SOS542 One Layer Thinking of You

Happy mid-week, peeps!  The Shopping our Stash challenge is to make a one-layer card!  We all love layers and layers, don't we?  Using just one sheet of cardstock seems just minimalistic!!  But I gave it a go:

I used Thick Very Vanilla cardstock for my base and used an acrylic block to create my background; I simply plonked the block on to the Crushed Curry inkpad and then used it as a stamp!  I am thinking I should have "stamped off" once to get a lighter shade, but I went with it.  I overstamped it with one of the scripts from Elements of Text in Crumb Cake, then stamped the floral image and bee from Queen Bee in Stazon Saddle Brown.

The sentiment is from Everyday Greetings.  I did add some speckles from the Elements of Text too:

I already have a recipient in mind for this card, so it will be in the mail tomorrow!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

I will remember your great deeds, Lord; I will recall the wonders you did in the past.  I will think about all that you have done; I will meditate of all your mighty acts.  Psalm 77:11-12

Ice Cream Birthday

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I needed a birthday card for a sweet little girl at church, so I combined three challenges to creat one for her!  It uses the sketch from Retro Rubber, the recipe from As You See It and the challenge to use three different DSPs at Shopping Our Stash:

I pulled out two retired sets, Sweet Ice Cream (2021) and Time of Year (2016):

It's hard to see here, but the ice cream, cone and sentiment are all embossed with clear embossing powder.  I used papers from Authentique for the ice cream and the background panel; the gingham tag is from Bo Bunny:

I added some sequins and a few glimmer paper stars for extra pop!  I wish you could see the shine on the embossed pieces, it looks really cool!  I hope she likes it!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

SOS536 Best Wishes Brother

Happy Thursday, peeps! My brother's birthday is coming up and the Shopping Our Stash challenge is asking for a winter themed card but not Christmas!  I used some plaid Christmas papers from Echo Park's The Magic of Christmas, along with a deer diecut and a Birch Wood-embossed piece of woodgrain paper for his birthday card:

My sentiment was a combination of an older Paper Pumpkin "Best Wishes" and a Fiskars "brother"; the pine cones and greenery were from W+9's Merry & Bright.  The deer diecut is from Paper Rose; finally I added some black adhesive brads to add a little zip!

Edited to add:  I am also going to enter this at the Inspired By challenge for this week as well:

Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Five Easy (Halloween) Pieces

Hello stamping friends!  Five Easy Pieces was the movie I saw on my first date.  I remember NOTHING about the movie, probably because I was so nervous about the date!  (I do remember the date himself, LOL!)  Anyway, recently I bought some jewelry from a sweet little online shop called Chadds Ford Jewelry, and it's only a few miles from me, but when the order came in, the owner included five little Halloween elements to get creative with! Of course, I had to make five cards and they were so easy, hence the title of my post!  I just pulled out some Halloween papers and stamps and here they are:

I'm not going to list the recipes for them, but if you have any questions, shoot me an email!  I am also going to choose one of them for the Shopping Our Stash Halloween challenge as well!  Hmmm, which one should I pick?  Which is your favorite?  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Vintage Bunny Decor

Happy Wednesday, peeps! I have a quick project today---no stamping---just some diecutting, fussy-paper-cutting and a little bit of layering to make a sweet little Easter decoration!  Check it out:

This isn't real big; it's only about 3 1/2" tall.  I used the largest Excellent Egg die to cut out some digital papers that I got from Crafty Secrets almost ten years ago!  I mounted the diecut egg on another  egg diecut, cut from some sturdy cardboard, then printed out an Easter postcard from the Graphics Fairy, scaled it to fit my egg and did some fussy-cutting of the bunnies and the sentiment, which is popped up:

I added a little crochet embellishment on the top and that was it!  I did create a little easel for the back so that it could stand up easily:

I am going to enter this at Inspire.Create, where they're looking for anything but a card, as well as Shopping Our Stash, which is looking for spring and/or Easter! And Little Red Wagon is looking for animals, so I am tossing it in the ring there as well!

Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Gratitude Changes Everything

Happy Friday, peeps! Yay, the weekend is here!  My card today is for the Shopping Our Stash challenge,  which features some gorgeous regal shades, and I used the sketch from Inspired By; the theme was adorable but I had been thinking about these images for a couple of days and the sketch fit, so I went with it!  Here are the prompts:

So my images aren't quite to scale like the sketch, but hopefully it will be okay! Here we go:

I stamped these Fall: Take Three Papertrey images in Old Olive, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie, then used a W+9 die to cut them out.  The sentiment is from a Right at Home set called Grateful Heart:

To give some interest to the Pretty Peacock background, I first stamped it with the retired Linen background stamp, then embosssed it with the Cane Weave embossing folder.  If you look closely, you can see the "weave".  I added a little Linen braid trim because in the photo, the rug and lamp are natural colored and I liked the contrast.  On the inside, a sentiment from the PTI set:

I think these rich jewel tones are just beautiful!  And I am going to pop this in over at the Time Out challenge  as well, as their theme is gratitude:

Thanks for visiting today!

