Quick FMS137

DSCF3279

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Just popping in for a quick little card today using the Freshly Made Sketches sketch from this week, and trying to show some love to some DP that will soon be retiring!  First, the sketch from Jen:

And here’s my jiffy card:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Label Love Birthday FMS Stampin UP

I couldn’t wait to get this vintage-looking Soho Subway paper and I haven’t used it for a long time!  I am always in need of masculine birthday cards, so I thought this would fit the bill.  The sentiment is from Label Love, and although it’s hard to see, I used the zigzag from Work of Art on the circular element.  I also used some of the new thicker baker’s twine in Baked Brown Sugar…it’s a great product if you are looking for a “natural” look!    I also added a wee bit of additional grunge on the papers with Gorgeous Grunge!

I’ll take a couple seconds to show off DH, as he was in our little local Memorial Day parade this morning:

It was a beautiful day and a perfect way to remember those who served our country!  And any time I can listen to a bagpiper is a good time for me!

Be sure to come back tomorrow where I’ll be the hostess for the Paper Players

MLS301 with Fresh Prints

DSCF1006

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Have you shoveled out from under the snow and ice the east coast received this week?  More due tonight, I hear!  Yikes!  Spring cannot come too soon, right?  I had some stampy time on Thursday (a big snow day!) and I was determined to use up some scraps from the little pack of Fresh Prints that I had…..it seems like it goes on forever!  What a great value!  My first card uses Mary Jo’s Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch 301:
and I also put to use a SAB set, Banner Blast:

I stamped the banners twice and punched them out, cutting off the points and adhering them together under the red ribbon to make them a bit longer.  I added stars and a sentiment from Make A Wish to finish it off.  My friend has ordered some birthday cards, so this will be a good start!  And here are the rest, just using scraps of the Fresh Prints pad:

Now I think I am ready for a different color combo!  Come back tomorrow when you’ll see my Paper Players creation….I am the hostess, too!  Can’t wait!

A little snow fun:

Since the snow was too deep to sled, Grampy made a ramp using the snow from the driveway!  It worked great!  Good thing we got some sledding time in, as this is now all scooped away with Uncle Raymond’s tractor!

Once inside, instead of hot chocolate, some hot vanilla (warm milk, sugar and vanilla):

JUGS 222 & SRC 209

DSCF0151

Yay, it’s Thursday—almost Friday!  I haven’t played with the JUGS girls for a while, and I loved their sketch this week….love my “threes”…..and it gave me a chance to use (again) some more Retro Fresh DP!  Here’s the sketch:

And here’s my card:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Label Love Birthday STampin Up

This is really straightforward; the paper does most of the work!  I stamped the birthday image from Label Love in Soft Suede and punched it out with the Artisan Label punch, then it was mounted on an Apothecary Accent diecut, on which I stamped the lines from Gorgeous Grunge and shaded the edges:

I finished it with a banner embellished with some Retro Fresh washi tape!  Fun!  I think this is great for a  masculine birthday!  This also qualifies for the Stampin’ Royalty challenge this week, which is birthdays!  Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy decided to give Grampy a haircut with the tools from her toolbox, although this looks more like she is piercing his ear with pliers:

I’m telling you…that Grampy is a good sport!  (It didn't hurt as much as he let on, LOL!)

Make It Monday 137

DSCF7792

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  The Kraft Journal has a sketch for us this week!  Here it is:

I had gotten a sweet little pad of 6x6 fall papers by Simple Stories, and I couldn’t wait to dive into it!  The patchwork and gingham made me think of the Perfectly Preserved set, so I mixed them all up and this is what came out:

DSCF7791

It’s a little more “fussy” than I usually do, but I think it’s kinda fun!  Here’s some closeups:

DSCF7793DSCF7794

And while I was at it, I made some mini cards; just a quarter sheet of Crumb Cake cardstock folded in half with some Gingham wheel accents and some small images from the same paper pad:

The sentiment is from A Dozen Thoughts….they make cute little notecards to tuck into someone’s lunch or gift bag!  When I get my Envelope Punch Board, I can make envelopes too!  It’s on my next order!

Have a happy day!

Paper Players 162 X 2

DSCF7765

Happy Sunday, everyone!  It’s time for another Paper Players challenge, and today I am the hostess with a color challenge:

It’s fun to change things up, since there are so many fall-themed creations out there in blogland, so I went for a different palette!  And I made two cards; couldn't decide which I liked most!   My first card is pretty CAS:

I used some ribbon to create a washi effect, and just added a simple sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts:

Isn’t that a sweet font?

My next card was totally CASEd by the wickedly wonderful Wendy Weixler after seeing this card on Pinterest.  I have been waiting for just the right moment to make one like it and I thought these colors were perfect, especially since SU has a bundle special for the Papillon Potpourri set and the butterfly punch!  So here we go:

LeAnne Pugliese Paper Players 163 WeeInklings Papillon Potpourri

This card is way more blinged up than I usually make!  I started by scoring my white cardstock at 1 1/4”, then stamped the floral image from Blooming with Kindness and sponged all the raised scores.  I added a couple of borders, some ribbon, a sentiment and background from Lovely Labels and of course, some glittery, rhinestone-y butterflies that were stamped with Stazon on vellum:

Now, what will you create with my colors?  Can’t wait to see!  Share it with us at The Paper Players blog and check out what the other designers did as well:
And did you know today is Grandparents' Day?!!!!
