AHSC674 Easter Eggs

Happy Monday, all! Time for a new Atlantic Hearts Sketch:

I am still making Easter cards, and although I had a much simpler initial idea for this one, it morphed into something more, LOL!

I'm trying to use all my Easter stamps this year (haha) and the eggs from the Happy Eggs set from Simon Says Stamp hadn't seen any ink yet!  I stamped them in Balmy Blue, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Coaster Cabana, Granny Apple Green and Highland Heather, then cut them out with the matching dies.  I diecut strips of the same colors and mounted them within a cross-stitch border, then added a few more diecut embellishments:

I stamped the inside in Highland Heather with a set from Divinity Designs:

I am also entering this at the In(k)spire Me blog, where they're looking for Easter:

You can have a lot of fun with this sketch!  And I hope you'll play along! Check out all the designers' card at the Atlantic Hearts blog!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Hippity Hoppity

Hey peeps! I am in full-bore Easter-stamping mode with bunnies taking center stage again!  I got some new stamps and dies from my local Amish stamp store (I'll be sharing those later), but I dug into some of my stash of papers and stamps to create this cutie:

My papers are from Carta Bella's Gather at Home, along with a little Blushing Bride stitched tag from Impression Obsession.  The bunnies are also from IO, stamped in Crumb Cake and colored with a Pink Pirouette Blend and accented with Blushing Bride ribbon and twine:

I had a couple of already-cut banners from the Greetery, so on one, I stamped a sentiment from Simon Says Stamps' Happy Eggs.  The inside sentiment was also from that same set, along with a Christian sentiment from Divinity Designs:

I hope it's okay to mix secular and Christian!  Those bunnies are just too cute!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS723 Hippity Hoppity

Happy Thursday, peeps!  A quick little card today--moving on to Easter!  FMS has a sweet sketch this week:

I just broke open my Easter Joy specialty paper and there are so many cute patterns in there! One that really caught my eye was a monochromatic pattern in Shy Shamrock, which is a color I haven't used very much!  I paired it with an old Easter set called Basket Bunch! So here we go:

Mr Bunny was stamped in Shy Shamrock, as well as the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.  He his hopping against a cloud-embossed sky with his little Easter eggs:

Another sentiment from the same set went on the inside--love that simple font!

Thanks for "hopping" in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

JUGS807 Love U Sew Much

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Midweek is upon us!  I got a set of stencils before Christmas and I finally had a change to break them out, just in time for the latest JUGS challenge, which is stencils!

Since cross-stitching is right up there with stamping on my list of favorite hobbies, I couldn't resist getting this stencil from Spellbinders, and I matched them up with some sewing-related stamps I've had in my stash forEVER!  Here we go:

I am still learning about stenciling---what type of ink pads work better than others; what kind of blending tools to use, how much pressure is needed---it's definitely a learning experience.  For this card I used Pretty in Pink, Poppy Parade, Berry Burst, Basic Gray and Crushed Curry for my floss.  I stamped and diecut two hearts from Simon Says Stamp in Pretty in Pink and Strawberry Slush, then stamped a "hi" from Paper Smooches; that's where the button is from as well:

On the inside, some more images and a sentiment from the Paper Smooches set.  I thought this would make a fun Valentine!

I have vowed to NOT start any more cross-stitch projects this year until I actually finish some of the ones I've stitched over the last couple of years.  Framing is quite expensive and I find I don't really need any more little pillows, but that is probably what I'll end up doing with them!  Stay tuned! Hopefully I'll actually finish one and share it with you!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

CAS On Sunday 325 Let It Snow

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I have a quick, CAS card for the CAS on Sunday challenge, which is "snowman"!  I have lots of snowman images, but this Tim Holtz one is a wee bit more "vintage", and I haven't used it yet this season!  So here we go:

I stamped the snowman in Secret Sea ink, and added some snowflakes in Cloud Cover.  I made a smudge, so I added a couple of snowflake sequins.  The "Let it Snow" sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp, and the stitching around the edge is the retired Stitched With Whimsy die.

On the inside, a sentiment from the retired Christmas Pines, as are the snowflakes.

Fun, simple and easy! Thanks, CAS on Sunday, for a great challenge!  And thank you for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

KC799 Peace on Earth

Happy Friday, all! Yay, the weekend is upon us! I have a real quick card this morning, it used items that I had already laying on my desk, and so it came together in a jiffy!  The challenge at Krafty Chicks is CAS, so I am entering it there!

So here we go:

The snowflake background was diecut with the Waffleflower Dashed Snowflake Panel; the deer is from Papertrey, and the snowflake was a freebie from Waffleflower as well!  I used the Tiny Words Christmas for the front sentiment as well as the inside, and I also stamped a Christmas sentiment from Best Year along with it:

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!  Off to wrap some presents!

AYSI363 Peace Love Joy

Happy Friday, all!  Time for a new As You See It challenge, and it's an interesting color palette!  Here we go:

I am way behind on everything this Christmas!!!  But I did manage to make one more card using the colors and new die (Merry Christmas to me!)! What do you think? (Sorry for the poor picture quality---too many gray clouds these days!)

