CAS Leafy Hello

Happy Friday, peeps!  Do you have something fun planned for the weekend?  Hope so!  I'll be seeing some stamping friends tomorrow and I am looking forward to that!  Today I have a really simple card using some "fall" products!  Here we go:

I love that the Stitched Leaves dies leave stitching around the outside diecut but I don't usually get to use that part of my cardstock, so I wanted to highlight that on my card today.  I backed it with some Plaid Tidings DSP, on which I embossed the inner leaf stitching part of the die as well.  To finish it off, I added some matching leaves (never have seen a blue leaf, but I'll say it's artistic license!)

The leaves are from the Beautiful Autumn bundle, stamped in Misty Midnight, Poppy Parade and Cinnamon Cider, and punched out with the matching punch.  The sentiment is from Life is Beautiful!  And since it's clean and simple, I am entering it at the Krafty Chicks and The Spot challenges:

And it also fits the Festive Friday challenge of plaid, ribbon and diecuts:

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Gnomie Halloween

Happy Monday!!  My card today was so fun to create, and it was a CASE of this card by Denita Wright-Smee, and I fell in love with it!  So here we go:

I wasn't going to get the Gnome for the Holidays set, but it seemed like a cute set to color in so I did, and I'm glad!  I colored this wee little gnome with some Halloween colors and added a tiny pumpkin from the Trio of Tags die, backed with some golden glimmer paper!  I wanted to add a little more depth to the Woodland embossing, so after embossing a piece of Basic Black with my folder, I sponged on some Craft White ink, highlighting the trees.  I added a little path with some Smoky Slate cardstock, cut with the hill die from In the Woods and stamped the circles and shadow from Life is Beautiful:

I added a crescent moon from the same gold glimmer paper:

And I added the second pumpkin to the top of one of the tags from Tags Tags Tags for the inside sentiment, along with a sentiment from Banner Year:

This card makes me smile, and I had fun making it!  And because it's a wee bit spooky, I am squeaking it in to the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge:

Thanks for visiting today!

The family went to Hershey Park this weekend--the Sweetest Place on Earth! Cassidy took her karate  friend Avery, who is a daredevil and loves roller coasters!  Cassidy.....not so much, so Avery went with Wayne!  But they all had a blast!

Of course this picture cracks me up....Dana is not a fan of roller coasters either!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP512 Colors by Ann

Hello, stampers!  Ann is our Paper Players hostess this week with a lovely fall palette:

I knew I wanted to create something with some fall leaves, and since I've been happily perusing my older stamps lately, I pulled out French Foliage...one of my favorites...along with French Script, and went to work:

I started with a Naturals White square card base, added a layer of Cajun Craze and a layer of Cinnamon Cider, stamped with the French Script stamp and shaded with a sponge.  The skeleton leaf panel is a new one to me; it's from Sweet n Sassy and I sponged several colors on it before inking it up.  Finally, I stamped the leaves in Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry, fussy-cutting them out and layering them in the corner.  The sentiment was also fussy-cut and popped up, and I added some enamel dots for embellishment:

The sketch I used is from Inkspire Me:

And since it's a large square card, I also made my own envelope using some retired DSP and the retired Envelope Punch Board!  I hope you'll play along with our pretty fall colors this week!  Be sure to check out what the Design Team has created with them as well...you'll find them all at the Paper Players!  Thanks for popping in today!

Here's a lone little leaf I found on one of my walks:

The leaves are finally beginning to turn!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI236 Speedy Butterfly

Happy Friday, everyone!  It's time for the weekend, and time for a new As You See It challenge!  Here's our theme for this week:

I totally missed the SPEED STAMPING part of this challenge when I first looked at it, so my first card was "disqualified"!!!  I'll show it to you later in the post! So I got out my supplies, set my timer and went to work, and came up with this:

I used a thick white cardstock base, added a strip of Ornate Garden Specialty Paper at an angle, stamped the butterfly from Positive Thoughts on some watercolor paper with Stazon ink and diecut it out:

I watercolored it with Flirty Flamingo ink, then stamped a sentiment from Beautiful Day at an angle as well, so it fits with the Inkspirational Challenge this week of Angle It!

