How About Some Pumpkins?

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Well, my computer bit the dust today---just conked right out, and I am struggling with John's Mac until my new one arrives and gets set up! What an inconvenience! It took me a while just to figure out how to upload a photo!

Anyway, I had some of that shabby ribbon left over from yesterday's card, plus I have been moving around on my desk a stenciled panel I did a month or so ago, so I decided to put them together! It's not even for any challenge  But I must warn you, this fall stencil may make you feel a little cooler, LOL!  It was so cute, I ordered it even though it wasn't the right season!  So here we go:

The stencil is from Spellbinder's September 2024's Club of the Month, called Colorful Pumpkins.  I stenciled it on a Basic Beige panel using Cloud Cover, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Coastal Cabana and Early Espresso.  I added a sentiment from Paper Sweeties, stamped on a retired Tailor Made Tag.  I then added my shabby bow and some linen thread I picked up at a yard sale!

It all went on a pretty Cloud Cover base.  Until I get my computer set up, I don't have a way to add the "recipe" so bear with me and if you have any questions, just shoot me an email!  Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP682 Bunny Sketch

Hi there, stamping friends! Hope your weekend is going well so far....ours has been WET---what else is new? It always seems to rain on the weekend!  But that means no drought for the summer, right?  Anyway, I am the hostess at the Paper Players this week, and I have a sketch for you! This one is one of my favorites, and I use it often! I liked it so much, I made two! Check it out:

So here's my first one; I needed another Easter card, so I used some of those cute Impression Obsession bunny dies:

I used some Country Gingham circles, diecut with the Radiating Stitches dies, and an Our Daily Bread Designs sentiment; they're all mounted on a piece of CTMH Seabrook cardstock, embossed with the Cane Weave embossing folder.

My second one uses some stitched flower dies:

I gave each flower a couple of leaves and a glimmer paper center!  A simple sentiment from Spellbinders finished it off!

I hope this sketch inspires you to make something pretty and fun!  Check out what the other designers created at the Paper Players blog and share yours there too!

Before the torrential rains came yesterday, I had a chance to go to Longwood on Friday; the morning was sunny and bright, although cool!  They have a display of blue poppies, and although they were almost finished, there were still some pretty ones.  I have to admit that the photographers were out in full force...there wasn't much room for spectators like me, but I did manage to get a couple of shots:

Their color is so vibrant! I'll have some more photos of other flowers coming up this week!  Thanks for visiting! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Wish Upon A Star Birthday

Happy Saturday, peeps!  My card today is a little out of my norm, but I needed a card quickly and just sort of threw this together!  A sweet church friend is a dog lover....I mean a REAL dog lover, and her birthday is coming up.  The challenge at JUGS is to use stencils, and the Seize the Birthday challenge is to use red as the main color:

I pulled out the retired Happy Tails and its matching punch, some star stencils I received as a gift, and here is my quick card:

I remember experimenting with red inks on red cardstocks but I forget what I ended up thinking was the best color...this was Cherry Cobbler, and I don't really like the muddy effect it created, but I needed to get this in the mail, so I'll have to experiment again!  Anyway, I stamped my pup on Crumb Cake and punched him out:

The sentiment on the front of the card is a from Lawn Fawn's Upon a Star:

and on the inside, the sentiment is from Spellbinders, along with some paw prints from Happy Tails:

I hope she likes it!  And just to show you how special my friend is, she volunteers for an organization called Canine Partners for Life.  They train service dogs for people with disabilities and are seizure-prone, and besides the regular trainers, they use people like Sue who raise and foster puppies to be service dogs. They also use prisoners who train them as well.  It's a pretty cool setup! She brings her dogs to church and sometimes we can hear them as they are napping and dreaming, LOL!  Check it out at their website!

Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

TGIFC381 A Certain Someone's Birthday

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Wow, the weather has cooled off and the weekend is fabulous!  Hubby went fishing with a bunch of friends and relatives down in Maryland, so I have the whole day to do whatever I want!  Which is mostly stamp, LOL!  After picking beans!  Anyway, a certain someone is having a 12th birthday next week so I thought I'd get her card made and out of the way because we have some busy days coming up!  I used the sketch from TGIF:

and here we go!  Now, a disclaimer:  she doesn't like girly girly stuff and she prefers neutral colors and she LOVES playing on her XBox.  I have a set from Paper Smooches that features some computer-y stuff and there was a little controller in it, so that's where I started:

I stamped the controller in Memento Black and colored it in with some Copics, along with a silver gel pen, which you can't see!  I diecut it and popped it up on another circle of Papertrey's Honey Nut cardstock.  The background papers are from my stash and I have had them for ages!  And the letters are from a really, really old Sissix/Stampin Up die set called Timeless Type Alphabet Junior!  Anyone remember them?  I diecut them from Basic Black and adhered them to the banner.

I had some fun with the inside; I stamped a sentiment from a Spellbinder sentiment collection, then added the "12" in Bumblebee ink right over top:

Goodness, it's hard to believe she's going to be twelve!  We plan to go canoeing and/or tubing sometime next week for her birthday.  We did it last year and we really enjoyed it...hoping the day is clear and sunny!  Thanks for popping in today!

We've had lots of nature sightings around our home lately!  Here's a little chipmunk that lives under our shed and comes out to nibble on the birdseed that falls from the feeder above:

This little toad gave me a jump as I was picking beans!  He almost blended in with the dirt, but I spied him!

This little skipper decided he might want to go for a ride to the mailbox:

And Cassidy and her two little cousins came across this box turtle on Aunt Louise's driveway!  We haven't seen a box turtle in years!  Cassidy kindly helped it to the woods!

I just love nature!  Thanks for popping in today, enjoy it and be blessed!

RRCB130 Country Birthday Wishes

Hi stampers!  Time for a new Retro Rubber challenge where we give our older stamps (at least a year) some love!!  We've got a fabulous sketch for you this week:

Image may contain: text

I just LOVE this sketch---I love things in threes, so this was right up my alley!  I was perusing my vast selection of 6x6 papers and came across this pretty woodgrain paper in subtle shades, already cut to size!! Woohoo!  I mounted it on a Crumb Cake card base and went to work:

My main sentiment is from a 2016 SU set called Time of Year...I stamped it in Pretty Peacock and fussy cut it out:

I am thinking it might be a little too bold for these soft colors, but it's already done, LOL!  I added a little banner from the same woodgrain paper, and stamped "wishes" on it, then added some diecut stitched stars from the same paper pack below:

I added some silver metallic pearls just for fun!  My niece's birthday is coming up and she is all about country decor, so this will be for her!

How will you interpret this sketch?  The DT has some fun ideas, you need to hop on over to the Retro Rubber blog to check them out!  Remember, your stamps have to be at least a year old, and tell us the approximate age!  Almost every SU set can be found on Splitcoaststampers in the SU Gallery, if you need help!!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI205 Symphony of the Sea

Hey everyone, we made it to Friday!  It's wicked hot here in PA!  Are you staying cool?  We've got a cool theme for you this week at As You See It:

No photo description available.

I have LOTS of beach-themed stamps, so it was hard to choose which ones to use, but in the end, I went very, very simple and used a stamp from 100 Proof Press called Shell Plate 17. (My friend Colleen enabled me to get this, although she says I am her enabler, LOL!  You can see her card here.)  So here is mine:

I stamped my shell plate on a piece of Graphic 45 paper with Lost Lagoon ink and matted it with a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock, sponging the edges for a more rustic look.

For the card base, I chose another Graphic 45 paper and stamped some splatters from Gorgeous Grunge, a cheesecloth image from Cornish Heritage Farms, and a sentiment from Impression Obsession....isn't that a great sentiment?

This will be going to a special friend on her birthday, so I stamped some appropriate words from a Spellbinders stamp set on the inside; of course, I did not use my Stamparatus on the first go-round, so I messed it up and had to cover it with a stitched layer....lesson learned!  I also stamped a shell very lightly down in the corner.

Hope you'll play along with our beach-themed challenge this week!  It will make you feel like you're on vacation, even if you're not!

In keeping with the beaches theme, Cassidy and family are visiting Carolina Beach in NC...I just love this shot of her "riding the waves"!!!

Uh oh....do you see the shark?!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