A few more pictures from Longwood:

These are certainly jewel-toned as well!  Nature is beautiful!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SOS479 Another Fall Card

Happy Wednesday, peeps! I have another fall card for you today!  Shopping our Stash has an "ombre" challenge this week, and I had already begun to apply some color to a black and white piece of DSP from the Rustic Harvest when I saw the challenge, so I finished it up and here it is:

I must admit that this photo doesn't really catch the full effect of the blending; I started with Crushed Curry in the upper right hand corner, then blended Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and Real Red.  I created a banner with the Stylish Shapes dies and a sentiment from Eden's Garden, then embellished it with a little acorn from the retired Truly Grateful set, and a couple of copper Glimmer paper-punched oak leaves:

I added a birthday sentiment on the inside, so I'm all ready for my next fall birthday recipient!  Thanks for popping in today!

One of the activities that Dana & Wayne did while in Nashville was to create a poster at Hatch Show Print.  Hatch prints a lot of the posters for country western stars and other entertainment venues--how cool, right?!

So here's Dana beginning her poster:

And here's her finished product!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

RRCB170 Fall Flowers

Hi there!  Time for a new Retro Rubber challenge, where we give our older stamps some love!  Here's the photo prompt Jane has for us today....lots of possibilities on this one:

Since I just made a couple of pumpkin cards, I thought I'd concentrate on that bucket of flowers; I pulled out Basket of Wishes (2016) and Buffalo Check (2018) to make a sweet country-themed birthday card:

I stamped the basket on some Very Vanilla cardstock (which I should have known better to do, as my image warped a lot!) and stamped the design twice behind it, making it a wee bit higher because I wanted to stamp a third image and place it in front to give it some dimension.  All the flowers were colored with inks and an aquapainter. I fussy-cut the third image and popped it up to make the basket look nice and full:

I stamped a panel of Very Vanilla with Buffalo Check in Old Olive, added a piece of Cinnamon Cider DSP and a panel of Old Olive, diecut with a Stitched Shapes square die, then cut in half to make it into a rectangle!  I stamped a sentiment for the front:

and another for the inside, and my card was finished!

I am also going to enter this at the Double D Challenge this week, as their theme is sunflowers, and the Shopping Our Stash challenge, which is flowers!!

I am sure you'll be able to find some inspiration from our prompt this week...just be sure that your stamps are at least a year old, and be sure to tell us their age!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Check out what the other team members did over at Retro Rubber!

Pumpkin decorating the easy way---stickers and markers--no mess!!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning.  Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.  In him was life, and that life was the light of men.  The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood."  John 1:1-4

TTTC92 Glittery Snowman

Hi peeps!  Hope your Thanksgiving is going well!  Time for a new Tic Tac Toe challenge with Team X:

I chose the top row across of Stitching, Ombre and Sparkle Glitter, but I also used the middle row down of Tag and Metallic as well!  So here we go:

I've got a lot of sparkle going on here!  I diecut a tag (which is stitched, but it's hard to see) from SU's Rainbow Glimmer paper, then cut a stitched snowman and stitched snowbank with some retired Sparkle Glimmer paper as well.  The tag has some metallic ribbon, and his scarf, nose and eyes are also glimmer paper, and the background paper has metallic accents on all the little designs!

The snowman hugs sentiment is from an old Whippersnapper set, stamped in Tempting Turquoise; the Let it Snow is from SU's Snow Place, stamped in Magenta Madness and cut with a banner die:

Although there are lots of parts to the card, it went together surprisingly quickly and I love the final outcome!  And since there is so much "snow" on here, I am entering it at Shopping Our Stash for their snowy  challenge this week!

I hope you'll play Tic Tac Toe with us and share your creation with us too!  If you have any questions about the "ingredients", let me know!!  Thanks for popping by and have a blessed day!

RRCB147 Anything Goes

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  So happy to have you pop by today!  It's Retro Rubber time, where we give our older stamps some love!  AND it's "Anything Goes" this week:

Anything Goes challenges are a challenge for me....I have so many "retro" stamps, it's hard to choose which one to use!  I need guidelines, LOL!  Anyway, I decided on a couple of CTMH sets from a few years back; one is called Poster Tidings Fall and Winter, the other is called Just Treats, for my Christmas card this week:

To get started, I used the Fusion Card Challenge sketch and photo inspiration for this week:

I stamped the words in Crumb Cake on a Naturals White piece of cardstock and mounted it on some Kaisercraft DSP, then added a vellum panel with a glimmer paper frame.  I added a little cup of something warm, a Soft Sky snowflake and some "berries".

And because I have a hot beverage on my card, I am also entering this at Shopping Our Stash, which is looking for "Hot Beverages for Cold Nights"!

So I hope you'll play along with our Anything Goes challenge this week, just remember that your stamps have to be at least a year old, and tell us their age!  Can't wait to see what you create...share it with us at the Retro Rubber blog!

More chore time!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
