TSTR265 Vintage Tree

Happy Friday, peeps!  I am happy to announce that our tree is finally up...not decorated, but it is up!  Decorating will commence tomorrow!  Meanwhile, since my sister received her Christmas gift, I can share it now!  I always like to make a little vintage treat for her...she appreciates my style and I have plumb run out of room to display things!  I pulled a little green wooden spool out of my stash, found some vintage goodies (pink and white glitter, sequins, green shabby seam binding, a bleached mini tree, some green sparkly trim) and went to work:

For the angel, I have a whole stash of Christmas cards from my aunt's house that are from the mid-50s....I scanned this one:

cropped it down, resized it, and cut out the angel.  I glittered up the tree and base and glued it to the spool, then added some sequins and a glimmer star and adhered my little angel:

I actually typed (on my old Smith Corona typewriter) the sentiment on a scrap of DSP and added some glitter on it as well, then tied some pale green seam binding around the spool and adhered the sentiment.  Here's a back view:

And here it is, displayed on my sister's tree (I think it looks cute here!):

and along with the other little goodies I've made for her over the years:

And imagine my surprise when I checked a few challenges yesterday!  Here's this week's Shabby Team Room Holiday Sparkle inspiration photo challenge:

So I'll be submitting my little spool for sure!  Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy loves coloring with my markers, but after I left my craft room for a few minutes a couple of days ago, I came back to find she had done this to her hair:

She's such a bundle of energy, I didn't even notice it until an hour or so later!  She also decorated her shirt ("I just wanted to see what it would look like!")....thankfully both washed out!  Enjoy your day!

MTS095, AYSI 109 and TSTR262

DSCF2487

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Got anything fun planned this weekend?  I am going to stay home and clean my stamp room…..it is a disaster area!  I squeezed in some stamping time late, late last night for these three challenges:

Match the Sketch:

and The Shabby Tea Room:

I saw a card made with this CTMH stamp recently and was lucky enough to snag one online, and it arrived in the mail yesterday, so I quickly inked it up!  I love these colors together; a recent issue of Better Homes & Gardens used these colors too, and even though I’ll never see a Lost Lagoon leaf in real life, I think they’re pretty here!

My little pumpkin is from Recollections, and the sentiment is from My Creative Time’s Mixed Holiday Sentiments.  I almost forgot that I had this pretty Lost Lagoon baker’s twine from SAB, so I added a piece to complement the stitched leaves from Lawn Fawn!

Such a fun subway art-style image!

We took a last trip to the local farm to pick up a few more pumpkins!

TSSC362, TSTR251 and RRCB13

DSCF9750-001

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I have a card for three challenges today!  The Technostamper sketch challenge; the Retro Rubber Anything Goes challenge,

RRCB13

and The Shabby Tea Room’s inspiration challenge:

Neither John nor I have our mothers any longer, but we are blessed to have the sweetest stepmother/stepmother-in-law ever!  So this is her Mother’s Day card:

I used some Graphic 45 papers and turned the sketch on its side to accommodate my pink bicycle; I stamped it (a retired image from Artistic Outpost’s A Lovely Day) in Pink Pirouette on Naturals White cardstock, then added some script from French Foliage in Sahara Sand:

I added some butterflies from a Clearly Besotted set called Good Times; the sentiment is from the same AO set, with a little addition from Endless Birthday Wishes, added some sequins, and I combined a few sets for the inside too:

Teeny Tiny Wishes, And Many More, Endless Birthday Wishes and the florals are from Clearly Besotted as well!  FUN and I know she will like this!

One of my customers started her Paper Pumpkin subscription this month, and sent me these pictures of the little boy for whom she nannies, getting into his stampin’ groove:

Alec just turned 4 in February, and look at what a great job he did!  Amazing!  Enjoy your day!

Victorian Christmas Stocking Card

DSCF6555

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Thank you so much for the sweet comments on the stocking I made for Cassidy!  I had to chuckle when I saw the “Waiting for Santa” challenge at The Shabby Tea Room:

More stockings!  I got out my stocking punch and went to work making a shabby stairstep card.  I had the base already cut for another unused project, so I just added some layers, a little stocking filled with greenery and embellished with pearls, and a sentiment tag:

The Kraft Journal’s current challenge is to use a tag on your card, so in addition to the little sentiment tag, I also made the stocking into a tag as well:

I added another layer to the back of the stocking, stamping “to” and “from” from the Festival of Trees set, and added some removable adhesive so it could be attached to the card.  Thanks for looking today!

During last week’s snow, Cassidy was really enjoying watching it cover the ground, and was quite excited to see the little sparrows taking shelter in our holly bushes!

What’s a few fingerprints on the windowpanes, right?!  They grow up so fast!

TSTR 205 Sympathy

DSCF0923

We lost a dear, dear friend on Tuesday; he battled cancer for over twelve years.  We visited him Tuesday afternoon and got the phone call a couple hours later that he was gone.  We were happy we were able to see him and know he is resting and whole once again in the arms of his Saviour!

My dear friend Lesley has a sketch at The Shabby Tea Room this week:

and I am always drawn to this peaceful image from Artistic Outpost for sympathy cards:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Sympathy Card Artistic Outpost

This is a pretty simple card, as Bill was a pretty straight-forward guy; he wouldn’t want any bells and whistles on his card!  The base is Sahara Sand; the image is stamped in Smoky Slate and the DPs are from Authentique.  I added a CHF Bible verse on the inside as well:

We will miss Bill, but we’ll see him again!

RS99 & TSTR203

DSCF0531

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  A quick little card today, unfortunately a sympathy card, using The Shabby Tea Room inspiration photo and a sketch from RetroSketches:

Isn’t that a cozy inspiration photo?  Love it!  And here we go:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Stampin Up Sympathy

My card base is 4 1/4”, Sahara Sand, with some MME Lost & Found Sunshine papers on which I did some stitching, then stamped some swirls, polka dots and butterflies.  My Tiny Teacup (ret SU) was also stamped in Sahara Sand ink and, channeling my inner Ann, embellished with lots of pearls!

DSCF0532

The sentiment was stamped in Soft Suede and is from Blessings from Heaven.  Thanks for popping in today!
