AHSC668 LOVE

Happy Monday, everyone! Still in the deep freeze here in SE PA, our church lost power yesterday so we had to stay in!!  Hopefully this week we will get some above-freezing temperatures!

The Atlantic Hearts sketch this week is one of my favorites:

My proportions are a wee bit different, but basically the same idea!  Here we go:

I had lots of scraps from the Made With Love DSP papers, and if you have a 1 1/4" square punch, you can whip up this sketch in a flash!  I mounted all the squares on a 4 x 5 1/4" mat, then added a 2 1/2" Square of Pretty in Pink on which to place my diecut hearts and "Love" sentiment!  Then it all went on a Real Red card base:

The pink panel was embossed with the new Lovely Stripes EF (be careful--it embosses DEEPLY and your paper might actually tear!) and added a heart from the retired Be Mine dies.  The love is from Simon Says Stamp, diecut in retired Sweet Sorbet.  The final embellishment was a red glitter heart.  On the inside, I used some sentiments from an old set called PS: I Love You:

I have almost all my Valentines addressed and ready to go...maybe I'll save this one for someone extra-special, LOL!  I hope you'll play along with our sketch today!  We can't wait to see what you create--share it with us at Atlantic Hearts!

AHSC666 Non-Traditional Valentine

Happy Monday, peeps! Did everyone survive the snowstorms?  We didn't have as much snow as predicted--maybe 8" or so, but it was VERY cold and windy!  John will tackle the clearing today while I stay inside and cheer him on!

It's time for another Atlantic Hearts sketch and I decided to make another Valentine card, this time in non-traditional colors!  Here's the sketch:

I had some DSP left from last year's Wildflower Birthday, so I cut three panels, adhered them to a Pool Party card base and added some gold foil accents!  Here we go:

The gold hearts are from Be Mine Stitched Framelits and the little swirls are from Patterned Pumpkins.  It's such a challenge to photograph the foil!  The sentiment, stamped in Pool Party ink, is from PS: I Love You, diecut with the Stylish Shapes dies:

I added some Pool Party and Gold gems for fun.  On the inside, a couple more sentiments from PS:I Love You:

This is really a simple card, but I love the colors!  I hope you'll play along with our Atlantic Hearts sketch this week.  Be sure to check out all the DT samples on Wednesday at the blog!

Eden was not a happy camper; the snow really put a damper on her outdoor activities!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

From My Heart to Yours

Happy Friday, everyone! And a love-filled Happy Valentine's Day to all my dear stamping friends out there! I've gotten several beautiful cards already! How fun!  My card today is for my own special Valentine!  I used the Just Add Ink sketch as well as the challenge to use red from Little Red Wagon:

I pulled out some older retired goodies and went to work:

I used the Perennial Postage dies to cut out my little postage stamp elements, backed them with some retired red DSP and stamped some Valentine-ish images and sentiments on each one! I think my favorite might be the chocolate-covered strawberry!  Yum! I added the little numbers (rather crookedly, I admit) with a tiny little peg stamp called Simple Serif:

I backed it on a piece of Basic White, embossed with the Dotted Circles embossing folder and then put it on an Early Espresso card base.  I forgot to take a picture of the inside, and it's already sealed in an envelope, so you'll have to just imagine!

Thanks for popping in today, I hope you have a wonderful day with those whom you love!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS669 Be My Valentine

Happy Friday, peeps! I have been MIA, just haven't felt much like posting lately!  This cold still has me down!  I was intrigued by the sketch from FMS though and just had to play along:

I pulled out an older SU set called PS: I Love You, and paired it with the Adoring Hearts hybrid folder & die, as well as an older embossing folder to create my Valentine card:

I diecut three hearts and backed them with three Real Red hearts to make them stand out a bit from the embossed background.  I stamped the punched the sentiment in Real Red as well:

And I jazzed up the inside a swell:

I am also entering this at Krafty Chicks, where their challenge is Clean and Simple:

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP577 Be My Valentine

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Time for a new Paper Players challenge with Laurie as our hostess!  I am sure we're all gearing up for Valentine's day, and if you don't celebrate that, we can always use a card for a friend!

I wasn't going to do it, but I broke down and bought some Sweet Talk DSP...it's really quite cute and has fun colors in it!  I paired with a retired SU set called PS: I Love You:

I used the sketch from Atlantic Hearts so I could play with several different patterns of the DSP!

After adhering the strips to my Basic White card front, I made a little envelope with some Pool Party DSP, then fussy-cut some of the hearts and candy from one of the DSP sheets and tucked them into the envelope, adding some bling for fun:

I stamped and punched out the sentiment, then added another little piece of candy.  I whooshed some Wink of Stella on it to match the sparkle in the Organdy ribbon!

And of course, I stamped a Valentine sentiment on the inside as well!  Hmmm, I wonder who will receive this Valentine?!  And I hope you'll be inspired to create a Valentine or friendship card of your own with us this week!  Be sure to share it at the Paper Players and while you're there, check out the amazing samples the DT created as well!  Thanks for popping in today!

