November Club Projects

DSCF0865-001

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Thought I would share with you what we made in our Hostess clubs this month.  But first, I wanted to show the little gift I made for my last hostess, Joan.  It’s a tin that I covered with some Natural Composition Specialty paper, then added some images from Day of Gratitude:

Inside was a bunch of little goodies I collected over the last month!  Fun stuff!

Our first project was a little peppermint mocha instant coffee gift holder:

Using the Two Tags die, I took a piece of 8 1/2 x  2 1/4” Marina Mist cardstock and folded it in half.  I placed it on the die with the fold just above the bottom of the tag and ran it through the Big Shot.  We wheeled it with the Jolly Jingles wheel, inked in Craft White, then added the Candy Cane from Scentsational Seasons stamped in Raspberry Ripple.  It is simply tied together, no adhesive necessary, with RR stitched ribbon.  A fun, easy project!

Next, we put pencils in the narrow cello bags and made a penguin topper with various punches.  I got the idea from Julie Davison and you can see hers here.

And finally, we made one of those cool folded star ornament/tags, and you can see a great video tutorial by Dawn Olchefske here.

I think everyone enjoyed making the projects!  Now I am looking forward to meeting some of my stamping friends tomorrow for a Holiday Card shoebox swap!  I am sure we’ll have some pictures to share!  And be sure to stop back to see my Paper Players card, and I am the hostess!!!  Thanks for visiting!

Cassidy is learning what “friends” are….she’s lined up her baby doll and her animals together because they are friends!

Paper Players 55

DSCF2234

Happy Sunday, happy Paper Players challenge to you all!  Today Lesley is our hostess with the mostest, and she is giving us a color challenge:

Challenge 55 swatch

My daughter & I are attending a baby shower today for my niece, who is having a baby boy in August.  I had seen this adorable card by the uber-talented Linda Fisher and thought it would be cute for the mom-to-be, and would fit the color challenge as well:

  • Eyes:  1/4” Circle Punch, WW & Basic Gray, cut in half
  • Forelock:  Boho Blossoms Punch (smallest flower)
  • Chest:  Scallop Circle Punch
  • Body:  Nestability 2 3/8” Scallop Diecut
  • Feet:  Modern Label Punch, trimmed

I also stamped A to Z in White Craft ink along the right side of the card; the Poppy Parade panel is embossed with the Backgrounds 1 Texturz plate, and I used a little Neutrals button on my sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Punch art is always fun to make, and this was no exception!  We hope you’ll gambol over to the Paper Players blog and try your hand at this pretty color combo!  You may be chosen as a Cut Above or Headliner!

Cassidy has her own little lamb and loves to “kiss” it, (which really means biting his ears)!!!  LOL!

Paper Players 48

DSCF6396

Happy Sunday! The Paper Players are back to their regular schedule after the little blip we had last week with Blogger! Nance is our hostess this week and she’s got a great sketch for us:

May 22 Sketch

I was blurfing the other day and came across a great blog called Paper Punch Addiction. Each day, Kim finds great projects made with punches and posts the links on her blog. I found this adorable card by Linda Fisher and knew I had to make one for myself!!! Well, to give to someone! So here we go:

PP48

I changed mine up just a little bit, but used the same basic shapes and punches! This was so fun—and it went together very quickly!

Now I hope you can find some time to play with the Paper Players this week---skip on over there and check out what the other Players came up with this week, and add your creation as well!

Stacey’s Curtain Call Act#23

DSCF7366

I haven’t played Stacey’s Color Challenge for a while, so I thought I would take a few minutes today to play!  These are such elegant colors, and the designers’ samples are so nice!  I had seen some punched tulips (I believe on LeeAnn Greff’s blog) so I thought I would try them here to make another Easter card for my stash.  I also used Taylor’s sketch.  Here are the details:

and here is my card:

Dots & sentiment are from PTI; the tulip is sort of 3D; you can see it here:

DSCF7365

it is made from the wing of the large bird punch that is in the current SU mini catalog---how versatile & cool is that!  Thanks for visiting again today!

Mr Roboto

DSCF6688

I saw this FUN card on LeeAnn Greff’s website and knew I had to make one for my nephew’s birthday.  He does robotics through his school, and my brother helps out too, so I hoped he would notice what was on the outside of this card almost as much as he would notice what was on the inside!!!  It was really quite easy, as LeeAnn and her DH make great picture tutorials!

DSCF6689

I used a Stampin’Up! sentiment from On Your Birthday, and added some cute little extras from the robot set by My Cute Stamps.  You can see the little nuts & bolts on the photo at the top of the post.  Aren’t they fun?  He really  liked the Diamond Plate embossed background, which is a CB folder.  And I am sure he thought the little dog looked just like his boxer, Peyton!! Right???!!!!

DSCF6685

Hey, it is snowing to beat the band here, so I am going to do something fun like stamp or sew or cross stitch while DH is out playing with his snowblower!  Stay safe & warm!
