Moody Mauve Warm Hello

Happy Thursday, everyone!  I finally got some of my new goodies from the upcoming catalog, and thought I would share one of the projects I worked on yesterday, just a quick little card!  I used the sketch from FMS:

along with images from the new Circle Sayings, the Countryside Blossoms embossing folder and the new In Color Moody Mauve, plus the retiring Stitchery:

I embossed a Moody Mauve circle with the embossing folder, then stamped the florals and sentiment on a piece of Very Vanilla and punched it out with the new 2 3/8" circle punch, adding a scallop behind it:

I stamped a couple of images from the Stitchery set to create my "ribbon" and made my own little button using the smallest heart die from Give it a Whirl, punching two wee little holes and threading through some Linen Thread.  Everything went on a panel of Very Vanilla that was embossed with the Timeworn Type embossing folder.  I haven't used Very Vanilla nearly enough lately and I think it goes nicely with the mauve!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Collage Sympathy

Happy Thursday, peeps.  Sadly, I needed a sympathy card this week and I felt the need to do some collage stamping, which I haven't done for a while!  I pulled out an Artistic Outpost stamp that hasn't seen very much ink, and some linen-printed CTMH paper and went to work:

The linen paper had a gray tone to it, so I randomly stamped all the background images from Birds of a Feather in Smoky Slate ink, then added the bird and the sentiment (Special Moments) in Versafine Onyx.  For fun, I added some Stitchery "bird tracks" along the edge in Smoky Slate and Basic Gray and a row of hearts diecut from Basic Black cardstock along the top.

It all went on a card base of Papertrey's Soft Stone cardstock.  I really wanted to add some ribbon or bling, but the recipient is kind of a plain-and-simple gal, so I left it as it was.  I added a Bible verse to the inside and it's ready to mail.  Thanks for popping in today..enjoy it and be blessed!

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.  For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.  And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.  Romans 8:28-30

RRCB187 Hope

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Time for a new Retro Rubber challenge, where we use stamps that are at least a year old or older---give those stamps some love!  Today we have a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge!  I am sure you'll be able to find something on the grid to inspire you!  Here it is:

Of course I chose the top row across of circles, birds and diecut!  The problem was what bird to choose!  I remembered this pretty CTMH paper called Skylark that I 've had for a couple of years, so I pulled it out and that was the base for my inspiration:

The quote is from a SU set called Friend to Friend (2004), and it was stamped on Very Vanilla in Lost Lagoon ink, then diecut with the Stylish Shapes dies and backed with a retired doily and another circle of Crumb Cake.  I stamped a few "stitched" around the outside edge with the Stitchery stamp (2021) and distressed the edges.  I added a little bird diecut and some organdy flowers that I've been hoarding for several years as well, LOL!  And you may be able to see a tiny little bit of the Young Vermillion stamp (2011) that I stamped in Soft Seafoam right up at the very top right hand corner of the DSP. All the rest of the images are part of the DSP itself.

I stamped the Vermillion again on the inside of my card with Versamark ink, and stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment (also from Friend to Friend) on the inside.

I haven't made a vintage-style card for a long time, so I was thrilled to be able to put some of these elements together to create one!  I hope you'll play with us at Retro Rubber this week too!  Remember to check out the date of those older stamps (Splitcoaststampers has galleries where you can find any SU set and its age) and tell us the approximate age!  See you there!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

TMS654 Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Hi peeps, happy Friday!  I have a quick, fun little card using the retiring Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and the Tuesday Morning Sketches sketch!  It features the Mackey family's FAVORITE ice cream flavor, mint chocolate chip!  I say the Mackey family because neither John nor Wayne like it...hahaha, more for us girls!  Anyway, here's the sketch:

And here's the card:

I started with a piece of Hand Penned DSP that features a stripey Mint Macaron design, and "stitched" the edges with the Stitchery zigzag stamp.  I stamped the ice cream in Mint Macaron and decided to add a  Soft Suede "chocolate" dip as well!  I added some chocolate chips, then punched them both out and set them atop a Crumb Cake cone!  They were all mounted in a Basic White circle diecut with a Stitched Shapes circle, then a mat of Early Espresso and scallop mat of Mint Macaron.  The sentiment was diecut with the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  I did add some Wink of Stella to the ice cream and sprinkled on some starry sequins:

I had cut apart the birthday sentiment a while ago because I like to be able to "stack" the words on top of each other instead of using them lengthwise.  The photopolymer stamps are easy to cut apart and just as easy to line up again if you want to use them in their original position!  I stamped these in Mint Macaron and it was done!  Thanks for popping in today!

And I am also entering this at Festive Friday, since I have food, birthday, punches and pastels in my card!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI266 Thinking of You

Hi there peeps!  It's FRIDAY!  Yay! As I was posting this card for our first challenge of the year for As You See It, I was looking out my window and it was gray and cold...so this card will JOLT you into brightness, LOL!  First, let's look at the challenge, which is a sketch:

The Flowering Rain Boots set is probably my favorite one from the mini catalog...I only wish my poor old rain boots looked as good as these!  For some reason, I was compelled to go bright with my boots and flowers---Poppy Parade is my color of choice today:

I just think those pretty tulips needed to be in a gorgeous shade of red!  I paired a couple of DSPs together, added a little stitched line down the center, then stamped and diecut my elements and adhered them to the card front:

My sentiments are both from Special Moments; this one I stamped on a Tailor Made Tag and added some Crinkled White Seam Binding ribbon:

and on the inside, I added a couple of little seed packets! So fun!

