DSCF5816-001

Happy Friday, peeps! Phew, what a long week this was!  I am happy to see the end of it and meet with my club girls tonight!  When I saw the Play Date Café challenge this week, I knew immediately what to submit!  Here’s the challenge:

I actually made this last month but never posted it.  My sister has bee hives and was giving a gift of honey to friends for their anniversary.  Since I love bees too (but not to the extent of having hives!!!!), I had plenty of bee-themed stamps and happily made her a sweet little tag for her honey:

DSCF5817

I used a plethora of images here; the main beehive is from an old SU stamp set called Garden Pleasures; the bee is from Nature Walk; the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes; the honey comb is from MFT and the frame is from Waltzingmouse.  I sponged the edges and shabbied up some Daffodil Delight ribbon to give it a more vintage look:

I loved it so much, I hated to give it away, so maybe I’ll make another!  If you have any questions about specifics on the project, just shoot me an email!  Remember, if you leave a question in the comment box, I can’t always access your email to answer you personally!   Thanks for visiting today!

DSCF5823

Hey peeps! Another quick post as I wanted to get this card in for the beautiful Play Date Café challenge:

My sweet friend Athena is celebrating a birthday this week, so this is for her:

PDCC183 & MOJO295

DSCF5357

Hey, peeps!  Squeaking in another card today because I wanted to play with the The Play Date Café’s current color challenge, sponsored by a sweet friend of mine!  Here are the colors:

I had a few ideas in my head, but when I saw the Mojo Monday sketch #295, I thought it would translate into a fun baby boy card:

Mojo 295 - LeAnne

The squares were punched out with the 1” square and 1 1/4” postage stamp punches.  I already had the green gingham banner stamped from a prior project, so I just diecut the anchor and stars and put it all together!  Cute colors and an awesome sketch!

We’ve had a few showers here lately….and of course, Cassidy is drawn to those puddles like a moth to a flame!  And yes, her boots are on the wrong feet!  But she put them on herself!

PPA159 & PDC182

DSCF5004

Hello there, peeps!  Squeaking in another post today---I am combining a couple of challenges today for a birthday card I needed!  I used the Pals Paper Arts sketch 159”

PPA159w-frame

along with the beautiful colors from the Play Date Café, for which the deadline is fast approaching:

I had a wee bit of trouble with the maroon color, but I squeezed it in on my flowers!:

DSCF5005

I didn’t really like Poppy Parade when it first came out; now I wish it would come back!  What a great shade of red!  I used some papers from last year’s Domestic Goddess pack, as the prints and colors were perfect for the challenge!

I don’t have any new photos of Cassidy to share, but I was able (amazingly!!!) to snap a couple pictures of my elusive oriole.  I knew where he was in the tree, so I just aimed my camera and took a couple of shots.  This tree was probably 50’ away from me!   These are cropped and enlarged, so they’re not real clear, but good enough to get a view:

On another bird note, as I was parking my car in my driveway yesterday, a huge pileated woodpecker flew right across my field of vision!  I was dumbfounded!  I had seen one in the woods once, so to have him fly so close to me and close to the ground….my head was in the clouds!    Enjoy your day!

DSCF3914

Howdy, peeps!  I am sneaking in another creation this day---and then I am going to spend some time outside because, finally, it is BEAUTIFUL!  I have two challenges today that, while they are not new, I don’t believe I ever participated in either one:

The Play Date Café with this incredibly beautiful neutral palette:

and I {Heart} Sketches:

I needed a masculine birthday card as my stash is almost depleted, so I gathered some krafty-colored DPs and went to work:

DSCF3915

Can you believe that this image AND background, as well as the “burlapy” DP is all from MDS?  I am excited!  I love this look!  Even the fold lines are MDS!

DSCF3916

I added some piercing on the reverse side of the DPs and smudged them with a dauber and some ink to bring them out a bit (and I added some where there weren’t any on the sketch—ooops!):

DSCF3917

and then added a mat, brad, Natural Ribbon and some corrugated paper to complete the rustic look!  Although I love stamping, this is fun to do too!  If you have any questions about what I used here, just shoot me an email!   Enjoy your day and be sure to come back for the ColourQ challenge tomorrow!

