AHSC654 50th Anniversary

Happy Monday, peeps! Hope you had a nice weekend! We went to a friends' 50th anniversary party at church on Saturday evening...it's hard to believe that I've know this couple since we were in school in the 60s and 70s!!  Anyway, I made them a card using the newest Atlantic Hearts sketch!  Here's the sketch:

I admit that slimline cards like this make me a bit nervous, so I made mine a wee bit shorter; it measures 6" x 3 1/2", and it's not really a tradtional 50th anniversary card in that I didn't use a lot of gold:

I wanted a card to reflect their love of nature and plants as well as the fact that their home and farm is rustic!  I chose some woodgrain paper for my background, then diecut and colored some florals. I just couldn't find diecut leaves that I liked, so I just stamped some directly on the background paper and I liked the subtle effect of that! I added a Crumb Cake tag with some ribbon & gold trim, then added gold pearls:

A couple of oldie stamps on the inside:

We gave them a small bottle of John's homemade wine, so they can celebrate!  Thanks for visiting today!  I hope you'll play along with our Atlantic Hearts sketch this week, so put on your thinking cap and get creative!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC467 Rejoice

Happy Saturday, peeps! Hope you have something fun planned for this weekend! Cassidy will be joining our church tomorrow so that is something we'll be happy to see!  I am still working on Easter cards, a few have been sent out, but still have ideas for a few more!  This one happens to use the Atlantic Hearts sketch for this week:

I am trying to use up some of the beautiful papers that will be retiring in a couple of weeks, so this card uses some Pansy Petals gingham as well as some fussy-cut pansies as well:

I started with a Basic White card that was embossed with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder.  I know my tilted panel is a little larger than the sketch, but I wanted to use the die from Nature's Thoughts, which has a pretty embossed edge.  The pansies and some Soft Succulent DSP leaves were tucked around the edges, and my horizontal piece is a diecut from the Fabulous Florals dies.  My sentiment is from an oldie but goodie, Graceful Words, and it was diecut with the Tailor Made Tags die.  My final embellishment, since I didn't have any butterflies that worked, was some Genial Gems.  These spring pansies are just so pretty!  And they'll never fade!  Thanks so much for popping in today...enjoy it and be blessed!

CAS Easter

Happy Monday peeps!  I have an uber-CAS Easter card using a couple of challenges today!  The first is the CAS on Sunday challenge, which is to use a stencil, and the second is the TGIF color challenge:

I pulled out a little die that features a tulip and went to work:

I stenciled the little octagon with a polka dot stencil in Pool Party, and diecut the tulip in the Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green.  The sentiment is from an older SU set called Easter Blossoms, and it all went on a Basic White panel that was embossed with the Stitched With Whimsy die.  I added a little purple rhinestone for fun:

The inside of the Pool Party card was stamped with a sentiment from Graceful Words, another older SU set:

I need to make a few more of these, Easter will be coming up soon!  Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy played her first soccer game yesterday; these pictures aren't real good, as she was playing pretty far up the field!

She was playing defense, so she didn't score any goals, but her team won!  AND it felt like winter on the sidelines!  I wish spring would warm up!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

RRCB171 Fall Blessings

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  So happy you stopped by! It's time for a new Retro Rubber challenge, where we get to show some love to our older stamps!  Here is today's challenge, a color one:

I've had this Autumn Squares set from Impression Obsession for many years....not sure how old it is, but at least six or seven!  It's really difficult for me to use purples, but I thought out of all these images, I could find a way to use the four colors of the challenge!  So here we go:

This card is pretty large, I had to make it bigger to fit all the images on!  I diecut panels from Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie, Blackberry Bliss and Crushed Curry using a postage stamp die from Papertrey and some SU plaid DSP.  Then I stamped fall images in each of the same colors and layered them on, staggering the designs.  And here is my purple turkey!!

Each panel was embellished with a candy dot....I still have a few left...and I stamped the sentiment from Graceful Words (2006) on the side with Blackberry  Bliss ink and added some matching sheer ribbon on the left.  It all went on a piece of textured Very Vanilla that I had in my stash!

While purples may be a challenge for me, I hope you'll find some way to use all these pretty fall colors in your creation!  Be sure to share it with us at Retro Rubber, and don't forget to tell us how old your stamps are (approximately) and make sure they're at least a year old!  Can't wait to see what you create!

Here's some cute pix of my nephew and his family, hiking in Montana. I am amazed that the boys have shorts on and there is snow on the ground!!!  Brrr!

Thanks for popping in today, enjoy it and be blessed!

Blessings

Happy Monday, everyone!  I have a quick CAS card today because it's CLUB day and I get to see my stamping friends!  I am squeezing this in at CAS Colours and Sketches too!

We had four lovely young ladies join our church yesterday; they went through the communicant's class, which is a challenging one, and so I wanted to make a card for each of them.  I found a package of scalloped-edge notecards that I had gotten at a yard sale a while back, and they were perfect for my sweet little lamb image

I stamped this cute little lamb in Memento Black and colored her ears in Petal Pink using ink and a blender pen, and then filled in some of her curls with the challenge colors.  I blended the Bermuda Bay and So Saffron together to make the grass:

I stamped the sentiment in Bermuda Bay and added a little piece of gingham strip at the bottom to highlight the scallops.  I think it was actually Coastal Cabana, but hopefully it's close enough to the challenge colors they won't throw me out!  Thanks for popping in today!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Little Country Easter Card

Happy Monday, everyone!  I have just a quick clean-and-simple card for you today....I made a few more Easter cards over the weekend, and this one was particularly cute; it used some really "vintage" SU stamps...I think they might have been incentive stamps, but I love the stitched country feel to them, so I incorporated them into a notecard-sized card:

Each one was stamped with Stazon ink and colored with a blender pen and some ink, then diecut with a stitched die and mounted on a circular mat of Pear Pizzazz:

The print paper is a scrap I had in my stash, and the sentiment is also retired from Graceful Words!

Cassidy was away this weekend, so I'll tempt you with some pictures from our church's brunch yesterday:

This was just the dessert table....cheesecake, sticky buns, apple crisp, brownies...the list goes on!  Here's John loading up his plate with a couple of friends!

And yours truly....enjoying apple crisp with homemade whipped cream!  Yum!

Enjoy your day!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for my Stamp Ink Paper creation!

ColourQ 215

DSCF9094

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  It’s ColourQ time, and here is our inspiration for today:

What a fun piece to inspire us!  If I’d been really ambitious, I could have made some felt flowers, but lazily, I just stamped a wreath for my CAS card:

L

The wreath base is Bravo Burgundy, with Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie berries; I embellished it with some little stick-on thingies that I colored with some sharpies:

I mounted it on some Rich Razzleberry stitched mats and added an embossed sentiment.  Here’s my inside:

I just love this set!  So pretty!  Now, what will you do with these colors?  Can’t wait to see how you interpret them into your stamped creation!  Be sure to share it with us at the ColourQ blog so we can see them all!

My sweet friend Athena babysits Cassidy on Tuesdays, and she brought over her other charge, Dante, to visit one day last week.  Cassidy finally learned to ride her trike, and promptly convinced Dante that it would be really fun to push her!!!
