52CCT24-44 Ribboned Santa

Happy Wednesday, peeps! Are you all ready for the big day tomorrow?  Ours will be low-key!  I am going to make Cornish hens....hopefully they'll turn out okay, I've never made them before!

My card today is for the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, which wants to see some ribbon on our cards!

I have TONS of ribbon and don't use it as much as I should!  I did find some glittery burlap ribbon in my stash which I thought had a nice country feel to it, so I decided to use that along with another image from the North Pole Trading Company stamp set I still had on my desk.  So here we go:

This time, I colored in my Santa with some Blends.  He looks a little stark against the burlap and dark green, perhaps I should have used Very Vanilla cardstock, LOL!  Anyway, I thought the ribbon would adhere with some Tear 'n Tape, but it didn't, so I made the mistake of using liquid glue, which seeped through a little bit.  Oops.  After it dried, I added a red glimmer brad to the top of the Santa ornament, which matched nicely with the glittery snowflakes on the ribbon:

Both my inside and outside sentiments are from an older CTMH set called Santa Claus:

Maybe not the best card I've made but it has country holiday vibe to it that I like anyway!  Thanks for visiting today!

Now that all my stamp classes are done for the year, I've been concentrating on finishing the cross stitch projects I was working on during 2024!  Here are just two of them...they call them "smalls" in the cross stitch world!

They're about 4-5" across, stitched on linen, and stuffed with polyfill; I'll put them all in a little basket when I start to decorate!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC605 Warm Wishes

Happy Tuesday, all!  My card today uses the current Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, as well as the AAA CAS Christmas challenge:

I pulled out a set from Photo Play that I got several years ago and have hardly used:

I heat embossed the ornament in gold, then watercolored it with Poppy Parade ink; in hindsight, I wish I had used Blends or Copics.  I added some greenery in Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen, along with a wee little sentiment and some speckles of gold.  The gold vertical piece was some gold Shimmer Trim from CTMH...I miss that stuff!  The final addition was a gold diecut bow:

I added a Greetings of the Season sentiment, along with a little left-over piece of greenery, on the inside:

I hope you'll play along with our pretty sketch this week!  Tomorrow you can see ALL the DT submissions, and I am sure you'll get lots of inspiration at the AHSC blog!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS 569 Jingle All the Way

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Off to another basketball game to watch Cassidy!  I do have a little Christmas card to share; this turned out totally different than what I envisioned when I began!  Does that ever happen to you?  Anyway, it uses the FMS sketch as well as the Jingle Belles theme of bells!

And here we go:

I began with a Basic White card base and some retired Classic Christmas DSP, stamping my sentiment from Stamplorations in Evening Evergreen.  The bell was stamped in Silver Encore ink on Champage foil cardstock, and heat-embossed with silver embossing powder.  I didn't notice until I photographed it that part of the embossed area on the bell is missing!  Drat!

I had stamped some greenery to tuck under the bell but didn't like how it looked, so I opted for some silver Metallic ribbon and that looked better.  The "all the way" is from the retired Jingle Jingle Jingle, and it was also heat-embossed in silver; I wanted the strip to be a little narrower, so I cut out the "y"and adhered it on that way!

I used a cute sentiment from Snowman Magic for the inside!

Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP592 Merry Sketch

Hello stampers, happy Sunday!  It's Paper Players time and I am the hostess this week with a sketch for you:

It was SO hot yesterday here in PA, I decided to make a Christmas card to cool off!  Here we go:

I got these ornament stamps and dies at the end of the Christmas season so I hadn't really had a chance to play with them!  I stamped them on Shimmery White cardstock in Stazon ink, then watercolored them in shades of Evening Evergreen, Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake.  I chose some matching DSPs from last year's catalog, Tidings of Christmas:

I mixed my metallics...I hope that's not a big faux pas...using silver cord and gold pearls, then added a stacked diecut "merry" at the bottom, popped up on little slivers of dimensionals!  I also added a diecut scalloped border:

There are so many ways this sketch can be interpreted!  I hope you'll find some inspiration and play along, it would mean a lot to me!  You can see what all the design team created over at the Paper Players blog...check it out, then be sure to share yours too!  Thanks for visiting today...enjoy it and be blessed!

Two More Christmas Cards

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I'll probably not post in the next few days because of Christmas, so I am sharing TWO cards today because I did some shopping for myself (that way I get what I want!) and had to share some of my new goodies!  The first one uses a Tim Holtz die I got free from Simon Says Stamp (thanks, Michele, for letting me know) along with some starry paper from Photoplay; simple and easy:

I created two snowy hills with SU's retired Sleigh Ride dies, added an older Paper Pumpkin sentiment, stamped in Gray Granite, then adhered it all together; Santa and his reindeer were cut from Basic Black cardstock as well:

Since gray is not a cheerful Christmas color, I mounted it on a Merry Merlot card base and added another Paper Pumpkin sentiment (and stars) on the inside:

And I am entering this one at Hand Stamped Sentiments, where they have this inspiration board; of course, the silhouetted Santa was my inspiration!

My second card uses some new stamps from PhotoPlay called North Pole Trading Company; this little Santa just captured my heart:

I colored him with Blends, then used the coordinating dies to cut him out:

He was mounted on a Tailor Made tag that was embossed with a Tim Holtz "believe" embossing folder and that was all mounted on a piece of black and red glitter plaid DSP I had in my stash.  I added a red glimmer bow diecut to the top of the tag, and I mounted it on a Basic Gray card front, adding some snowflakes from a retired Paper Pumpkin set to lighten it up a bit! His final embellishment, after some Wink of Stella on his beard and coat, was a little snowflake, punched out with a tiny flower punch, on top of his hat!  I used the same sentiment on the inside as the first card.  This one is being entered at Tuesday Morning Sketches, where their challenge is Anything Goes!

Thanks for hanging in there with me and my continual passion for making Christmas cards!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
