FMS697 Happy We Are Friends

Happy Thursday, everyone! My card today uses the sketch from my fun friend Linda at FMS:

I saw a very pretty card made by Wendy Weixler (you can see it HERE) and she used the Spring Corners bundle in a way I wouldn't have thought to! I don't have any of the yellow papers she used, so I opted to use a different color palette with Linda's sketch and used some florals and patterns from Floral Charm:

I diecut a panel of the DSP with the floral die, then sponged some Blackberry Bliss and Pecan Pie underneath.  After adding the sentiment, I really liked the grungy look Wendy achieved, so I stamped some speckles (and got a little carried away), then added my layers of DSP and cardstock.  THEN I decided to get really creative and try a new product called Metallic Textures Rub Ons.  These are very easy to use; they rub on just with your fingernail!  I may have gotten carried away with these gold speckles as well, LOL!  I will just consider this card an experiment!  Hopefully you can see a wee bit of the gold, it really does shine!

My final embellishment was a little Linen Thread bow, oh, and I did do some faux stitching along the bottom Basic Beige panel!  I can't wait to play some more with these rub-ons!

Thanks so much for popping in today!  We have company coming this weekend, but next week I want to share some of the pretty cards I got for my birthday!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Fun with Florals in Bloom

Happy Wednesday, all! I have had a busy couple of days and haven't had time to post a thing! So, no challenges today but I thought I'd share a few samples that I made for my customers to peruse; they use the pretty Florals in Bloom DSP and the Spring Corners stamp set...such a fun set!  So here we go!

I rarely use yellow, but I had scraps of this print which featured some yellow florals, so I cut them down to fit on some Perennial Postage dies, added a sentiment and backed it with a panel of Lemon Lolly Dotted Circles embossing!  It's so fun and cheerful!

I used the new Timid Tiger to match these pretty florals; I used a square die to create the sentiment for some interest:

This gatefold card also uses some orange-hued florals and another Timid Tiger panel.  This time I selectively embossed around the sentiment with the Eyelet embossing folder and added a ribbon to hold it closed:

And I stamped a couple of the florals in Peach Pie and Timid Tiger as an embellishment...aren't they sweet?

And finally, I created a couple little totes for my hostesses from the Notes & Totes bundle:

I used a piece of Adhesive Sheet to adhere the DSP to some cardstock to create them; it made them a bit sturdier, but also a bit more tricky to assemble!  But I like how it all coordinated! And it holds two chocolate candies, which is quite important!

Hopefully they loved them!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

You Make My Heart Smile

Happy Tuesday, peeps! No challenge today, but I have been playing with some of the new papers from the catalog that went live today!  Beautiful Gallery has some stunning artwork images as well as some vintage-style backgrounds.  This one uses my favorite blue and orange tones and I had to use it first!

The sentiment panel is the opposite side of the printed paper, and the sentiment is from  Layers of Beauty, stamped in the new In Color Secret Sea.  The little flower stamped on the arched panel is from Spring Corners:

The card base is another new color called Cloud Cover---LOVE it!  I love how this particular design looks like vintage fabric!  Now I need to make some samples with some of the other prints as well!  Thanks for visiting today!

Speaking of orange, I glanced out my craft room window last week and saw this orange fellow on my hummingbird feeder!  I knew they were around, as I had been hearing them, but it was a treat to see him so close!

We have had orioles at our hummingbird feeders before, but I never get tired of having them visit! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC626 Birthday Sketch

Happy Monday, peeps! Hope you had a nice weekend! It's time for a new Atlantic Hearts sketch:

I just love sketches with banners!  I used some old, new and current product to create my card for today:

Rather than stamp my focal point, I chose to use some new upcoming DSP called Florals in Bloom!  I diecut a circle, then added a circular mat of Cloud Cover.  The banners are some Petal Pink DSP and Shy Shamrock DSP, and it all went on a piece of Basic White, embossed with the Mini Corrugated embossing folder:

Both sentiments are from Spring Corners, and they are stamped in the new In Color, Secret Sea:

This is definitely a sketch I'll be using again! I hope you'll play with it too!  The AHSC blog is open now for you to share your creation!

