MTS100 Welcome Baby

DSCF3132
Happy Tuesday, everyone!  I had a wee bit of stamping time yesterday to make a baby card for John’s nephew and his wife, who welcomed little Zion into the world on Sunday morning!  How exciting for us all!  I was determined to use the Match the Sketch sketch, because it was intriguing to me:
I pulled out some fun papers from the scraps left of my MME’s Fly A Kite 6x6 pad, added them to a Crumb Cake base, embossed with stars:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Welcome Baby Stampin Up

and then diecut my circles and stars (Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes) with some scraps of Pear Pizzazz, Mint Macaron and some more MME papers!  The sentiment is a (really) old SU set called Short & Sweet, and the inside images and sentiment are from another old set called Small Sayings:

I can’t wait to see this wee little guy in person!!

Over the weekend, we got Cassidy a new single bed so she has a little more room in her bedroom!

We still have the old decorations and wallpaper….but she was so surprised and happy, and promptly began playing……

Paper Players 126

DSCF1562

Hi, everyone!  Time for another Paper Players challenge, with Ann  as our hostess and this clean and simple challenge:

You know I almost always forget the CAS part of this challenge, and I did remember this time, but it still sort of got away from me!!!  I had an idea in my head, and although it really is simple, I hope Ann will forgive me if it’s not the cleanest or simplest, LOL!

First, I needed a birthday card….just in time for Lesley’s new venture, Seize the Birthday!

I’m telling you….that girl is a bundle of energy!  But what a fun challenge blog it will be, and who doesn’t need more birthday cards?  And there is also a lovely color challenge at Create with Connie & Mary:

2012 Create Thursday-010

So I combined them all to make this “snowflakes in a jar” card!

PP126-LeAnne

I stamped the jar from Perfectly Preserved on my very last piece of window sheet in Black Stazon and used the die to cut out the jar from the front of my card.  I used some retired snowflake dies to cut snowflakes from the Champagne glimmer paper and adhered them inside, along with a sentiment from Petite Pairs, embossed in Gold Glory:

The jar lid as well as the smaller snowflakes are stamped in Gold Encore ink for extra shimmer!  Wouldn’t it be fun to catch some snowflakes in a jar?  For a final oomph, I sponged a little tiny bit of white craft ink on the outside of the jar and adhered some glitter for a frosty look!

I also heat embossed the birthday sentiment from Itty Bitty Banners and popped it up on a glimmer paper banner too!  I hope the recipient will enjoy it!!!

Now, what you YOU make with some snowflakes?  Even if you live down under, where it is WARM, it’s always fun to play with your snowflake stamps & dies….pull them out and get cracking!  Share them with us over at the Paper Players blog, so we can all enjoy their frosty goodness!  And make sure to check out the designers’ samples as well!!  And we are announcing our new Guest Designer team—woohoo!  What a fun process that was!  Lots of creativity coming your way in 2013!

I promised you a few more pictures from our cookie-decorating day, or maybe I should say cookie-UNdecorating day:

She was FASCINATED by sprinkles, and couldn’t wait to decorate her own special cookie:

DSCF1531

Can you tell which one it was?

DSCF1534

But I couldn’t get her to stop playing with it….

DSCF1533

She wanted to pick the decorations back off and eat them!!!  Oooops!

DSCF1532

How can you scold that face, though?!

Enjoy your day---hug your kids, your grandkids, your neighbors, your friends, your spouse…..life is precious!

Paper Players 95 & TSSC220

  DSCF0689-002

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!  I hope you have a wonderful, blessed day!  It’s time for another Paper Players challenge, this one a color challenge from Ann

Aren’t these happy, fun colors?!  I started out with one idea, made the card and then changed my mind!  Here’s my final creation:

PP95-LeAnne

This is a pretty simple card using a retiring set called Flight of the Butterfly….such a sweet set!  The background is stamped with Distressed Dots and the sentiment is from Short & Sweet.

 DSCF0691

I did some embossing on a couple of layers, and I used a square punch to punch out a couple little portions from the scallop to make my corner embellishments:

DSCF0688

The sketch is from Mary Jo at  Technostamper:

Now, here’s my original card:  a little over the top, but I did have fun using up some of my stash of brads, LOL!

DSCF0681

Just didn’t translate from my brain to paper quite the way I envisioned it!!!  Anyway, I hope you will find inspiration in these fun colors and share what you make with us over at the Paper Players blog….and be sure to leave some love for the designers, once you see their wonderful creations as well!

Here are a few pictures of Cassidy jumping in the “pubbles” in our driveway.  She was already filthy from helping my SIL with a shovel and mulch, so I figured there was no harm in her getting wet!  In the first picture, she’s looking at me as if to say, “Are you SURE it’s okay for me to do this?”!!!

Boy, was she angry when we had to go in!  Enjoy your day!

More Bright Blossoms

DSCF0404

I saw this card on Sandi MacIver’s blog and fell in love with it!  A really bright, cheerful creation!  In fact, all of Sandi’s creations are truly beautiful!  I set out to CASE it, just with a couple little changes, as I am trying to cut down on putting buttons on my cards so the postage isn’t so high!  The first one I made was for a dear friend who just lost her grandmother:

DSCF0338

I used Lucky Limeade and Island Indigo with a sentiment from Delightful Dozen.  Instead of buttons, I used the ruffled ribbon and added a little baker’s twine-tied bow.  When I cut the Summer Smooches Top Note piece in half, the other side was a cute red and white polka dot, so I made this:

DSCF0403

This one used Marina Mist, Real Red and Daffodil Delight inks; a sentiment from Short & Sweet, and some narrow grosgrain ribbon in Real Red.  Oooh, I just love this layout with these sweet bold images!  Thank you, Sandi, for such wonderful inspiration!

Uh oh, a little imp on the loose……climbing up stairs she’s not supposed to be climbing!

Retrosketches 4 & 3

Well, I am still having LiveWriter issues today but hopefully this will post through Blogger!  I am just not computer-savvy enough to figure out why things happen the way they do!  Anyhoo, I needed a quick thank-you card, and the RetroSketches sketch#4 was perfect to get me started:

And here is my card, done in monochromatic shades of Wisteria Wonder:

I used Butterfly Prints, Short & Sweet and Style Beautiful, along with a Label Framelit and Adorning Accent Embosslit.  Here's a closer view:

I also did a card for the RetroSketch #3, but never got a chance to post it:

I used one of Arielle's digital images, colored with Copics.  I don't have a picture of Cassidy to share today, but how about one of Pumpkin, sleeping in one of her favorite places.....a SU box!

Enjoy your day!
