SSSC259
Sneaking in here with another quick little post today; I needed some thank you cards, and I just loved the Stampin 411 sketch this week:
I stuck to the sketch literally, using the one of the bolder-imaged sheets from the new Floral District DP. I usually tend to use smaller prints, but I really liked this bold one once I started playing around with it:
I used flowers from Itty Bitty Bits and popped them up; the sentiment is from Tiny Tags, and it is topped off (or maybe I should say “bottomed off”) with a pretty stitched Daffodil Delight bow. EASY, fun, cute sketch!
Yesterday we had a nice, soft steady rain. I was happy because our garden needed it, and I wouldn’t have to water my new hanging basket I got on Saturday:
Isn’t that amazing? A local Amish market was selling it for a reasonable price, too! THIS is what it looked like this morning when I went outside:
It was literally resting on the ground! I guess the water soaked it so much and the ground was so wet, it just bent over!!! Thanks for visiting today!!

Paper Players 97
Happy Sunday to everyone! I hope you are enjoying your weekend! It is HOT here in PA! I am the hostess at the Paper Players, and today, our challenge is a sketch:
I mixed it up with my card, using a retiring hostess set, Happiest Birthday Wishes, an already-retired set, Sweet Little Sentiments, and an upcoming set, Bright Blossoms:
I’ve been hoarding this floral Domestic Goddess DP (why do we do that?) so I thought I would bring it out since it has my new favorite retiring In Color, Poppy Parade in it! I’ve matched it up with some hostess DP from last year to make a bold, fresh, birthday card for a friend! I popped up the little Pool Party blossoms and sweetened them with some pearls:
and then used one of the new banner dies to cut out my sentiment:
I just love that you can use those banners with lots of different sentiments! Oops, I forgot…that little flower is from Itty Bitty Bits…..it’s just so sweet! I curved my little banner a bit to give it some interest as well! Hope you’ll play along with us and have some fun! Be sure to check out what my teammates at the Paper Players have come up with, too!
Kids invent their own games; why do we buy them toys? Here, Cassidy plays with the cat food. She found it fascinating to take it from the big tub and put it into the little cup:
Thanks for stopping by today!

ColourQ135 & Retro Sketches 9
Happy Tuesday, happy May Day! I combined the ColourQ colors today:
with the Retro Sketches sketch 9:
for my creation this week:
One of my customers just ordered this Fashionable Hearts embosslit, and that got me thinking that it would be a good choice for these fun colors! I also used the Scalloped Heart of Hearts embosslit and the heart Adorning Accents embossing folder! In fact, there’s a lot more embossing on here than there is stamping! The only stamping is the sentiment from Trendy Trees and the heart from Itty Bitty Bits. Some Early Espresso baker’s twine “ties” it all together, and a little Sharpie-colored rhinestone adds a little bling:
The ColourQ courtiers have such a fun bunch of samples, you need to check them all out at the ColourQ blog! I hope you’ll play along with us too! Can’t wait to see what you create!
Cassidy cornered Grampy sitting in the doorway while she was showing him some of her new toys…..the opportunity was just too inviting, so she got a book and said “sit” and she sat in his lap!
Thanks for visiting today!

ColourQ131
Happy Tuesday! Arielle has the sweetest color palette for us today….check this out:
If my creative mojo wasn’t sapped by my 3-week-long sinus infection, I think I could have made a couple of these little Easter baskets myself---just little paper favor cups, I think! Sweet! I had to settle for a plain ole card:
Although I often do things in threes, I was inspired by these pretty cards from my friend Diane’s blog; I just translated it a bit differently. I originally had three eggs placed in different places, but ended up with little flowers from Itty Bitty Bits. The egg is from last year’s Easter Blossoms, and the sentiments are from a retired set called God Bless II. The letters are cut from the Timeless Type die set.
I am also entering this in the Just Add Ink 111 Challenge – Easter; and Stampin’ Royalty’s Spring Thing Challenge #117.
Here’s a non-stamping related question. Check out this pic of the baby:
Can you see the red rash on her cheeks? She has had this for several months, all around her mouth. It does not seem to bother her; I have looked it up online and it seems to be fairly common, but no one knows how to prevent it or heal it, or even what causes it! She is not teething; she doesn’t seem to be allergic to anything. It seems it may be from saliva, but I am interested if any other moms/grandmoms out there have any advice!!! She just had a 18-month check-up at the doctor’s but she was screaming so frantically that I totally forgot to ask the doctor what it might be!! I am interested in hearing your comments!

I Dig You Baby Card
As soon as I saw the “I Dig You” set in the new catalog, I knew I had to have it! Having so many new little boys coming into our family, I could see where it would be put to good use! First off, I needed a baby congrats card, so I went to work!
I used a bunch of fun new In Colors on this card, and did some markering to get the animals popping out of the top of the dump truck:
The background is done using the new Stripes embossing folder and Lucky Limeade ink, and was shown at convention (but I can’t remember by whom!). Ink the embossing folder on the raised side using a brayer and the Limeade ink, then run it through the Big Shot with a square of Whisper White cardstock. Reink the embossing folder, turn the cardstock a quarter turn, making sure the stripes are perpendicular and even, and run it through again. It makes a wonderful embossed “gingham” effect!
I used a tag from Lots of Tags and stamped my sentiment and a little heart from Itty Bitty Bits in Tangerine Tango, anchoring it with a new Polka Dot In Color brad, and added a fun layered sentiment on the inside, using a sentiment from Petite Pairs (I have used that set SO much already!):
Thanks for visiting today!

ColourQ94
Happy Tuesday, peeps! I am still recovering from convention, phew! So much information to absorb! I was happy to get some stamping time in just for fun, using Arielle’s ColourQ colors for today:
Perfect summertime colors, don’t you think? I totally CASEd a card from Kelly the Gingham Girl; I substituted Wild Wasabi for the Green Galore because I wanted to use the Patterns DP that I had, along with my little flag die. What do you think?
I did not put pearls on mine, but just strung the banners along some baker’s twine, then added a button, some embossing and a sentiment from Happiest Birthday Wishes:
Check out the inside:
I used my markers to color in this fun sentiment from the same set!
I hope you’ll find these yummy summer colors to your liking and that you’ll play along with us. Sashay on over to the CQC blog and strut your stuff; you might just be crowned the QUEEN!

CAS Melons
Two quick CAS cards today, both using scraps from the Melon Mambo and Rose RedPatterns DP that I used on my scrapbook page shown here. I love it when you can stretch your supplies! Okay, here’s the first one:
I used the negative portion of the Fun Flowers diecut to create a framed piece and added some retired dotted ribbon. The sentiment is from a hostess set called Afterthoughts. There is actually another part of the sentiment – “I love being spoiled” – which I didn’t really care for, so I cut that off and adhered it to the side of the wood block. I can still use it if I want, but I love the clean look of the “Thanks” all by itself! Another card:
I picked up this cute stamp at my local Amish stamp store on Saturday, stamped it once in Melon Mambo on textured white and again on my Patterns scraps…cut out the hearts and paper-pieced them into the design, then added a scallop and a couple more stamped hearts from Itty Bitty Bits, and I have a quick Valentine!
Be sure to stop back tomorrow for the ColourQ!!! More snow is on the way! Oh joy! And don’t forget that there is still time to enter the Paper Players blog hop – see my link here.