Matching them up!

CCMC200, MOJO239 & PDCC130

DSCF0535-001

Oooh, I’ll tell you, I am really struggling with my creativity this week!  Maybe it’s spring fever!  The temps are rising here in PA!   Anyway, this is for three challenges:  Create with Connie & Mary’s 100th Celebration Challenge (make a celebration card using your favorite retiring DP and add a pennant or banner), the Mojo Monday Sketch 239, and the Play Date Cafe color challenge #130.  Here’s the sketch and the palette:

And here is my square card:

DSCF0534-001

I didn’t like Blushing Bride when it first came out, but I love it now and am so sad to see it go.  This DP is from an old hostess pack, I know it’s already retired, so I’ve already broken the rules!!  But it is so pretty, I just had to use it.  The Crazy for Cupcakes set is retiring and I didn’t use it nearly enough!  I don’t have a BB marker, so I colored my cupcake with ink and a blender pen….not such a great idea when trying to cover a large surface!  I added some Dazzling Diamonds to make it look a little bit better, and some bling to the pennants to draw one’s eye away from the terrible coloring!

DSCF0537-001

Well, I am sure someone having a birthday will enjoy it!   If you have any questions, shoot me an email!   And speaking of coloring:

DSCF0558

Two-fisted, no less!  But the best part was that she actually PUT THEM AWAY!  (This is a big deal in our household!)  And isn’t that ruffled-star purple t-shirt a great inspiration piece???

RS6, F&F, and PDCC126

 DSCF0240

Well, I didn’t think I would have time to stamp today but I did squeak some in, after seeing the cute RetroSketches sketch for today:

AND the beautiful colors at the Play Date Cafe:

AND the “Words” challenge at Frilly & Funkie, I came up with this:

DSCF0242

This definitely fits the “funkie” rather than frilly category, and when I was making it, I was loving it, but after seeing it on the screen, I am not too sure…..I love the elements but am not convinced the two sentiments go together, although they are from the same set.  It is a bit different from my usual style, too.  Oh well….it’s done and ready to go in the mail!

DSCF0241

I used a plethora of sets here, along with some Cosmo Cricket Odds & Ends papers and a SU chipboard house.  I’ve been waiting for a chance to use one of them, and when I saw the sketch, I knew it was my chance!  If you have any questions about anything I’ve used here, be sure to send me an email!  (And don’t forget to come back tomorrow for the Paper Players challenge!)

PPA124 & PDCC111

DSCF0134

I finally had a chance to get out of Christmas mode and work on a couple birthday cards I need for December!  One was a masculine one, so I used the Pals Paper Arts sketch from this week:

PPA124

along with the color challenge of black, white and aqua from The Play Date Cafe:

PDCC111

And here we go:

DSCF0133

For some reason, my camera just isn’t capturing this in its true color….but stamped on the textured cardstock, it looks really cool!  This image is fairly large, so my card is a little larger than normal.  I also did some embossing on the black panel:

DSCF0135

and repeated the image on the inside with the sentiment:

DSCF0136

If you have any questions, just shoot me an email!

Cassidy had her first chocolate chip cookie yesterday:

Gotta start her on the Christmas cookie traditions early!!

Post-Hurricane!

DSCF6443-1

Well, the worst of Hurricane Irene has passed through our neck of the woods, although it is still very, very windy!  Other than a couple leaks in a bedroom ceiling, so far we are doing well.  I am being lazy today and treated myself to some additional stamping time before I jump into “clean-up” mode!  I got some new stamps and used them for this sketch challenge:

aug11komsc

And I used this gorgeous color inspiration from the Play Date Cafe:

PDCC96

And here’s my creation:

This also fulfills the Just Add Ink challenge this week, to use something from your stash….I think I have had this DP for about two years, LOL!  If you’ve got any questions about the card, just shoot me an email!

I also took some time to CLEAN up my stamp area:

The only thing is, is that they weren’t quite ready yet!  But we’re safe & sound so that’s really all that matters!  Hope you are too!
