AYSI170 Take Two Pink Poinsettia

Hi everyone!  Happy Friday!  I can't help being a wee little bit disappointed because we haven't had any participants in our latest As You See It Sketch, which I thought was really fun!  So I decided to do a second card, this time a Christmas card, and it also uses the poinsettia prompt from JoAnn at Merry Monday:

I went non-traditional with my poinsettia from Joyful Christmas, coloring it with Sweet Sugarplum ink after embossing it with gold embossing powder on Shimmery White cardstock.  Here we go:

It's too bad the photo doesn't really capture how pretty this is....I used a piece of Brushed Gold cardstock for my square panel, and the lacy image from Touches of Texture, stamped in Gold Encore ink, for my vertical image:

I added some sequins and a little burlap ribbon for an organic feel, then added a sentiment in Sweet Sugarplum on the inside:

I hope this will inspire you to play with our sketch this week....there are so many interesting possibilities with it!!  Show us yours at As You See It!

No Cassidy pictures today, but I did snap this before I went into the post office...our postmaster really keeps his flower beds neat and tidy, and it's proof that spring actually will arrives SOMEtime!:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

MM237 and GDP076 Poinsettia Christmas

Whee, it's Wednesday...the week is half over!  AND it's March first! I am keeping up with my Christmas card-creating, so at the end of the year, I should be in good shape!  Today's card uses the Merry Monday prompt of "Shimmer and Sparkle", as well as the Global Design Project sketch, which is to CASE the talened Kylie Bertucci's card:

Stampin' Up! came out with this gorgeous poinsettia stamp a couple years ago called Joyful Christmas; I thought it would be pretty in lieu of the florals that Kylie used!  Here's my take on her sketch:

I used Versamark and Real Red ink to stamp each image on watercolor paper, then embossed them with clear embossing powder, making sure I cleaned my stamp well between each inking!  Then I watercolored the florals with Watermelon Wonder, Real Red and Cherry Cobbler inks...and you know me, I always "loosely" watercolor!

I colored the centers with a Zig Painty gold pen; added some Encore Gold speckles, gold sequins, and heat-embossed the "Christmas" from Time of Year with Encore Gold ink and Gold Glory embossing powder:

The "merry" is from a Paper Pumpkin kit, I believe from Christmas 2015.  A wee bit of gold thread peeks out from behind the sentiment as well, and I used Real Red glimmer paper for a little mat and gold foil for the card front!  Although this is a little more flashy than my usual style, I think it's pretty!  It certainly sparkles and shimmers!

Trying out a bus stop selfie with my new phone!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

JB16:23 Blue Christmas

Happy Monday, everyone!  I am exhausted!  I am glad that Monday is here so I can rest....it was a busy weekend, LOL!  I had made this card for another challenge but decided to go in another direction, so I'll share it today.  It also fills the criteria for the Jingle Belles challenge to have a floral Christmas card!  So here we go:

I pulled out a couple of oldies for this one!  The French Script background was partially inked up with Pool Party ink and stamped on a Very Vanilla cardbase.  I stamped the poinsettia from Joyful Christmas in Gold Encore ink on vellum cardstock, then heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder.  I sponged Island Indigo and Bermuda Bay on the back of the poinsettia, dried it with my heat gun, then cut it out and mounted on the card with some gold twine behind.

The Noel (Christmas Pines) was stamped in Bermuda Bay and I did add some Gold Encore speckles as well.  The final touch was a couple of gold embellishments from the Stitched with Love card kit...getting my money's worth from that kit!

That's it for today...no Cass pictures as she was at her daddy's this weekend!  A busy week ahead too...'tis the season!  Enjoy and be blessed!

Watercolor Poinsettia

DSCF9201-001

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  What a whirlwind week I have had….four stamping events within a week’s time!  But I had fun---two clubs and two camps—and now I can start stamping just for me!!  I had ten minutes before one club started, and I threw this together FAST….stamped the Joyful Christmas poinsettia image on watercolor paper, dabbled on the colors with ink and an aquapainter, stamped the speckle from Gorgeous Grunge, mounted it on a Very Vanilla card base,  and I was finished:

Here’s a closeup of my very loose coloring, LOL!

I did go back later on and add some glitter to the centers…I just thought they looked a wee bit bare!  Thanks for stopping by today!

CAS Christmas Stamp Camp Cards

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I am paying the price for this wonderful fall weather with some icky allergy symptoms that have me down low….so today I am just sharing the cards we made earlier this week at my Christmas card stamp camp.  As usual, they are very simple, but still pretty and fun to make:

Merry Monday 69

DSCF7072

Happy Monday, peeps!  We are back to our regular sketches at the Merry Monday challenge, and here is what Lesley has for us all today:

Woohoo!  You know how I love things in threes!  This card went together quickly, too, which we always love!  I used images from Jolly Bingo Bits, and the color combo of Soft Sky, Chocolate Chip and Crumb Cake:

I know the images are a wee bit difficult to see, as the Soft Sky is such a soft color, LOL!  But hopefully you can see them enough. I also used some new products from the mini:  the silver ribbon is a joy to play with, and I love the sentiment that comes with the Joyful Christmas set.  I added some sparkle by using my 1 1/4” scallop punch on some silver glimmer paper---adds just the right touch!

I hope you will play along with us….the Anything Goes challenge brought a plethora of wonderful creations, so let’s keep the creativity going!  Be sure to stop by Always Playing with Paper for all the details, to see the current DT’s designs, and to share yours with us as well!  Can’t wait to see it!

We had a “girls’ weekend” at the beach this past Saturday and Sunday!  Even though it was a bit overcast on Saturday, we had a good time and could not get Cassidy out of the water!
