As You See It 371 Recipe in Pink

Hello all!  Happy Friday! It's time for a new As You See It challenge, and this week, it's Recipe time!  Here we go:

My friend Colleen recently made a gorgeous postage-style card (you can see it HERE) and she inspired me to get out my postage dies and stamps and put them to use! I only used hers as a starting point, as she did neutrals and vintage.  Mine is decidedly PINK and floral:

I already had this Pink Pirouette diecut "frame" in my Pink Pirouette folder, so I used that as my starting point. I stamped images from the retired Hand-Penned Petals on the frame as well as on one of the postage stamps, and used the dies from the same set to create some detailed flowers.  The little seed packet image is from the retired Flowering Rain Boots.  I added a sentiment from Hero Arts as well as some postage stamp elements from Waffle Flower:

My final addition was a wee little bit of grosgrain ribbon for accent.  It was fun to mix and match these images and sets, do some stamping and sponging, then put it all together! I hope you'll find something to create using our "recipe" this week at As You See It!  Can't wait to see what comes of it!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

HSS410 Hand-Penned Petals

Happy Thursday, peeps!  The weekend is almost upon us....bringing rain, rain, rain!  Well, I guess it will be a good time to stay inside and stamp!  I had Hand Penned Petals on my desk from another project and thought it would be good to use with the color challenge from Hand Stamped Sentiments this week as well as the sketch from FMS:

So here we go:

This is such a pretty image, I am not sure why I haven't used it more!  After stamping and diecutting the image, I mounted it on a Basic White panel diecut with the new Radiating Stitches die that was sponged with some Balmy Blue ink.  A wee bit of Fresh Freesia DSP formed a mat, and I did some paper piecing of various strips of Balmy Blue DSP to create the horizontal piece.

The sentiment is from Happiness Abounds.  I have another friend getting knee surgery today and I may send this to her as an encouragement card!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

The heavesn declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.  Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.  There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.  Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.  Psalm 19:1-4

FMS573 Hand Penned Thanks

Happy Thursday, peeps!  The sketch that Kim designed over at FMS is really cute this week, but they're always cute!  I used it to make a thank you card:

And since I love all the prints and plaids that SU currently has using Petal Pink, I gathered a few together, cut them out with a Stitched Rectangle die and here's what I came up with:

This is my second monochromatic card in two days...I think I need to change things up here soon, lol!  The panels were a wee bit shorter than a standard sized card, so I trimmed my card down a bit, then added some Petal Pink stitched scallops at the top and bottom, then stamped and diecut a simple floral image from Hand-Penned Petals:

I fussy-cut the sentiment, popped it up on some really skinny pieces of dimensionals, then added some iridescent sequins for fun!  Clean and simple!  Thanks for popping in today!

Dana could do some moonlighting as a hairdresser:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

JAI611 Rings of Love Thanks

Happy Friday, everyone!  Another hot, sticky day here in SE PA!  We had such a nice June, I hate to complain though! Anyway, Just Add Ink has a lovely sketch this week:

and I needed a thank you card, so I pulled out my favorite bird print from the Rings of Love DSP and made this:

I already had an unused So Saffron panel that was diecut with a Stitched Rectangle die, so I positioned it in my Big Shot with another rectangle die creating a point at the bottom and ran just the bottom portion through.  I then embossed it with the Timber EF, added an embossed sentiment from Hand-Penned Petals and fussy cut it into my sentiment banner:

I added a couple of Soft Seafoam leaf diecuts to coordinate with the DSP.  Since I already had all my supplies out, I made another one; this time I used the retired Stitched Nested Labels dies to create a frame from So Saffron cardstock, then added vellum behind it. Same sentiment for the horizontal piece but I used a banner die from Stylish Shapes:

Thanks for popping in today!  Lots of chores to do, so I'd better get busy!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC475 Hand Penned Thank You

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Hope you had a good weekend.  I believe I had a bit too much picnic food, I need to get back on my food plan this week, LOL!  I did squeak in a wee bit of stamping yesterday before our cookout and used the Atlantic Hearts Sketch:

and the Hand-Penned Petals set along with a bunch of Daffodil Delight DSPs.  Check it out:

I used a Stitched Strip die from Reverse Confetti to diecut a bunch of papers, then laid them out on a scrap of paper before adhering them down.  Once I trimmed it to size, I mounted it on a Basic White card base, then added the floral, stamped in Smoky Slate, Daffodil Delight and Soft Seafoam:

I added a little shading with some ink and a blender pen, then placed a Soft Seafoam diecut behind the flowers.  The sentiment is from Friends are Like Seashells, and the embellishments are Elegant Faceted Gems:

The background was a wee bit labor-intensive, but it didn't take as long as I thought it would, and it was a fun technique!  Thanks for popping in today!

I can't begin to tell you how proud I am of my son-in-law Wayne.  He spoke at Ganae's funeral on Friday and he did such an awesome job...he read scripture, talked briefly about Ganae and her struggles and gave an uplifting message.  He truly was a rock during an extremely difficult week even though he was grieving as much, if not more, than we were.  I was so happy to see him relaxing and playing with Cassidy on Sunday evening, they both needed it:

Please pray for them as they try to get into a new normal.  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TTTC152 Hand-Penned Vellum

Hi everyone!  Happy Thursday and welcome back to a new Tic Tac Toe challenge!  Here's the grid that our talented Betty came up with:

I had to laugh at myself because I used this same Hand-Penned Petals stamp set for my last Tic Tac Toe challenge!  What can I say, I just love this set!  It's perfect for spring!  SO....I chose the right column of vellum, sympathy and floral. I don't use vellum enough and I thought I'd see how this floral image looked stamped in Stazon black and colored on the back of the vellum.  Here we go:

I haven't done this technique for a long time, but even I was surprised and impressed at how vivid and bright the colors were!  I used Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent inks and an aquapainter to color on the back, but you could also use markers or Blends!  I did heat the vellum a bit after coloring it to "unwarp" it and it worked perfectly!