I also added a rhinestone to the top of the butterfly, which added about a minute to my time, since I couldn't decide which color to use!  Altogether, my time was 4:45!  Not bad!  I did have everything ready to go so, and it was a very simple layout...but it just goes to show that you don't need a lot of time and supplies to make an awesome card!  Now here's the "disqualified" card which definitely took more than 10 minutes to create:

Same stamp set, but I did a watercolor background, added some ribbon and gold trim, and a sentiment from Life is Beautiful.  The colors I used were Mint Macaron, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze, so I am entering this one in the Global Design Project's challenge as well!

Be sure to check out what the other designers did with their speed stamping!  Then get out your supplies and do some speedy stamping of your own and share it with us as well on the As You See It blog!  Thanks for popping in today!

It's been sunny but cool here in the mornings in SE PA; I took this picture the other morning as I sat on the porch to read my Bible and drink my coffee:

I love how you can see the steam rising!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Life is Beautiful X Two

Happy Labor Day to all my American friends! I am a little late today....I've been "laboring" all morning in the garden and the laundry room, LOL!  Too bad those green beans, peppers and tomatoes didn't take a vacation, too!

I made these two cards before going on vacation, so I thought I would share them today; they both use the new set Life is Beautiful!  So here we go:

Both cards use DSPs from Plaid Tidings; for the fall one, I stamped directly onto the DSP.  The trunk is Crumb Cake and the leaves are Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Terracotta Tile.  I couldn't really figure out if the leaf stamp nestled a certain way into the tree branches, so I just stamped away, and I like the effect...like leaves blowing in the wind!

The sentiment is from the same set, stamped in Cherry Cobbler to coordinate with the mat around the DSP.  The second one is a Christmas card; the tree is stamped in Misty Moonlight and the snowflakes are stamped with Seaside Spray:

I stamped a sentiment from Toile Christmas in Poppy Parade and diecut it and another banner with the matching dies.  I also added a couple little "swirls" in Seaside Spray to add to the wintery feeling:

That's it for today...back to the beans and laundry!  Thanks for popping in today!  Before I go, here's a couple shots of Cassidy and family on a recent nature hike to Ferncliff Wildlife and Wildflower Preserve:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP502 Love and Laughter

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Time for a new Paper Players challenge with mother-of the groom Laurie as our hostess:

This one had me stumped a little bit, as we don't go to many weddings at our age, and my anniversary is in January, although I do have a niece and nephew that are still single....anyway, it's always good to have something lovey-dovey on hand!  So here we go:

I started with the Case This Sketch sketch for this week:

and the stamps I chose were the tree from the new upcoming set called Life is Beautiful, along with a sentiment from Forever Fern.  First, I stamped the tree in Cinnamon Cider on a Very Vanilla card base as well as a piece of Crumb Cake DSP:

The wee little tips of the outer branches extend beyond the DSP, so I wanted the whole tree to show.  I searched through some old Paper Pumpkin Valentine stamps and found some hearts, and stamped them in Real Red, Merry Merlot and Cherry Cobbler, then diecut a cardstock heart in each of the same colors for my accents.

The sentiment was stamped in Cherry Cobbler and diecut with a stitched die from Ornate Layers...such a versatile set!  I left the inside blank so I can add an appropriate sentiment when the occasion arises!

I hope you'll play along with our challenge this week!  Be sure to stop by the Paper Players blog to see the lovely creations the other designers made!

All Things Fabulous for Summer

Hello, peeps, and happy Monday!  I am getting a laaaate start today, but it is Monday, after all!  I have a birthday card I made for a special friend who loves the ocean!  It uses the sketch from Fusion Card Challenge and the theme from Global Design Project:

So here we go:

So, this whole card was a bit of an experiment!  I recently got SU's stencils, and I wanted to play with them, so I stencilled the leafy pattern in Pool Party on some Whisper White cardstock, and added some of the "leaves" (that look like bubbles to me) from the new Life is Beautiful set.  They are stamped very lightly, but maybe you can see them here:

I added some Soft Seafoam seaweed using a die from Smooth Sailing and three little sand dollars from Seaside Notions:

They were stamped in Sahara Sand on white cardstock, and to give them a wee bit of color, I also brayered them to color them, then added a little darker color with an aquapainter.  My sentiment is from All Things Fabulous, stamped in Pool Party and I used the Banners Pick a Punch to notch the edges:

The last thing was to add a couple of sequins, and mount it on a Pool Party base.  And since my base is a non-neutral, I am squeaking this in at the last minute for the Seize the Birthday challenge, as well as the Always Fun Challenge of stencils!:

Thanks so much for popping in today!!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
