IB192 Who's Your Boo?

Hey there!  Happy you popped it today!  It's time for a new Inspired By challenge, and look at these cuties:

And here's our optional sketch; you can use it with a prompt or all by itself!

I was really, really tempted to make a Christmas card for today but I am still needing Halloween cards so I decided to challenge myself to make one with these unusual colors, (at least for Halloween), and with the sketch:

First, I made a stencil by diecutting a rectangle opening in a sheet of acetate; I used a Stitched Rectangle die, which puts "stitching" on both the inside and outside of the die, so I actually got a wee bit of stenciling through the stitched lines, LOL!  After filling in the stencil with Blushing Bride, Balmy Blue and Crumb Cake inks, I pulled out an old Halloween set called Spooky Bingo Bits and stamped three images on some scrap white and fussy-cut them out to layer on top of the stenciled areas. I gave each of them a little color with some Blends, too.  The stenciled areas looked a little plain, so I pulled out a retired Paper Pumpkin set and added some background images:

The big sentiment at the bottom was also from a Paper Pumpkin set, and to jazz it up a little, I added some sequins.  The inside sentiments are from Paper Pumpkin, Little Delights and Banner Year:

Definitely not your typical Halloween card but I love it!  Scary, but not TOO scary!  I hope you'll be inspired by our two prompts this week...it's always a blast seeing how everyone interprets them!  Share them with us over at Inspired By and you might be chose as a winner!

On my morning walk recently, I took a couple pictures of these wild morning glories....it amazes me that they are so hardy, they'll grow right in among the rocks!  They also grow in the corn fields...not such a good thing for the farmer!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AFC#186 Halloween Bingo

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I have a real quick card I actually made last week and is in the mail, but I never shared it!  The Always Fun Challenge this week is Halloween Fun, so here we go:

This card was so fun to make....it uses the retired Spooky Bingo Bits, which has lots of cute Halloween images!  I stamped them all in various colors, punched them out with a 1" punch, then placed them inside this cool stitched Multi Circle Window die from CTMH.

I added some sequins from my stash and mounted it all on a Granny Apple Green card base; here's the inside, with a sentiment from A Wish for Everything:

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI206 Speedy Boo

Hi everybody!  Woohoo, it's Friday, so happy to have the weekend ahead!  It's also As You See It challenge time, and here's one we haven't had for a while...SPEED stamping!

Image may contain: flower and text

The goal is to create a card in ten minutes, once you've gathered your supplies! I like that part of the challenge because I really tend to dawdle on my cards and it forces me to CONCENTRATE.  But....shades of purple, oh my goodness!!  The first thing that came to my mind was Halloween, so I pulled out Spooky Bingo Bits and SU's Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape and went to work:

I started out with a sketch from Sunday Stamps:

I used Gorgeous Grape DSP for my layers, and stamped my images with Highland Heather, punching them out with a circle punch.  The "BOO!" is from the Boo to You Framelits from a few years ago, and I accented it quickly with a single rhinestone.

At this point, I was at 7 minutes and 26 seconds, so I took another minute to stamp some sentiments from last year's Spooky Cat!  So I made it under the 10-minute mark!!

Phew!  I hope you'll challenge yourself to do some speed stamping in shades of purple and share your creation with us at At You See It!!  C'mon, you can do it!  Thanks for popping in today!

These silly pups Eden and Ginger are all decked out in their Eagle's outfits, ready for some fall football!  I just bought Cassidy an Eagles shirt.....but it's at my house, LOL!  She'll have to wear it the next time they get dressed up!  Enjoy your day nad be blessed!

TSOT239

DSCF2255

Hi everyone!  Halfway through the week, yippee!  I love the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday sketch this week…it has THREES!  Yay, threes are so fun!

My card is a wee bit smaller than a regular A2 card, it measures 3.75 x 5 inches because I had a piece of this fun ghosty paper already cut and that’s the size card that fit it best, LOL!  I pulled out an old Favorite, Spooky Bingo Bits and went to work:

The images are stamped in Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black and Smoky Slate, with a little accenting on the ghost with a blender pen!  I punched them out with a 1” square punch, then matted them with punchouts from my Postage Stamp punch.  I also punched a 1 1/4” circle and popped up the sentiment from the inside, cutting out a little ghost from the scrap piece:

and added a sentiment from And Many More on the inside!  Fun!

The team at TSOT would love to have you play along, either on their blog or on the Facebook page!  Hope to see you there!

Cassidy really enjoyed helping me decorate for Halloween!  Here she is putting the candy corn stake in the ground!  And she picked a couple more pumpkins for the porch!  Enjoy your day!

ColourQ 265

DSCF5897-001

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  As many of you might already know, I’ve decided to step down from the ColourQ!  It has been a FUN ride with Arielle and all the other designers!  I am grateful and honored that she asked me to part of her team!  I checked back and my first post was on March 30, 2010, and here is the card I made:

So now, fast forward to 2014, and here is the challenge we’ve got today:

and here is my card:

This is one of my favorite layouts, and I’ve used the retired Spooky Bingo Bits for my images, along with some new sets for the backgrounds!  I added a little doodad—glitter, sparkle, twine or sequin—to each one, then a trio of banners at the bottom:

And a fun sentiment on the inside:

I hope you’ll play along with us this week and squeeze in another few Halloween cards using these colors---or maybe you can come up with another theme!  Can’t wait to see what you create!

Speaking of scary things, I stepped away from Cassidy for just a few minutes while she was painting and came back to this:

If any of you with children have never read “A Bad Case of Stripes”, you should read it!  Cassidy told me she was Camilla Cream, the character in the book!  Needless to say, a bath was next on the agenda!  Enjoy your day!

Paper Players 166

DSCF8420
Happy Sunday, players!  Nance is our hostess today at the Paper Players and she has a fun Halloween challenge for us:
At my manager’s retreat recently, my sideline Pam Joel gifted us with a little Ghiradelli chocolate holder, which had been given to her by our upline, Pennie!  She gave me permission to share them with you, and I’ve made them into Halloween candy holders:

Spooky Bingo Bits is one of my favorite Halloween sets and I know it is retired, but it is still available through MDS!  So I am using it here today, along with some retired DP:

This one uses a hexagon from Six-Sided Sampler, along with some heat embossing and a scary bat!

This uses a big glimmer paper moon and a sentiment from Googly Ghouls:

And this uses some more heat embossing along with some googly eyes from last year’s Halloween kit:

And in here, you can see how the candy fits in:

Since this is picture-heavy, I will be sharing a quick tutorial on my blog on Wednesday, so be sure to come back!!!
And my little trio also uses the colors at the Fab Friday 28 challenge:
We picked out some pumpkins at our little local farm this past week:
