painting (excuse my messy table!!!):

Now you'll have to come back tomorrow for the finished product and Mommy's reaction!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Fun with Scraps

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a great weekend!  I spent a lot of time in my craft room yesterday as it was sweltering hot outside and I needed to make a bunch of cards!  No challenges, but I was able to use up some scraps that had been collecting on my desk!  Here we go:

Both these cards use pieces of Sweet Symmetry...such pretty papers!  I trimmed pieces to 1 1/8" x 3 1/4" and they fit perfectly on this Scalloped Contour diecut.  I added a sentiment from Sunny Sentiments and a few "Ritz cracker" flowers from Pierced Blooms:

I had a few more smaller pieces of the same cardstock, so I trimmed them down and added a Scalloped Contour "frame":

I diecut three "friend" pieces from Night of Navy using the Well-Written die, adhered them together and added some Shimmery Crystal Effects and a rhinestone for pizzazz:

You also might be able to see embossed polka dots on the base of the card; I used the Dots embossing folder from Checks & Dots; it's a smaller EF so it only embosses a partial section of the card, but I was able to re-position it to emboss the rest of the card, and it worked perfectly!  Thanks for popping in today!

My bird feeders are in my flower bed, so they're rather messy, LOL!  But there is an upside:

This particular plant has about 35 buds on it....I can't wait to see them all in the bloom!  Plus the finches love the seeds once they mature!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

"Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.  I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands."  Psalm 64:3-4

PP543 Happy Hello Tic Tac Toe

Hello, peeps!  It's my turn to be the hostess at the Paper Players and since it's a fifth Sunday, we have a tic-tac-toe grid for you!  There are lots of possibilities here:

I chose the bottom row across of heat embossing, DSP and white for my "happy hello" card today:

I heat embossed a floral image from Hand-Penned Petals with some gold embossing powder, then watercolored it to coordinate with the striped paper from You're A Peach:

I also heat-embossed a sentiment from Sunny Sentiments, then added a diecut border in some Gold Foil and some gold sequins from Sequins for Everything....they are cool because they don't have any holes in them!

I hope you'll find some inspiration from my tic-tac-toe board; be sure to check out what the DT created at the Paper Players blog, then play along with us!  You might be our Headliner next week!  Thanks for popping in today!