I hope you'll find some inspiration with my sketch today---check out what the DT created over at the AYSI blog, then share yours with us too!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

IB193 Joyful Christmas Friends

Hey there, stampers!  Time for a new Inspired By challenge!!!  Danni always has a knack for finding adorable inspirations for us!  Check these out:

Absolutely adorable!  And here's our optional sketch, which I did use this week:

Now how in the world could you choose between these two?  That little acorn was just so stinkin' cute, but I did go with the Christmas one in the end!!  I pulled out some real vintage sets from my stash and just started stampin'!

My main images are from SU's retired Jolly Bingo Bits; the background stamping is from several different sets from Cosmo Cricket (which I've had for years and don't think I've ever inked up!!!) and Purple Onion as well as the tiniest stamp set in my entire collection, the little red star, from Close to My Heart!

I did some stamping with one of the Stitchery stamps on the edges, added some black and white plaid DSP, and finished it off with a "joy" banner (Cosmo Cricket)and some Real Red braided trim:

The inside sentiment is also from Cosmo Cricket:

I had lots of fun creating this...a little busy (I seem to be saying that a lot lately) but still fun!  I hope you'll find some fall or holiday inspiration from our prompts this week!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Share it with us at Inspired By!

When my nephew and his family visited Montana, they stayed with a friend who happens to be a wildland firefighter!!  Jameson and Sawyer were thrilled to get into the big truck he uses on the job:

But Jameson might have to grow a little bit to fill up this helmet!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

PP561 Spookiness and a VERY Special Visitor

Hi there stampers!  Time for a new Paper Players challenge with Laurie as our hostess--here we go:

So many fun possibilities, just in time for Halloween!  I pulled out some spooky Tim Holtz patterned paper I've had for a long time and found a suitable stamp and went to work:

After stamping the image with Stazon ink, I colored in the moon, then did some sponging to give it the same hue as the patterned paper:

I added a fun little sentiment, "sewed" around the edges with the Stitchery stamp set and created a couple little stars to embellish the tag:

Finally, I stamped this fun sentiment on the inside and diecut it with an Ornate Tag die:

I hope you'll play along with us this week with our fun "spooky" challenge...be sure to share it with us at the Paper Players blog, and while you're there, check out what the other designers have created!  Thanks for popping in today!

So THIS happened yesterday:

My sweet stamping friend Michele from I Card Everyone drove ELEVEN HOURS from Michigan with her patient hubby Tom to visit me at my yard sale in Pennsylvania, LOL!  I saw a couple walk into the garage and begin to talk to John in a secretive manner; I had a customer but I was keeping my eye on them!!  Suddenly, the woman turned around and walked to me and my jaw dropped!  What a surprise!  We had a lovely day---they went to Longwood while we did our yard sale---then we went out to dinner and chatted away!  I can't begin to tell you how special I felt!  THANKS, MICHELE!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP553 Sunny Thoughts

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Claire is our amazing hostess this week at the Paper Players and she has a fun color challenge for us all:

I thought the big bold colors in this palette called for some big bold elements!  The sketch at Fusion was fun:

And so here we go:

Stitchery is one of the first sets I ordered from the new catalog and I was having a bit of a problem figuring out how to use it!  But I loved how it looked here decorating these panels!  I stamped some of the stitches on the Old Olive and Real Red panels with matching ink, then stamped a sentiment from Sunny Sentiments.  The bee is from a retired set called Every Little Bit, and he was stamped and colored, then fussy-cut and popped up.  I even did a little "bee trail" with a Black marker!

The final embellishment was the addition of some epoxy dots on the sun for fun!

I hope you'll play along with our color challenge this week!  The design team has come up with some awesome samples, so be sure to stop by the Paper Players blog to take a peek, then share yours with us too!  Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy got a creative bug last week and asked Grampy to help her make something for her mom.  Grampy got his tools and some sort of MDF stuff and they made a little plaque:

Then we sketched out the design and she started the painting (excuse my messy table!!!):

Now you'll have to come back tomorrow for the finished product and Mommy's reaction!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB178 Dad's Meal For The 4th

Hi peeps, happy Thursday!  Our Inspired By photo inspiration is a fun one!  Check it out:

And here's our optional sketch, which is what I used for my card today!

I chose to make a 4th of July card, using the red, white & blue wording in the photo as an inspiration as well!  I pulled out a retired SU set and stamped two of the images in Misty Moonlight and Real Red, then did some fussy cutting and gluing:

I pieced together the red and blue images, diecut them with a stitched square die, and added some banners and stars:

I stamped and diecut a banner from the retired set Number of Years and added a diecut "4"':

I mounted everything on a piece of Real Red DSP, and for some extra fun, I added some "stitching" along each edge, using the new Stitchery set:

The design team has created some REALLY cute cards for this challenge....check them all out to see how they were inspired...you'll be surprised!  You can see them all at the Inspired By!  And by the way, the inspiration photo above?.....they're really cookies!  I made some once; they're a little time consuming, but they're fun!  Here's a similar recipe:

Hamburger Cookies from tbsp.

Aren't they cute? Thanks for stopping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
