Happy Sunday, peeps! Hope your weekend is going well so far! It's time for another
Paper Players challenge with Claire as our hostess and she's got a fun sketch for us:
I needed a couple of cards this week, and both recipients are dog lovers, so I pulled out my Pampered Pets set and went to work! When a set comes with coordinating DSP, I sometimes have trouble thinking of other colors to work with it, so I forced myself to use a different color when making my first, card, a pet sympathy one:
I used Highland Heather and Basic Black as my accent colors, stamping the pup on Whisper White and diecutting him out, then adding some shading and a purple collar. For the vertical pies, I diecut the center pawprint on a narrow strip of white cardstock, then backed it with some Basic Black. I also stamped a couple of hearts on the DSP and added some baker's twine:
I taped off a portion of the sentiment, using this part for the front:
And the bottom portion for the inside:
My second card uses the same layout, but different papers; I was pretty sure I was using Real Red DSP but my photo makes it look more like Melon Mambo...hopefully the recipient won't notice! I used some Smoky Slate blends to color in the dog and his dish; I used a Sweetly Stitched scallop mat, and the vertical piece on this one was embossed with one of the Greenery embossing folders:
I used this sentiment for the front, diecutting it with a Tasteful Label die:
And this was on the inside! And they're both already in the mail!
I hope you'll play along with Claire's fun sketch this week! Be sure to check out everybody's creations at the
Paper Players blog, then get to work and share yours too! See you there! If you need any details about the ingredients in my card, just shoot me an email!
