Neutral Merry Christmas

Happy Friday, peeps!  A quick card today, amping up my Christmas card stash!  Here we go:

The paper does most of the work here!  All the print papers are from Echo Park's Christmas Delivery; I embossed a piece of Basic Gray with a little snowflake pattern, then added my gold-embossed sentiment and added a gold foil snowflake and pearl embellishments:

And I am entering this in three challenges:  House of Cards' Gold and Pearl color challenge:

The sketch from Christmas Card Throwdown:

And the Simply Neutrals Tuesday challenge, (although compared to the other submissions, mine is rather paltry!!!):

GDP158 and HOC Sunflower Get Well

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I should be running out the door instead of stamping...procraftination for sure!  I was bound and determined to make a card for the GDP sketch this week:

and I really wanted to use the color/inspiration from House of Cards:

I knew the sunflower from Painted Harvest  would be too big but I remembered this cute little sunflower from last year's Paper Pumpkin:

I stamped it in Crushed Curry and Chocolate Chip, then added speckles from Itty Bitty Backgrounds:

A sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings along with some Festive Farmhouse twine finished it off!  Oh, and I stamped my Crumb Cake background with the Buffalo Check background stamp!  Thanks for popping in!

It's another gray, cloudy day here, but these wee ones are my sunshine:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS333 and HOC April Wedding Love

Happy Saturday, peeps!  It's wedding day for John's nephew Philip, so my card today is a wedding card using the FMS sketch by Narelle and (again) the House of Cards challenge, this time the colors:

I remembered that her shower invite was florals in wine and pinks, so I found some papers from Authentique called Grateful, and went to work with my Altenew Painted Flowers set:

I stamped the flowers on some Rustic White (Papertrey) cardstock in Sweet Sugarplum, Berry Burst, Wild Wasabi and Basic Black nks; the sentiment is from an Avery Elle stamp called Peonies.  I added some scalloped mats and a few sequins:

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from God's Blessings (ret) and added just the outline stamp of the flower in Sweet Sugarplum...I really like that effect!

Thanks for popping in today!  Be sure to stop back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge too!

A little origami activity:

A penguin and a giraffe...not a good photo but you get the idea!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI174 Something I Borrowed

Happy Friday, peeps!  It's time for another As You See It challenge!  Here's a fun one:  Something I Borrowed!  Yikes!

No automatic alt text available.

I have so many stamps, I rarely borrow anything!!  But I did borrow this stamp set from my sister (another one from 1997!) called Bees and Blossoms; I always loved it and she rarely stamps any more, even though she does raise bees!  So my luck!  Here is my notecard-sized creation:

I used the challenge from House of Cards for this month too, which is to use the colors and/or florals in a corner, and I used the flowers in a corner:

I first stamped the honeycomb image several times on Crumb Cake cardstock with Sahara Sand ink, then stamped the flower image with Memento ink and colored it with my blends.  I stamped the bee skep on the Crumb Cake and again on a scrap of Crushed Curry, colored and cut it out, then adhered it on top of the original image with dimensionals:

I added a little ribbon of Crushed Curry and some subtle sequins, then stamped the sentiment at the top:

I need a card for an upcoming birthday for I think I'll add a sentiment to the inside for that special someone!

I hope you'll show us something that you "borrowed" and created a card with...it's fun to have stamping friends who are willing to share things! If you don't have any borrowed stamps, maybe it's a borrowed idea...use your imagination and share it with us at As You See It!

Every day after school we make popcorn in my old air popper:

Sometimes we look at the popcorn to see if we can see shapes or animals in it:

I thought this one looked a wee bit like a crab:

And Cassidy thought that this looked like a hippo; or maybe there's a lion's face in there?!

Anyway, it doesn't last long enough to be critiqued too much...she gobbles it up!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SIP119 Cardmaker's Choice

Hi peeps!  Hope you're doing well today---it has been a beautiful October so far!  Justin has a fun , easy challenge for us at Stamp Ink Paper this week:

Image may contain: text

Well, maybe it's a little tougher than I thought!  There is NO WAY I could pick out a favorite stamp set, color OR paper!  I just have way too many favorites!  But I did remember a cute little stamp set that I hadn't gotten inky in a long, long time that I thought would be a good one to pull out...it is one of my many, many favorites, it's called Greeting Card Kids:

And I was able to incorporate a few more challenges with this one, too!  In(k)spire Me has a sketch; House of Cards wants CAS Halloween; and Less Is More wants watercoloring!

I stamped my cute little witch with Stazon ink on SU's watercolor paper and colored her in with an aquapainter and reinkers:

I cut the circle out with a Stitched Shape die and added a little circular element from another Halloween set, then added some spooky bats on the Crumb Cake background!  And here's the inside:

Lots of favorites...alll my Halloween sets are right up at the top of that list!  I hope you'll share your favorite stamp, ink and paper with us this week...if you can decide which to choose!  Check out the other designers' creations as well...they have some beauties!

And speaking of little beauties, here is Cassidy's school picture for second grade:

We were happy with it!  And we're happy you popped it today---be blessed!

Yippee Birthday

Hi everyone!  The week is winding down....still lots to do, but I took some time out to make a birthday card for my great-nephew, who will be turning two this weekend!  It uses the Freshly Made Sketches sketch; the House of Cards April color palette; and the Retrorubber Challenge to use baby animals!
RRCB 60

I used some Lawn Fawn plaid paper with the little puppy image from SU's Storybook Friends, which is from 2012:

I cut the DSP, as well as a Tip Top Taupe border, with a scalloped stitch border die from Pretty Pink Posh, and stamped the puppy in Chocolate Chip ink and did some watercoloring.  I took a chance that it wouldn't bleed, but unfortunately, it did a little bit; I should have used a blender pen instead:

(I doubt my nephew will care that it bled a little!)  I added a sentiment from the same set, cut it out with a stitched die and added some stitched stars embellished with some candy dots:

And Cassidy wanted to make her own card for him....she used the set I Dig You and chose her own colors and DSP:

I did do the cutting, but she laid it out and put it together!!!

Hope you have a wonderful day and be blessed!
