52CCT24-37 Sweet Christmas

Hello stampers!  Happy Saturday! I was chosen to be a Guest Designer at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown...one of my favorite challenges!  This week it's a sketch:

What a fun sketch!  I pulled out some Unity papers, some retired cardstock and stamp sets and went to work!  Here we go:

I created a little frame from Poppy Parade cardstock to frame my little candy cane; there are actually candy canes on the printed paper, but I covered them all up!!! I added some diecut "greenery", a little baker's twine and an enamel "berry"!  The Certainly Celery panel was embossed with the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder too:

I combined two stamp sets to create my sentiment; the "Christmas" is from Impression Obsession's Christmas Words, and the "have a sweet" is from Lawn Fawn's Baked with Love:

And the inside sentiment is from the retired Jar of Cheer:

So much fun to play with all these layers! I hope you'll play along with the challenge too....Christmas will be here before you know it, so if you've not started your holiday cards, I hope this will get you in the mood!  Thanks for popping in today!

Wayne, his brother, his cousin, Dana & Cassidy went to Tampa to see the Eagles play---unfortunately it was NOT a good game for Eagles fans!  It was about 100 degrees, but I think they still had a good time!

Uncle Matt looking goofy in the background!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

MTCC66 Jolly Christmas

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a good weekend! My card today uses the sketch from Make The Cards Challenge:

and since I recently got the Jingle Jingle Jingle set, I though it would be a great sketch to highlight one of those fun sentiments!  So here we go:

I stamped the Jolly outline in the retired Emerald Envy ink and the inner portion in Poppy Parade.  I tried to get the other words in the set to fit on my Stitched Nested Label panel, but it just wasn't working, so I ended up adding some words from an older Christmas set (I believe it's from My Favorite Things but it's not marked) and embellishing the panel with some stamped images from Jingle set:

I added another Emerald Envy panel, trimmed, behind my main panel to mimic the shape in the sketch a little better.  Another older set, Jar of Cheer, provided the inside sentiment!

This was a fun set to use and easy to line up, so I am sure you'll be seeing more of it!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Paper Players 327

Hi everyone!  It's time for another Paper Players challenge, and Sandy has chosen a cool color challenge for us...I always love these!

In fact, I already had all these pieces laying on my desk, just waiting to be assembled, so this was an easy one for me!  I got some new goodies right after Christmas, and this pretty Cottage Cutz die was one of them:

It's a little fussy to get all the pieces out, but it's worth the time!  I mounted it on a stitched oval and used some black and white snowflake paper from my stash!  Of course, some red glimmer paper and sparkly baker's twine always are fun too!  And I added a little snowman from Jar of Cheer on the inside with my sentiment:

Hope you'll have time to play with us this week....be sure to check out what the DT came up with as well!

FMS267 Silent Night

Happy Friday, peeps!  Still making Christmas cards....I keep finding people that I missed, if you know what I mean, LOL!  I whipped up this card yesterday morning before my Bible study to give to my leader...it uses the FMS sketch from Jen:

So here we go:

I had been toying around with this idea in my head for a couple of days; I still had my Sugar Pea Designs Nativity die on my desk, so I cut it out in white, then trimmed it with a square Stitched Shapes die.  I cut out another square from Dapper Denim and stamped some speckles (Jar of Cheer) for "stars" in Craft White ink.  I then layered them together, creating a rectangle! The retired Jingle All the Way supplied the sentiment of "silent night".  I added a little glimmer paper scallop at the bottom and a star at the top:

And I finished it off on the inside with this sentiment from Papertrey's O Holy Night:

Thanks for popping in today!

MM475 Jar of Cheer

Happy Wednesday, all!  This will be quick, as Thanksgiving eve is upon us and I have a flurry of things to do!  I chose the Mojo Monday sketch for my Christmas card today:

It's kind of sad that I have SO MUCH STUFF that pretty papers like these get forgotten...but then I get happy when I "find" them again!  These are the This Christmas Specialty papers, and they are so pretty with the new Jar of Cheer set:

I stamped the jar in Smoky Slate and everything else in Basic Gray, then used my aquapainter and inks to color in the ornaments and greenery.  It's too bad you cannot see the shimmer from the Wink of Stella pen...it looks really pretty IRL!  I added a bow from Jar of Love, stamped in Cherry Cobbler, because I thought it looked better than the striped bow that came with the set.

I stamped a sentiment from Stitched with Cheer, also in Basic Gray, right on the DSP and used a Cherry Cobbler banner to fill in the letters a wee bit:

I usually find coloring in images that large a bit tedious, but it was very relaxing today!  I need relaxing because I will be going full steam ahead today!  Thanks for popping in!

We had some insanely cold temps and 30-40 mph winds the last few days....my patio was covered with leaves because they had blown off the yard onto the patio!  So Cassidy decided to slide down the cellar door into the leaves....silly girl!

This is what is known as "wind-blown" hair!!  Enjoy your day!
