IB84 Apple Friends

Hi peeps!  Thursday is here..almost the weekend, yay!  Laurel has a fun Inspired By prompt for us, another back-to-school one....'tis the season, right?!  Cassidy will be starting August 26 and I know some schools in the south start even before that!  Anyway, here is my card using a bunch of older stuff and a new-ish set as well:

And here is the challenge photo:

Isn't that fun?!  What a cute centerpiece!  I concentrated on the reds and greens as well as the polka dots!!!  I stamped these apples from a retired SU set called Perfectly Preserved in Poppy Parade and Granny Apple Green and used the matching dies to cut them out.  My background paper is some Papertrey I've been hoarding FOREVER, and just had to break it out; I diecut it with a Nested Stitched Label die and topped it with a polka-dotted banner:

I heat-embossed the sentiment from Fable Friends in white on an Early Espresso banner; I decided the right side of my card looked a little bare, so I added an embossed stitched line and threw on a few sequins:

I left the inside blank so I can use it for whatever occasion that arises!  This card makes me smile too!
What about you....what inspires you?  The numbers, the colors, that cute little school bus?  I hope you'll play along with us at Inspired By and share your creation with us, and be sure to check out the awesome samples from the DT while you're there!

Here are a few more birthday cards:

Martha and Karen F. know I love my orange hues:

And Peggy and Karen H know how much I love birds!!!

Thanks, ladies, and thanks, readers, for popping in!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP406 Corny Thanks

Hi peeps!  Sunday is here and that means another Paper Players challenge!  Sandy is our hostess and she has a clean-and-simple challenge, and it's a fun one:

I really don't have  that many fruits or vegetable stamps, although when I started to check, I found I had more than I thought...more DSP, really!  But anyway, I found this Perfectly Preserved set, which had a fun ear of corn, so I used the FMS sketch to make my CAS card:

Here's the sketch for reference, and I also used the Hand Stamped Sentiment color challenge:

There is a matching die with the set, so I stamped the corn in both colors, die-cut them and trimmed off the husk and glued them together, then popped them up on an oval that I embossed with the Basket Weave EF.  The Blueberry Bushel DSP was a good background for my sentiment.  Now, why would I make a thank-you card with corn on it, you ask?  Our neighbor just gave us two dozen ears of corn, and I wish I could say that I took a picture of it on my plate, but it is GONE!  And it was the most delicious corn ever!  So I had to send him this as a way of thanking him!  John said he has over 30 tomato plants as well....it's just him and his wife, so I think he gives a lot of his produce away to the local food pantry and senior centers as well!  What a nice guy!

I hope you'll have fun creating something CAS with fruit and/or vegetables!!!  Share it at the Paper Players blog...can't wait to see it!  While you're there, be sure to check out what the designers did and give them some love!

SIP113 Back to School

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Time for another Stamp Ink Paper challenge, and it IS a timely one:

 No automatic alt text available.
So there are lots of possibilities for this theme....the apple, books, chalkboard, you name it!  I chose to go with an apple and some cool "school" SU paper from a few years back:

I also used the Match the Sketch sketch for this week:

I used two sets for my little apple image; the apple and leaf are from a retired SU set called Perfectly Preserved; the sentiment is from Papertrey, not sure of the name, but it might be Apple of My Eye! The images were stamped on Whisper White, diecut and then mounted on a Very Vanilla circle:

I have a couple of children's birthdays coming up, so this will be for one of them!  Thanks for visiting...I hope you'll play with our challenge this week!  Be sure to check out what the DT created as well!

Our church is participating in Operation Christmas Child again this year, and we met to go through the donations so far and to remove all the packaging.  Cassidy and her friends Piper and Avery "helped":

But you know kids....in the end, they just wanna have fun!

Enjoy your day, and be blessed!

TSOT296 Give Thanks

Hi peeps!  Time for another Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch!  This week our optional theme is Thanskgiving:

I had this cute background paper from BoBunny's Farmer's Market collection, and I thought it would make a great Thanksgiving card:

There was also some cute corn paper which coordinated with it, and I remember a corn image in SU's Perfected Preserved set from a couple years ago!  I had never even inked this image up!  I stamped it two times, once in Crushed Curry and again in Delightful Dijon, and use the coordinating die to cut it out, trimming the corn down a little and adhering it on top:

The Baja Breeze panel was stamped with the woodgrain from Truly Grateful (retired SU) and I mounted it on a Tip Top Taupe scalloped panel.  If you don't have rectangle scallop dies, you can always cut two square ones and piece them together....usually the seam is barely visible and it's a good way to stretch the use of your dies.  I stamped another image on the inside with So Saffron and stamped a sentiment (My Creative Time's Mixed Holiday Sentiments) on top.  The sentiment on the front is also from the same set.

