AHSC456 Sorry for your Loss

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I have a friend who lost a dear pet recently.  The sketch at Atlantic Hearts was another great way to use up some scraps:

And here we go:

I began by diecutting some strips of Meadow designer paper from Authentique and layering them behind a rectangle of Basic White.  I stamped a little kitty and colored it in Smoky Slate, then fussy-cut it out and popped it up on the panel.  The sentiment, from Pampered Pets, was stamped in Soft Succulent ink.  I added a couple of acrylic dots  and a back layer of Soft Sky to frame it:

I hope it gives her family some comfort!  Thanks for stopping in today!

My cousin's daughter is an amazing young lady.  During her high school years, she developed a tumor in her brain; she had surgery and recovered, but eventually it caused the nerves in her foot to atrophy and she decided to have it amputated.  She has a prothesis, is a wonderful role model for others who have gone through the same trauma, and remains a happy, upbeat mom.  All that to say, when she shared this on FB lately, I just had to share....it was her version of a snow angel, made during the recent snowfall we had here in PA:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI254 Enjoy the Sketch

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  Hope you're all safe and sound this day!  The As You See It challenge is a sketch this week; check it out:

I desperately needed some masculine birthday cards, so I went to one of my favorite "guy" stamp sets and did some stamping and creative diecutting:

I did flip the sketch so that my motorcycle wouldn't look like it was headed off the side of my card!  It was stamped in Night of Navy, and I did some grunge stamping and sponging to give it some depth to match my denim papers.  The sentiment is from Pampered Pets, diecut with the Tasteful Labels dies and embellished with some copper brads....sadly, which are not centered very well, but I doubt the recipient will even notice!

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from Biggest Wish in Night of Navy and Cinnamon Cider:

I hope you'll play along with our fun sketch this week...I need more masculine cards, so I may just keep using this one!  Share your creation with us at As You See It!  Thanks for popping in today!

A few more zoo pix:

Aren't they amazing?!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

GDP282 Cookie Birthday

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I have a very quick birthday card today using the Global Design Project sketch:

I needed a birthday card for an older man at our church and I thought a cookie card would be fun!  Everyone likes cookies, right?!  So here we go:

I used a piece of Cinnamon Cider DSP for the vertical piece and three cookies from Nothing Better Than, along with a sentiment from Pampered Pets, all on a Very Vanilla card base:

I added a few more "chocolate chips" (sprinkles from Sweet Ice Cream) to sweeten it up!  This was so fun, I might whip up another batch!  Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy is wearing a new hat Mommy crocheted for her!  Luckily the weather is warming up and hopefully she won't be needing to wear it!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP529 Cool Cat

Hey everyone!  Happy Sunday!  I am the Paper Players hostess today and it's time for a Clean and Simple challenge:

We all love our pets but sometimes I think the kitties get left out!  My little Pumpkin was our family pet for 18 long years; she's gone now but we still remember her fondly!  So here we go with my clean-and-simple creation this week, using my much-neglected Pampered Pets:

I used the colors from the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge for this week:

I stamped this smug little kitty on some Thick Whisper White cardstock with Stazon Black ink and watercolored her in with Flirty Flamingo and Gray Granite inks, then used the Pets die to cut her out:

I mounted her on a Stitched Shape circle of Misty Moonlight and added a Flirty Flamingo scallop along with some FF hearts!  The sentiment came from the Sweet Ice Cream set.  Here's the inside, using a sentiment from Pampered Pets:

I am also entering this in Global Design Project's Animal Challenge, as well as the Krafty Chicks CAS Challenge:!

And here's an old picture of my favorite kitty, sleeping in our bathroom sink, LOL!

Thanks so much for popping in today...enjoy it and be blessed!

Paper Players 497 Two Pampered Pets

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Hope your weekend is going well so far!  It's time for another Paper Players challenge with Claire as our hostess and she's got a fun sketch for us:

I needed a couple of cards this week, and both recipients are dog lovers, so I pulled out my Pampered Pets set and went to work!  When a set comes with coordinating DSP, I sometimes have trouble thinking of other colors to work with it, so I forced myself to use a different color when making my first, card, a pet sympathy one:

I used Highland Heather and Basic Black as my accent colors, stamping the pup on Whisper White and diecutting him out, then adding some shading and a purple collar.  For the vertical pies, I diecut the center pawprint on a narrow strip of white cardstock, then backed it with some Basic Black.  I also stamped a couple of hearts on the DSP and added some baker's twine:

I taped off a portion of the sentiment, using this part for the front:

And the bottom portion for the inside:

My second card uses the same layout, but different papers; I was pretty sure I was using Real Red DSP but my photo makes it look more like Melon Mambo...hopefully the recipient won't notice!  I used some Smoky Slate blends to color in the dog and his dish; I used a Sweetly Stitched scallop mat, and the vertical piece on this one was embossed with one of the Greenery embossing folders:

I used this sentiment for the front, diecutting it with a Tasteful Label die:

And this was on the inside!  And they're both already in the mail!

I hope you'll play along with Claire's fun sketch this week!  Be sure to check out everybody's creations at the Paper Players blog, then get to work and share yours too!  See you there!  If you need any details about the ingredients in my card, just shoot me an email!