We spent some time yesterday at my nephew's house celebrating Easter--fun time!  Maven was just adorable in her Easter dress, enjoying her lunch:

Playing around with Daddy outside:

And having a meltdown when Cassidy tried to hold her for a picture.  It was nap time!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Simple Shamrock

Happy gray and dreary Saturday, peeps!  Another rainy weekend here in SE PA! I have a quick card for you today; I don't send out St Patrick's Day cards, but it is fun to make a green-themed card for someone who might have a birthday on that day!  I am entering this at the Double D Challenges too:

The new Spring Corners die has a heart-shaped die, so I diecut three of them from Shy Shamrock, and stamped some of the dots from the set to create a shamrock.  I also made a stitched frame and mounted it all on a panel embossed with the Dotted Circles embossing folder:

A fun sentiment from Hooray for Surprises and a single pearl finished it off!  Quick and easy!  And thanks to Diane, who suggested I enter this in the Can You Handle the Pressure challenge!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI343 Punched Banners

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  The As You See It challenge from my friend Joanne is a speed challenge (keep it under 10 minutes) and she wants us to use punches!

I just got some new banner punches, and I had some scraps of Timeless Plaid that were 1" wide, so I gathered up my supplies and went to work:

I began with stamping a sentiment from the new Spring Corners on a Basic White card in Lost Lagoon ink.

Then I used the Happy Labels Pick a Punch to punch out my banners and layered them on my card. To embellish them I punched out a star using a small punch, then punched again around the opening with a larger punch to create an open star.  I added a little matte dot and it was done!

Because I had most of my supplies at hand, it only took me 4 minutes and 16 seconds to whip this up! I think this will make a great masculine birthday card!

Yesterday was a pretty momentous day for our family; a few months ago Cassidy asked Wayne if he would adopt her and he said yes! So we all went to court for the adoption proceedings and everything went well!

The little person on Cassidy's left is the judge! She even had heels on and was shorter than Cassidy!  She was very nice!

And with all the grandparents:

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

"But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.  Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, 'Abba, Father'. So you are no longer a slave, but God's child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir." Galatians 4:4-7

CASCS55 Happy We Are Friends

Happy Thursday, everyone! I am using a new stamp on my card today, it's called Spring Corners! I sometimes hesitate getting new stamps because I have so many already, but this one has sentiments going around the corner and I thought they were quite interesting!  My first foray is for the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge, which is a color challenge using hues I would not usually go to:

I chose the balloon image to create a friendship card:

I stamped, diecut and watercolored the balloons in the challenge colors, and although you can't see it, I added some Wink of Stella.  The sentiment was stamped in Berry Burst, and I used the new Textured Notes dies to cut out the Lemon Lime Twist DSP and Basic White layers:

My final addition was some Black & White Gingham ribbon!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SSC355 Happy Birthday Butterfly

Happy Monday, peeps!  After a very cold and windy weekend, it's a fairly nice Monday!  I had a little stamping time today to create a card using the Sunday Stamps sketch:

Ooh, I love all those layers!  I thought I'd play with some of the papers from the Serene Love DSP line, choosing some pretty Lost Lagoon patterns.  Here we go:

I layered the panels on Lost Lagoon cardstock; the center panel was a piece of Basic White I had floating around unused; it was embossed with the Distressed Tile embossing folder.  I added a butterfly from Sketched Butterflies and a sentiment from the new Spring Corners set.  The silver dots on the circle are from that set, too!

My inside sentiment is from Hugs for Love, and I messed it up, so I created some layers to hide my mistake:

I always need birthday cards, so this will go in my stash!  Thanks for popping in today!

Our church had a missions fundraiser on Saturday night and my nephew and his family attended.  Little Maven is now walking, although in this picture, her Pop Pop is giving her some giggles:

I noticed she had a couple little booboos on her forehead, nose and chin, and when I asked her mom about it, she told me Maven was walking in the yard and the wind was so strong, it knocked her over!!!  Wowza! She seemed no worse the wear, though!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
