Another Christmas Card

Happy Wednesday, peeps! Can you handle another Christmas card?  The sketch from 52 Christmas Card Throwdown was a fun one, and I combined it with the RetroRubber Tic-Tac-Toe grid:

I chose the middle column down:  Pines, Snow and My Choice, which was embossing!  Here we go:

(Sorry for the glare in the corner--not sure how that happened!)  My pines are from Rooted in Nature (2018) and the sentiment is from Itty Bitty Christmas (2019).  I embossed my banner with the Softly Falling embossing folder and made some "snowy" hills with the Stitched Hillside dies from Lawn Fawn.  I added a border of Cherry Cobbler and a faux bow and ribbon, embellished with a sequin:

Sentiment on the inside was from the same set, and I stamped a couple of trees inside as well.  The DSP is the retired Classic Christmas!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

RR268 Easter Blessings

Happy Wednesday, peeps! I needed a couple more Easter cards, and when I saw the sketch at Retro Rubber, I knew I had an older, much-loved set that would be perfect for it!  Here's the sketch:

So here we go:

The images are from a 2006 set called Hello Spring; the images were stamped and watercolored, then diecut with a Stylish Shapes dies.  The sentiment (Graceful Words, also 2006) was stamped and fussy-cut, then mounted on top of three diecut strips.

The inside sentiment (Easter Blessings, 2011) was stamped in Coastal Cabana:

Since I love things in threes, I really loved this sketch!  And I love these little images too! Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP777 CAS Challenge from Jaydee

Happy Sunday, all!  Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess this week with a timely, fun Clean-and-Simple challenge:

There are always lots of options for florals, right?!  For my card, I also chose to use the color challenge from Retro Rubber as well:

So here we go:

I am really trying to use some of my older stamps; these florals happen to come from a Paper Pumpkin kit; I would say it's at least five or six years old, perhaps older, because I haven't done Paper Pumpkin for a while!  I stamped the flowers and leaves on a piece of Basic White cardstock and watercolored them with Bubble Bank, Strawberry Slush, Granny Apple Green and Mossy Meadow inks.  I then fussy-cut them out and mounted them on a Bubble Bath frame on top of a Basic White card base.

I also diecut a little cross-stitch pattern around the edge of the card--still keeps it clean and simple, but adds some interest!  Finally my sentiment is from Suite Sayings (2016), stamped in Strawberry Slush.  It is always fun to use some older stuff!

I hope you'll play with our challenge this week!  Remember to keep it CLEAN and SIMPLE--minimal stamps, layers and embellishments!  Share it with us over at the blog!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP775 Theme Challenge from Christy

Hello, stamping friends! Happy March!  Christy is our Paper Players hostess this week with a theme challenge I don't think we've ever had before:

I realized I do NOT have any "mythical creature" stamps, but I did have one leprechaun stamp from an older SU set called Gift Givers (2011), so I decided to get him inky.  Later on, I thought about the fact that I have some gnome stamps, and they would probably be okay too, in case you share the same dilemma as I do!  So here we go:

I inked up this little guy and did some coloring with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol....still practicing that technique!  I diecut him with a Stylish Shapes die and added a scalloped mat of Lemon Lime Twist and mounted that all on a couple of panels diecut with the Everyday Arches dies.  I stamped a few random little clovers from Itty Bitties (2013) and that all went on a piece of green madras plaid DSP from Memory Box:

My sentiment is from a REALLY old Purple Onion set (probably 2010 or so) and the diecut shamrocks are from Impression Obsession.  On the inside, I added another strip of the same plaid paper, a sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs and a few more stamped and diecut shamrocks!

And since I am using several older sets, I am entering this in the RetroRubber challenge, where they're looking for the Luck of the Irish:

as well as the Card Concept, where they're looking for shades of green:

I would say that my card concept is "clean and layered", and I was inspired by the green plaid and the lovely colors!

I hope you'll be able to play along with us at the Players this week, it's such a fun challenge!  We can't wait to see what you come up with!  Thanks so much for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

Retro Rubber 265 Hey, Cowboy

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Middle of the week, it's all downhill from here! I needed a birthday card for a little boy at church, and the Retro Rubber challenge was a tic-tac-toe grid:

I'll let you read their post to see why there are pumpkins on the grid, LOL!  Needless to say, I didn't choose that option, but went with the Kraft Paper/My Choice and Embossing across the middle. I pulled out some real oldies for this one!  Here we go:

This card looks MUCH better in real life than it does here....just sayin', it doesn't photograph very well!  I used the cowboy image from Out West (2010) and did some black heat embossing on Kraft cardstock.  After I heat embossed it, I did some watercoloring (my free choice) and fussy-cut it out, mounting it on a Kraft square that was also embossed with a retired Wrapped in Texture embossing folder.  You can see the embossing better here:

My "hey" and Rootin' Tootin' are from the retired Yee-Haw set (2014) and I confess, I forgot that the other sentiment is still current!  Oops!  The horseshoe and hat are also from Out West, and the stars are from Yee-Haw as well, all stamped in Crumb Cake:

The patterned paper on the front is from an older Cosmo Cricket pad called Wanted.  It was fun to use these older sets!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