Despite the cold temps we've been having, my little orchid is blooming!  And there are more blooms to come, I hope!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS521 Love You

Happy rainy, wet Friday, peeps!  I know some of you are getting snow, but here in PA, it's just RAIN.  Anyway, it's always good to stay inside and stamp when it's raining, right?! I used my friend Linda's sketch at FMS to create a cute little Valentine card!  Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

I used some old stuff and some new stuff!  The DSP is Polished Pink; the diecut hearts are Poppy Parade, cut with the Love Notes (ret) die, and the sentiment is from PS:I Love You (also ret).  The horizontal piece is some washi tape I got as a gift, and the bottom portion is embossed with the Dotty Hearts EF.  I added some Pierced Blooms flowers and a little punched heart as well:

Fun sketch!!

I had a few people ask about recycling cards to St Jude's, so I am sharing the address to which the card fronts can be sent. (Do not send the whole card, just the front!  You can find out more details on the St Jude's website.) They will not accept Hallmark, American Greetings or Disney cards, just so you know!

St Jude's Ranch for Children
Card Recyling Program
100 St Jude Street
Boulder City, NV  89005

And on a non-stamping note, my friend gave me this little "cake" of yarn...it's to knit (or crochet) a yarn hamburger!!!

Anyone for a burger?  This is the first one I made; the second one I "stuffed" a little fuller and it looks a little more realistic, if you can say a knitted item could ever really look like a burger!  But it was fun!  Wayne's nephews like playing with their toy stove and kitchen, so they'll be able to put hamburgers on their menu!

Thanks for popping by today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Two Baby Cards for CASCSC308

Hi everyone!  Hope your week is going by nicely!  I think we are finally out of this snowy, rainy, sleety wet weather we've been having!  Keeping my fingers crossed anyway!

I needed two baby cards this week; one for a friend who welcomed a little boy into their family of two boys and four girls, and another for a friend who became a first-time grandmother, welcoming a little girl!  I used the CAS Colours and Sketches sketch for both of them:

So here we go:

My camera captured these colors a bit wonky; in real life, they match nicely!  I used the Be Mine framelits and a retired heart punch to create my trio of hearts, and I used two retired sets, PS:  I Love You for the Blushing Bride stamped heart, and Suite Sayings for the sentiment.  I added another little piece of MFT gingham to peek out under the scalloped bottom too!   I heat-embossed the sentiment on some vellum and tucked a little Powder Pink ribbon behind it to "peek" through:

I combined two sentiments to stamp the inside as well:

The boy card is the same, except I used Balmy Blue, some Marina Mist ribbon and I didn't add the scallop at the bottom.  I substituted some Gingham Gala sequins for the pearls!

I am also entering this in the Stamp Ink Paper challenge this week, which is vellum!

Happy that you popped it today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Cassidy made a "snow chair"...looks like she is definitely chillin'!

PP379 Be My Valentine

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Happy Super Bowl day!  Lots of busyness going on today, so this will be short and sweet!  Claire is our Paper Players hostess with a theme of Be My Valentine!  I have combined my Valentine with the Freshly Made Sketches sketch:

(I know I didn't put the sentiment in the right place for the challenge, so if they kick me out, that's fine!  But I just thought it looked better where it was! )  I am in love with this Bo Bunny Petal Lane paper, so I used a couple more sheets of it to create my card today:

I diecut a heart from black glimmer paper, then hand-trimmed the inside to create a frame.  Flowers from Jar of Love, stamped in Strawberry Slush and Crushed Curry adorn the heart; I added some little gray springs and tucked a few little sequins around the bouquet as well; the sentiment is from the same set:

The "love" diecut is also from glimmer paper, it's from Simon Says Stamp.  On the inside, I used a sentiment from PS:  I Love You, and since I had a couple extra flowers, added them as well!

And since the word prompt this week from Just Us Girls is "love", I am entering my card there as well!

I am sure you've got lots of heart-themed stamps, so get to work and show us your Valentines!  Share them at the Paper Players, where you can see the design team's work and be inspired!  Now, GO EAGLES!!!

Cassidy's Eagles green hairdo for school on Friday!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Paper Players 377 CAS Love Notes

Hi peeps!  It's Sunday and that means another Paper Players challenge; this week Joanne is our hostess with a clean and simple Love Notes challenge:

There has been some chatter on a few blogs that I frequent about using older stamps....pros and cons!  I admit to keeping LOTS of older stamps while trying to keep up with new styles, and it's tough!  But I reached into the vault and dusted off this cute silhouette stamp...I don't even know the name of the set, as I got this at a yard sale a few years back....of a sweet little girl and her puppy, posting a love note, and I thought it would be perfect for the clean and simple challenge Joanne chose:

Since I don't have my Stamparatus yet, I used my Misti to ink up the image in Basic Black, stamping a few times to get a good image, then diecut it with a stitched square die from Lil'Inker:

The sentiment is from another oldie set, PS: I Love You (one of my all-time favs) and it was stamped on a tag diecut with a die from Pretty Pink Posh, and embellished with an enamel heart, and finally some black and white gingham:

On the inside, I used sentiments from this month's Paper Pumpkin, stamped in Real Red and Smoky Slate:

I hope you play along!  There are lots of great samples created by the design team; be sure to check them out:

Friday was Eagles spirit day, and Cassidy resorted to wearing one of Wayne's shirts and hat to school since she doesn't have any Eagle apparel of her own!

Tonight will be the deciding factor; if they win, they go to the Super Bowl!  If not, they still had an awesome season...and I don't even really care about football, but I've at least got to support my local team!!!  Have a good day and be blessed!