I used Michele's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

I cut the Spellbinders Barn Star from Mossy Meadow cardstock and added Pecan Pie pine cones and Mossy Meadow foliage (sponged with MM ink to make them darker).  It was mounted on a circle embossed with the Dotted Circles embossing folder.  Sentiment on the banner is from Simon Says Stamp's Tiny Words Christmas:

The inside sentiment is also from Simon Says Stamp, Christmas Blessings, stamped in Night of Navy:

I think these colors would be great for a masculine card as well!  I hope you'll play along with us at As You See It this week!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP767 Challenge from Jaydee

Happy Sunday, all!  Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess with a really fun theme challenge this week:

Hmmm...this is open to so many interpretations!  A gift on your card?  An actual gift you created?  How about a card that looks like a gift!  Here we go:

My inspiration came from the Double D Challenge this week:

Aren't those presents pretty?  I used some old and new products on my card today!  The base is Cherry Cobbler, the top layer is Crumb Cake embossed with a Waffleflower Sweet Plaid Texture die.  I added "ribbons" of paper from Unity, a bell from Lil' Inker (sadly no longer in business), some Tim Holtz Greenery, a shabby tag from Gummiapan, and that cute little bow is Simon Says Stamp! Phew!  Oh, and the sentiment on the tag is also from Simon Says Stamp!

I hope you can find some inspiration from the DT's samples on the Paper Players blog, then squeak in time between all your holiday preparations to play with us!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

IB363 Here Comes Santa

Happy Friday, peeps!  Hope you have a wonderful weekend planned! I have a sweet little Christmas card for you today; it happens to fit the Inspired By prompt this week!  Here's Laurel's inspiration:

I was inspired by the country colors as well as that wee, tiny little Santa hat that's on one of the napkin rings, LOL!  Here we go:

I started with a Mellow Moss card base, then added some pretty wreath-printed paper and a Crumb Cake banner.  I pulled out one of the stencils that I got last year and stenciled the Santa hat in Real Red and Craft White, and added a frayed burlap ribbon tie.  You can't see it, but I added some Wink of Stella to his hat as well!

A sentiment from Simon Says Stamp's Tiny Words Christmas fit on the banner perfectly!

Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Let It Snow

Happy Tuesday, all! I have a quick little card which is for two challenges!! The 52 Christmas Card Throwdown has a sketch for November, and Addicted to CAS wants to see a snowflake!

I recently got a pretty snowflake embossing folder, and last year at Christmas, I got a set of cute little holiday stencils from Amazon, so I put both to use:

I really wanted to add more layers, but I kept everything pretty simple; the embossed layer went on a Cloud Cover card base.  I stenciled the snowflake with the blue ink that was already on my blending brush--probably Misty Moonlight, but done very lightly!  I did add a Cloud Cover glimmer paper scallop behind it and a wee little sentiment banner, oh, and an iridescent gem:

Another tiny sentiment on the inside, stamped with Lost Lagoon:

Adding slowly but steadily to my Christmas stash!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.  For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit is contrary to the flesh.  They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.  Galatians 5:16-17

FMS710 Peace on Earth

Happy Saturday, peeps, happy November! The Halloween decorations come down and the Thanksgiving ones go up!  Meanwhile, I'm cranking out Christmas cards, although I am sure I'll be doing some turkey day ones sometime this month!

Linda had a very interesting sketch this week at FMS, and I paired it with the color palette at Hand Stamped Sentiments:

So here we go:

I started with a Pool Party card base, then added a layer of Secret Sea that I embossed with a starry embossing folder.  There was a challenge somewhere that wanted stars but for the life of me, I couldn't find it!  Anyway, I diecut three trees from white glimmer paper and mounted them on my snowy hills and added a wee tiny sentiment stamped in Cherry Cobbler and backed with some Cherry Cobbler glimmer paper.  The final addition were some sweet little Cherry Cobbler cardinals:

I added a simple sentiment on the inside and another Christmas card is added to my stash!  Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC652 Christmas Gnome

Happy Monday, peeps! Hope you had a good weekend!  It's time for a new sketch from Atlantic Hearts:

Since the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge this week was gnomes:

I pulled out an old stamp from Fun Stampers Journey and went to work:

I stamped Mr. Gnome in Stazon black and watercolored him, then gave him a tree and little heart, stamped in Soft Succulent on some retired CTMH papers:

I added a gingham border, a cute diecut sentiment and some glimmer glue dots; everything went on a sweet soft gray birch tree panel from Spellbinders:

A coordinating sentiment on the inside:

I hope you'll play with our AHSC sketch this week!  It's a fun one!  Check out what the designers did on our blog...it will feature them on Wednesday, but you can play now!  Thanks for visiting! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI354 Basket of Wishes

Happy Friday, everyone! Time for a new As You See It challenge and what a fun one it is:

I don't think we've ever done a picnic challenge, but I JUST got the perfect papers for it, and I pulled out a perfect stamp as well!  Here we go:

Papertrey had a fun set full of picnic baskets and coordinating sayings, so I pulled one out, inked it up with some Versafine ink and watercolored in my design.  I then diecut it with an Everyday Arches die and added a banner sentiment and a baker's twine bow:

I just receivevd some of these fun plaid papers from Scrapbook.com, so I put that layer on a Basic Beige card base and it's ready for my birthday stash!

I hope you'll play along with our picnic challenge this week too! Truthfully, there are lots of things you could stamp that are picnic related! Put on your thinking cap and come play along! You can see all the DT creations at the AYSI blog!

A few more birthday cards; this boatful of critters, which made both John and me laugh out loud, is from Sally:

No one beats Michele for florals....this is a stunner for sure:

And this one from my upline, Pennie, combines so many fun little elements into her CAS card:

Thanks, ladies, I love them all! Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