RR264 Just a Note

Hello, peeps!  Happy Thursday! I almost missed the Retro Rubber sketch this week...I do love playing with my older stamps!  I made a sweet, simple note card using the Wishing You Well set, which came out in 2018!  Here's their sketch:

I found some cute paper that matched SU's Cloud Cover nicely, so that was my inspiration! Here we go:

I stamped the wreath in Cloud Cover ink and added a sentiment from the same set; I punched out a couple of glimmer paper hearts to make a simple accent:

It's almost like a Valentine that's not a Valentine!  I added a layer of embossed polka dots behind it all...simple and sweet!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

JAI777 Something Seasonal

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  The Just Add Ink challenge this week is "Something Seasonal":

I have a class this week at the retirement community where Dana works, and they had requested winter birthdays, so one of the cards we'll be making just happened to fit JAI's challenge:

The skates are from Avery Elle and the sentiment is from SU's Greetings of the Season and Everyday Greetings (both from 2024).  Skates were stamped in Basic Gray, and then colored with Blends.  They're mounted on a pretty embossed panel of Coastal Cabana.  The inside sentiment is from Waffle Flower:

And since this Avery Elle set has been in my stash for at least five years, I am adding it to the Retro Rubber challenge of "Anything Goes"!

Lots of errands to run today, so I am "skating" off, saying thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed! And STAY WARM!

PP751 CAS Christmas Seal

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Elizabeth is our Hostess for the Paper Players this week, and here's her CAS challenge for us:

This should be a fun one! Since I had a crazy busy few days last week, I went really easy and pulled out a sticker from the retired Beary Christmas Memories & More pack and made a sweet little CAS Christmas card:

I adhered my little Christmas seal to a piece of striped Poppy Parade DSP that I dicut with the Perennial Postage die, and mounted it on a panel embossed with the Snowflake Sky embossing folder:

Don't you just love the look at that little guy's face?!  I added some light blue gingham ribbon and a little banner with a sentiment from the retired Stitched With Cheer (2016), punched out with a wee banner punch that I don't think I ever used, LOL!

On the inside, a sentiment and snowflake from the same Stitched With Cheer set:

And since I've used some retired products here, I am entering this into the RetroRubber challenge as well, which is a Tic-Tac-Toe:

I followed the left column down of punch, stripes and ribbon!  Now I hope you'll play along with our CAS challenge at the Paper Players this week!  Be sure to keep things simple--not a lot of layers or embellishments.  My card is actually a bit less CAS than my usual, but hopefully Elizabeth will put her "seal" of approval on it!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

RRCB260 You're Too Wonderful

Happy Wednesday, peeps! The gals over at RetroRubber have a fun sketch this week:

I needed a thank you card for one of my knitting friends from church, so I pulled out Zany Zoo (2023) and Hand Knit (2010) to make her card:

I stamped, diecut and colored my knitting llama with some Blends, then mounted her on a "knitted" panel from Mintay, which is also the background panel.  A little ribbon trim created the diagonal element of the sketch, and three skeins of yarn were stamped, colored and fussy-cut for the other elements:

A sentiment from the same set was stamped on Pecan Pie cardstock and diecut with a Pink & Main banner die:

It was fun to color this fun little image; I hope she appreciates it as much as I appreciated her gift!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Vintage Birthday Wishes

Happy Wednesday, peeps! Trying to squeeze in some stamping time before our holiday celebrations!  I needed several masculine cards (aren't they the most challenging?) and saw a fun sketch from Just Add Ink as well as the birthday challenge from Retro Rubber!

I went WAY back in the archives for some of these products, LOL!  Here's one of the cards I created:

The papers are from an old Basic Gray pad (remember them), and the "birthday" banner is from Time of Year (2016) and the "wishes" is from Holly Jolly Greetings (2015).  The vehicle is from Unity's Consider Yourself Vintage, and I know I've had that for several years:

I didn't want to put a bow on a masculine card, so I diecut a wee little wrench from some copper foil using a die from My Favorite Things....Tool Charms.  It's an oldie too!  The banners and mat are both Basic Black.  I made a few more similar to this for my stash for this month!  Now to get them ready to go out in the mail!  And I just realized this will fit the Krafty Chicks birthday challenge this week too!

Thanks so much for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

RRCB257 Shaky Snowman

Happy Wednesday, peeps! I had a thoroughly enjoyable time yesterday making a fun shaker card for the Retro Rubber challenge, which is a tic-tac-toe! I chose the diagonal of sequins, shaker and diecut:

I pulled out a set from the 2022 mini called Snowman Magic, along with the matching Snowman dies and here's what I came up with:

My background is some retired specialty DSP called Let It Snow....I've been hoarding all that I have, but I thought this pattern would make a great background for my little snowman and his red hat!  I stamped and diecut him and his bunny pal (his little redbird friend too) and then used the new two-toned Pool Party cardstock to diecut some trees.  I cut a frame from Real Red cardstock and added a bunch of sequins from my stash.  I stamped a Scrapbook.com sentiment on it before I sealed everything up:

A simple sentiment from Hope & Peace went on the inside:

This was probably the best sequin/shaker card I ever made---usually my sequins stick to the foam pieces but everything went smoothly this time! Yay!

A few pictures from Father's Day:

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
