FF0153 Making Friends

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I have another "friendship" card today; while I was making my Paper Players card, I decided to just ink up another cute image from that Rare Images set. This one features a little girl with her kitten; so here we go:

This time I stamped my little girl on some watercolor paper with Stazon ink and colored her with inks and an aquapainter, leaving the little kitten's face white:

I found an older SU stamp that had this friendship sentiment, so I stamped it on watercolor paper as well, then diecut it with the Nested Essentials die.  I added some featherstitching to the side of the watercolor paper panel, as well as at the bottom of the Azure Afternoon card, and added some black and white gingham to coordinate:

I think I'll throw this in the ring over at Festive Friday; the blue and white colors and the "supportive statement" should fit the bill!

Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP677 Friends

Happy Sunday, peeps! Hope your weekend is going along okay! Ann is our hostess at the Paper Players this week and her CAS theme is a fun one:

I pulled out a stamp from a set that I got a few years back from Rare Image Stamps, not even sure if they're still in business, but I love these detailed vintage images for clean-and-simple cards!  Here we go:

I stamped these friends on thick Very Vanilla cardstock using Stazon ink, then just watercolored them in!  Easy peasy!  No ruffles or frills at all for my clean-and-simple card!  The sentiment is from the retired Storybook Friends; I cut all the sentiments apart from their images, so I could get double use from them!  I added a simple birthday sentiment on the inside to finish it off!

I am also entering this at the CAS on Sunday challenge, which is to make a card for a boy, as well as the Krafty Chicks challenge, which is also looking for CAS!

I hope you'll play along with our Paper Players challenge this week.  Sometimes clean-and-simple cards can be a challenge to make; we all love to add layers and embellishments, don't we?  But we hope you'll give it a try and share it with us at the PP blog!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC456 Sorry for your Loss

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I have a friend who lost a dear pet recently.  The sketch at Atlantic Hearts was another great way to use up some scraps:

And here we go:

I began by diecutting some strips of Meadow designer paper from Authentique and layering them behind a rectangle of Basic White.  I stamped a little kitty and colored it in Smoky Slate, then fussy-cut it out and popped it up on the panel.  The sentiment, from Pampered Pets, was stamped in Soft Succulent ink.  I added a couple of acrylic dots  and a back layer of Soft Sky to frame it:

I hope it gives her family some comfort!  Thanks for stopping in today!

My cousin's daughter is an amazing young lady.  During her high school years, she developed a tumor in her brain; she had surgery and recovered, but eventually it caused the nerves in her foot to atrophy and she decided to have it amputated.  She has a prothesis, is a wonderful role model for others who have gone through the same trauma, and remains a happy, upbeat mom.  All that to say, when she shared this on FB lately, I just had to share....it was her version of a snow angel, made during the recent snowfall we had here in PA:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI264 Meow

Hey there, stampers!  Hope you all had a lovely holiday!  Now it's time for a new As You See It challenge, and it's a fun one:

After our kitty Pumpkin passed away, we did not get another pet! But I do love seeing pictures of other peoples' pets! I enjoy them vicariously through stamping as well!  So it will be fun to see what everyone comes up with for this cute challenge!

I have several cat images but I really loved this vintage one from Rare Image stamps (sadly, I don't think they're in business any longer)!  I stamped my trio of kitties in Stazon ink on Shimmery White cardstock and watercolored them in:

I used the sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday:

as well as the challenge from Shopping Our Stash, which is a Triple Threat:  use three of something!  I used three kittens as well as three different patterned papers!  (Ooops, I forgot those three little elements down at the bottom!  Oh well!)  All my papers are from Authentique's Meadow collection:

The ribbon is SU's Blushing Bride Frayed Grosgrain ribbon, and both sentiments are from the Nine Lives (ret) set:

I have a cat-loving friend who gave me some flowers after my surgery, so I think I'll send this to her!  Now, how about you?  Can you come up with something to honor your pet...or maybe a pet you wish you had?  Check out what the DT came up with--you may be surprised--and then share yours with us too at the AYSI blog!

Now, here's one of my grand-dogs....Eden must have had a cold nose, LOL!

Thanks for visiting today, enjoy it and be blessed!

KCC538 CAS Birthday Pup

Hi everyone!  It's time for a new Krafty Chicks challenge!  This week Leanne is hosting a Clean and Simple challenge!

I went back to my new Rare Image stamps I got recently and picked out a cute little pup that looks like my sister's dog Daisy!  Daisy is a feisty little thing, although she has a penchant for provoking copperheads and getting bitten!  My sister's birthday is coming up, so I thought this little image and a fun sentiment from Inkadinkado worked together well:

I'd been hoarding this big gingham ribbon, so I tied it into a loose knot to accent the top, and rounded the corners at the bottom.  I punched out two hearts; one from Real Red cardstock and another smaller one, stamped in a small gingham check, and layered them below the sentiment!  I hope she likes it and I hope it will make becoming one year older a little easier, LOL!

We invite you to play along in our CAS challenge...you can see what the other designers created this week at the Krafty Chicks blog!  Thanks for popping in today...enjoy it and be blessed!

Eden Christmas Card

Hello, peeps!  I am running behind schedule today but I have gotten a lot of chores done, LOL!  I have a silly card that I will be sending to Cassidy for Christmas, so don't tell her!  I recently got some fun vintage-themed stamps from Rare Image Rubber Stamps, and there was a dog one that looked so much like Eden, I just had to use it on her card:

Now, the silliness is Eden's Santa hat, of course, but I thought it would fun to play with the Double D Challenge this week:

Eden's Santa hat is from an old SU stamp set, still mounted on wood, called Jolly Bingo Bits! I stamped it in Real Red and added a little shading and some Wink of Stella!

She also got a new collar (Playful Pets Trinkets) and some glimmer star embellishments!  I used the sketch from Global Design Project:

I flipped the layout to better serve my image; the sentiments both outside and in are from Scrapbook.com's Heartfelt Christmas:

And now, here are Eden and Ginger (and Cassidy) in their finest Christmas sweaters:

They didn't last long in them....I guess dogs and sweaters just don't really get along!  Thanks for popping in today---off to do more chores!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