I diecut it with the coordinating dies, then mounted it on a piece of Basic White and stamped a sympathy sentiment from Special Moments and added a little color to it by stamping one of the rectangles from Watercolor Shapes on top.  It's a simple thing but it really highlights the sentiment!  I also added some speckles from Color & Contour:

Everything went on a Soft Succulent card base that was embossed with the Timeworn Type EF, and I added some DSP and a few sequins for fun.  And it's already in the mail, winging to its recipient!  I hope you'll find a column or row in our grid this week that will inspire you to create something pretty!  Be sure to share it with us at the Tic Tac Toe challenge!  Can't wait to see you there!  Thanks for visiting today!

Finally....Eden settled down....but she is as close to her buddy as she can be without being in her bed, LOL!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!  And be sure to pray for the Ukraine!

TTTC150 Someone Wonderful

Hi everyone!  Happy Thursday to you all!  It's time for Team X to share their Tic-Tac-Toe grid with you!  Here we go:

May be an image of text that says 'Tic Challenge Tac Toe No: 150 #tttc150 Pastel Colours Designer Paper Die Cut Punch Watercolour Spring Flowers Bird Bold Sentiment Ribbon Twine Stencil tictactoechallenge.'

I chose the top row of pastels, designer paper and diecuts! I knew just what DSP I wanted to use, too!  Check it out:

These Hand-Penned papers are beautiful for spring!  I saw a sweet card that I couldn't wait to re-create made by Kim S (you can see it here) and so I diecut some stitched strips using some of the pretty papers, added a sentiment from Special Moments, and a flower from Hand-Penned Petals:

This was really simple to make, and a great way to use up some scraps of DSP!  I hope you'll find something on our Tic Tac Toe grid to play with this week!  Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Stamps:  Special Moments, Hand-Penned Petals

AHSC441 Friends Like You

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  I mixed up some DSPs and pulled out Hand-Penned Petals to create a card using the sketch from Atlantic Hearts today; here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

I used papers from Hand-Penned and Harvest Meadow, along with the largest floral image from Hand-Penned Petals.  I was surprised to find that Cinnamon Cider was the color that matched these flowers the best!!!  I lined them up in my Stamparatus and after inking them up, diecut them with the Penned Flowers dies:

I stamped a sentiment from Positive Thoughts, embossed the panel with the Greenery embossing folder, and added a little portion of the fern also from the Positive Thoughts.  It all went on a scalloped mat of Cinnamon Cider! I love the fall colors of these papers!!  Thanks for popping in today!

Mommy gave Cassidy a messy bun.....doesn't she look cute?!  Love my gals!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

GDP296 Tote Inspired

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I have a fun, quick card today using the Hand-Penned Petals set, stamped very simply, but using some bold colors!  My inspiration was a tote bag my sister gave me; it looks black and white here, but it's actually navy and white with a pop of pink!

And I used the CASE the Designer inspiration from Global Design Project:

And here we go:

I diecut some stitched strips from Night of Navy and Basic White cardstock and lined them up on the edge of my card.  I diecut another narrower strip of Polished Pink and adhered that vertically:

I stamped the floral image in Night of Navy as well and added the thanks in Polished Pink.

To finish it off, I added a diecut bow from Pierced Blooms!  I really like the simplicity of this!  Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy downloaded a "teach yourself to play the piano" app yesterday:

It's only free up to a certain point....she learned from middle C to G, and how to do the fingering on her right hand.  She did pretty well, too!  She was playing the beginning part of Ode to Joy by the time she was done!  You have to pay to go any further, so I doubt Mommy will go for that, LOL! Considering we both took lessons for about the same amount of time, we should jump in and try to teach her...but you know how that goes!  But we were pretty proud of what she learned!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TTT116 Anniversary Bird

Hello again, peeps!  Time for a new Tic Tac Toe challenge....here is our grid for this week from team X!

John's piano teacher is celebrating her 20th anniversary, and if I had really put some thought into this card, I would have used some musical images in here somewhere!  But instead I used the bottom row of heart, bird and ribbon:

Can you tell I love this You're A Peach DSP?  I realize I have used it several times in my last few posts!!  The little striped piece was left over from this card, and I couldn't let it go to waste!  I stamped the bird from Free as a Bird in Stazon, watercolored it in and added it to a diecut heart.  The sentiment is from Hand Penned Petals and diecut with a Tailor Made Tag die and embellished with some Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon:

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from the retired Number of Years set and some "greenery" from the Free as a Bird set!  And it's in the mail!

We hope you'll play along with our grid this week at Tic Tac Toe!!!  Be sure to share your creation with us at our blog!  Thanks for popping in today---enjoy it and be blessed!

PP543 Happy Hello Tic Tac Toe

Hello, peeps!  It's my turn to be the hostess at the Paper Players and since it's a fifth Sunday, we have a tic-tac-toe grid for you!  There are lots of possibilities here:

I chose the bottom row across of heat embossing, DSP and white for my "happy hello" card today:

I heat embossed a floral image from Hand-Penned Petals with some gold embossing powder, then watercolored it to coordinate with the striped paper from You're A Peach:

I also heat-embossed a sentiment from Sunny Sentiments, then added a diecut border in some Gold Foil and some gold sequins from Sequins for Everything....they are cool because they don't have any holes in them!

I hope you'll find some inspiration from my tic-tac-toe board; be sure to check out what the DT created at the Paper Players blog, then play along with us!  You might be our Headliner next week!  Thanks for popping in today!
