PP674 You & Me

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Time for a new Paper Players challenge, and Jaydee has chosen an interesting slimline sketch for us today:

I admit that slimline cards intimidate me a wee bit, isn't that silly?  So I put on my big girl panties and went to work! It did help that I used the Inspired By photo as a starting point:

AND the fact that I just got these dies gifted to me...that helped too! Here we go:

I diecut some stitched squares from Smoky Slate heart-printed DSP, then added the "you & me", diecut from Polished Pink, Poppy Parade, Smoky Slate and Basic White.  I added some Tim Holtz diecut alphabet Xs and Os.

The retired Great Greetings provided the sentiments, and those cute little red hearts are from the current mini catalog:

I had just re-inked my Poppy Parade ink pad.....so my inside sentiment was a little wonky!  I'll give this to John, he won't notice, LOL!

I hope you'll play along with us this week! The design team samples will knock your socks off!  Be sure to check them out at the Paper Players blog....then show us yours too!  Thanks for popping in today!

And speaking of hugs and kisses.....I snagged these from my niece's FB page. I think Jameson will be an awesome big brother:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Paper Players 278 CAS Valentine

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Thank you to everyone who sent along anniversary well-wishes!  We had a nice day!  But on to stamping!  Sandy is our fabulous Paper Players hostess today with a fun clean and simple challenge:

Since Sandy "enabled" me to get some of these cute Simple Stories papers from the I Am... line, I decided it would be appropriate to use one of them in my card!  So here it is:

This is a case of letting the paper do most of the work!  The brickwork and most of the hearts are already on the paper....I stamped the "love & kisses" using SU's So You and Great Greetings sets; then I added a little Papertrey heart diecut from Strawberry Slush that sits right above the fold, and filled it with a little silver glimmer paper heart .  The final touch was a big baker's twine bow, and it is all mounted on a Sahara Sand card that measures almost 3x6".  Oh, and I did add some enamel dots too!!!  Fun little love note that was quick and easy!

I hope you'll play along this week and start your Valentine card stash!  Check out what the other designers did as well:

Be sure to share you creations with us at the Paper Players!

I walked into the kitchen one evening last week and found Cassidy standing on the table with Dana trimming her hair!!

And you can tell how excited Cassidy was to be subjected to this torture:

Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by!

TSOT253 and CCC6

Hi everyone!  Today I've got my weekly Christmas card and I've used this interesting sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday:

It made me think of a Hero Arts stamp I got a while back, so I stamped it in Bermuda Bay to create my scene:

The image itself was a little too narrow to fit my card (which is also a little narrower than a standard A2 card), so I stamped the image again and did some literal cutting and pasting!  It's not perfect, but it'll do!  I added a little sentiment from Great Greetings, stamped on a Simon Says Stamp diecut, and I added a silver glimmer brad to complement the silver glimmer paper mat I added!

The only other thing I added was some glittery snow!  I am also entering this in the Christmas Card Challenge 6, which is "Anything Goes"!

Amazingly, Cassidy is learning to read a few simple words in kindergarten!  She prefers being read to, though, but here, she lined up her dolls for "school" and she's reading them one of her library books!

Enjoy your day and thanks for popping by!

Paper Players 277 Color Challenge

Hey peeps!  It's Sunday, and Claire is our hostess at the Paper Players this week!  She's got a wild and wonderful color challenge for us!  Wait til you see what the Players created with these hues:

My friend Martha gave me this wonderful swing card die for Christmas....I love this fun design, and what is even better, the set includes dies for the layers as well....lots and lots of layers!  I used some of the same papers as last week's project, along with some Real Red and Silver Glimmer paper accents:

The alphabet is from Papertrey; the "hugs & kisses" is from SU's Great Greetings!  I made a little banner to tuck on the inside:

along with an assortment of hearts, and I also layered a few more elements from the die set, along with a little stamped heart in Melon Mambo!  Hmmmm, I wonder to whom I should send THIS card?!
I hope you'll play along with this fun challenge...although the colors scream Valentine's, I'm willing to bet there will be lots of other occasions you could use these for as well!  Share your creation with us!  Meanwhile, check out what the team did:

Cassidy had a birthday party recently for her dolls:

They shared a cupcake:

He looks happy enough:

But I'm not sure if this little guy is saying grace or he's just plumb tuckered out, LOL!  Enjoy your day!

MM161 and AYSI089

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  A quick little card today for the Merry Monday sparkle, shimmer & bling challenge:

as well as this fun sketch from As You See It:

AYSIChallenge089

and here's my card:

Thanks to my friend Laurie, who is the diecut QUEEN, I had to have this cute little snowman die from Impression Obsession!  I cut him out in Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper and cut off his arms, then cut him again in Chocolate Chip and glued the layers together.  I added a strip of black in the back as well as a little orange nose, then hand-cut a little hat!

Papers are from Graphic 45 Botanical Tea; don't they look like snowflakes?  I punched them out with a 1" square punch, then alternated them across my Natural White card so the lines didn't look so matchy matchy!  A sparkly sentiment from Good Greetings and some sequins, and my card is done!

Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy LOVES strawberries, and she saw an ad in the grocery store where a girl put a cherry tomato on her nose, so she took the biggest one she could find and put it on her nose!  Silly girl!

Then she ate it, and then a few more!

Enjoy your day!