We would love to have you play along with our sketch...you can share it with us on the TSOT blog, or visit our facebook page and share it there!

I don't have a Cassidy photo, but check out this appropriate vintage Thanksgiving postcard from my collection:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TSOT231 and AYSI99

DSCF1370

Hi all!  It’s the middle of the week, yahoo!  I have a sweet little card using the sketch from Try Stampin’ on Tuesday:

and I have incorporated the colors from the As You See It challenge for this week:

AYSIChallenge099

Isn’t that a gorgeous challenge photo?!  Swoon-worthy!  Since the bonus challenge at Try Stampin’ was watercoloring, I pulled out the retired set Perfectly Preserved and stamped the mason jar with the new archival Basic Black ink and colored it with Bermuda Bay ink and my aquapainter on a heavyweight Whisper White tag:

I think I am going to like this new ink…it worked great and didn’t bleed when I used my aquapainter!  I stamped some florals from Flower Patch and Summer Silhouette in Watermelon Wonder; hand-painted the stem in Cucumber Crush, and finished it off with the little banner and sentiment from Endless Thanks!  I added some Wink of Stella to my “water”, I wish you could see it, it’s so pretty!

My horizontal piece is from the In Color “Color Collection” stack…I love how the font matches the font in my sentiment!  And here are a couple more of my lovely birthday cards:

This beautifully-colored little lovely is from my friend Broni:

and the photo just doesn’t do this card justice!  From my friend, Darlene, this is diecut, embedded and GLITTERY!  Just gorgeous!  Thanks, ladies!

I haven’t had my wee one for a few days, so I am looking forward to seeing her today!

ColourQ254

DSCF4616

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  I love the colors that Arielle has for us today!  What do you think of these?

I was a bit stumped with the Coastal Cabana in there, but I thought about the jar from the Perfectly Preserved set, and my card evolved from there:

Pretty self-explanatory; I used papers from various MME 6x6 pads and mounted it on a Pumpkin Pie card base.  I added some white rickrack, a little bow of PP ribbon and a wee bit of baker’s twine:

The outside sentiment is from Papertrey; the inside is from the new SU set called And Many More:

Cute card for an anniversary!  Now, you must check out what the DT has done with these colors---just beautiful!  And be sure to share your creation with us at the ColourQ as well!

Paper Players 167

DSCF8555

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Hope you’re having a great weekend!  Jaydee has a lovely BLUE inspiration for us this week!

Blue is my favorite color, especially these shades, but I was really stumped as to what to make this week!  I think my mind is on fall shades!  I pulled out a set from last year (that I was VERY sad to not see in this year’s catty), Perfectly Preserved.  It has a lot of nice fall images, but it also has a pretty floral image, so I used it for my card today:

I stamped the jar in Versamark and Midnight Muse, then embossed it with clear embossing powder so that I could easily add the “water” inside without bleeding.  I used watercolor paper so the ink flowed easily.  I stamped some florals in the challenge colors (and I added Pistachio Pudding stems….I hope Jaydee doesn’t kick me out!), and then a sweet sentiment from Petite Pairs.

I always need sympathy cards, so I am trying to get ahead!

Hope you can find some inspiration from these colors---and share your creation with us at the Paper Players blog!  Can’t wait to see it!  And check out what the other designers created as well:

Make It Monday 137

DSCF7792

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  The Kraft Journal has a sketch for us this week!  Here it is:

I had gotten a sweet little pad of 6x6 fall papers by Simple Stories, and I couldn’t wait to dive into it!  The patchwork and gingham made me think of the Perfectly Preserved set, so I mixed them all up and this is what came out:

DSCF7791

It’s a little more “fussy” than I usually do, but I think it’s kinda fun!  Here’s some closeups:

DSCF7793DSCF7794

And while I was at it, I made some mini cards; just a quarter sheet of Crumb Cake cardstock folded in half with some Gingham wheel accents and some small images from the same paper pad:

DSCF7795

DSCF7797DSCF7796

The sentiment is from A Dozen Thoughts….they make cute little notecards to tuck into someone’s lunch or gift bag!  When I get my Envelope Punch Board, I can make envelopes too!  It’s on my next order!

Have a happy day!
