PP775 Theme Challenge from Christy

Hello, stamping friends! Happy March!  Christy is our Paper Players hostess this week with a theme challenge I don't think we've ever had before:

I realized I do NOT have any "mythical creature" stamps, but I did have one leprechaun stamp from an older SU set called Gift Givers (2011), so I decided to get him inky.  Later on, I thought about the fact that I have some gnome stamps, and they would probably be okay too, in case you share the same dilemma as I do!  So here we go:

I inked up this little guy and did some coloring with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol....still practicing that technique!  I diecut him with a Stylish Shapes die and added a scalloped mat of Lemon Lime Twist and mounted that all on a couple of panels diecut with the Everyday Arches dies.  I stamped a few random little clovers from Itty Bitties (2013) and that all went on a piece of green madras plaid DSP from Memory Box:

My sentiment is from a REALLY old Purple Onion set (probably 2010 or so) and the diecut shamrocks are from Impression Obsession.  On the inside, I added another strip of the same plaid paper, a sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs and a few more stamped and diecut shamrocks!

And since I am using several older sets, I am entering this in the RetroRubber challenge, where they're looking for the Luck of the Irish:

as well as the Card Concept, where they're looking for shades of green:

I would say that my card concept is "clean and layered", and I was inspired by the green plaid and the lovely colors!

I hope you'll be able to play along with us at the Players this week, it's such a fun challenge!  We can't wait to see what you come up with!  Thanks so much for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP762 Thanksgiving Blessings

Happy Sunday, peeps! I am the hostess at the Paper Players this week and we have a "thankful" theme:

I pulled out a really old set called Gift Givers, because I just love this little turkey:

I stamped the image in Pecan Pie and used some Blends to color him in, then punched him out with a matching punch.  I added frames of leaves and acorns from the retired Thankful Forest Friends and diecut a few leaves to tuck in around the sides.  It all went on some plaid paper that was gifted to me by a friend:

I added another strip of the paper on the inside, a leftover leaf, and a sentiment from Honey Bee:

I hope you can find someone to be thankful for this week and play in our challenge!  Be sure to enter it at the Paper Players blog and while you're there, check out what the DT created as well!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

RRCB202 Anything Goes Lucky Day

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I was thrilled to be asked to be a guest designer at Retro Rubber recently! It will be fun to create with my old teammates!  And anyone who knows me, knows I love my "retro" stamps!  This week the theme is Anything Goes!  Yippee!!

Since we're so close to St Patrick's Day, I thought I would pull out my trusty Gift Givers stamp set from 2011 and ink up this little leprechaun!  Here we go:

I stamped him in Memento ink and colored him in with Blends, then diecut him out, along with Garden Green and Gold Glimmer paper circular mats:

I adhered a piece of Garden Green DSP to a Basic White card front, folded back the bottom corner, then popped my little lucky guy on top.  To fill in the white space, I added a little shamrock I created with a heart die and added a gold dot!  For the inside, I added a sentiment from Suite Sentiments (2017):

Loads of fun! I hope you'll play along with the Retro Rubber challenge this week...you just need to use stamps at least a year old, and tell us their age!  See you there!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SSC294 Boo!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  Have you finished making all your Halloween cards? Do you even send out Halloween cards? I love making them, but only cute/semi-scary ones!  Creepy gory ones not allowed!  The Sunday Stamps sketch this week gave me a perfect background on which to make a fun little Halloween wreath!  Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

I used some retired papers to create the banner and the horizontal panel, then stamped my wreath from Cottage Wreaths in Pumpkin Pie and Memento Black, then diecut it out.  I added the little "boo" on a diecut tag with some black embroidery floss and a little spider as an embellishment:

While going through my stamps, I found this cute little image from the retired set, Gift Givers!  So cute!  I stamped and watercolored it, then cut it out (not sure what happened to the matching punch!!!) and adhered it to the inside:

Quick and easy and ready to mail!  I am also entering this at the Double D challenge of orange and black!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

TCC150 Happy St Patrick's Day

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  It's time for a new Card Concept challenge, where we describe our stamping style!  This is one I hope you'll find seasonal and fun:

I love the fresh colors in this inspiration photo, but the little hat is what inspired me to create my Clean and Layered card, using the Gift Givers stamp which I already had on my desk!

I stamped this little guy in Memento ink, colored him with Blends, then diecut him out and added a Gold Foil scallop layer.  The sentiment is from a really, really old set from Purple Onion, stamped in Shaded Spruce, and the layers are Bumblebee and Felicity DSP from Bo Bunny:

I also added a glimmer bow from Pretty Pines for some extra fun!  The sketch that I used is from Sketch Saturday:

I am also entering this at Always Fun Challenges; they're looking for "good luck" cards!

I hope you'll play along with our Card Concept challenge this week...even if you don't celebrate St Patrick's Day, I am sure you'll find something to inspire you!  Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy came over Sunday afternoon and decided to make a card for her friend Avery.  She wanted to try some splatter art, so we got some craft ink, a paint brush and went to work! She had an idea to create a mask with the letters of Avery's name, then splatter paint over it.  We used the Little Letters dies and some repositionable tape to create the mask, then she splattered various colors of paint on top.  She learned how to splatter the paint by watching a YouTube video:

She even added some glitter paint!  If you look closely, you can see the letters; we dried it with my heat gun and then she peeled off the letters.  More to come this week!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

RRCB153 Easter Blessings Tic Tac Toe

Hey there everyone!  It's time for a new Retro Rubber challenge, where we show some love to our older stamps!  Today we have a fun Tic-Tac-Toe grid:

I chose the right column going down: rhinestones, coloring and blue, and I used the sketch from Try Stampin on Tuesday:

And here we go:

This adorable Gift Givers stamp is from 2011, and I had never even used this one from the set--it still had the backing on it!  I stamped it in Memento ink and colored it with Blends, then fussy cut it out and popped it up on some MFT Homespun Gingham DSP:

I added a diecut bow from the Stitched Blooms dies and accented it with a blue rhinestone.  The scalloped trims were diecut with the Stitched Be Mine dies, and the lower layer is from Carta Bella's Soak up the Sun.  I used a sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings as well.  It all went on a Crumb Cake card base and on the inside, I stamped a few more Easter sentiments from Close To My Heart's Easter Animals (at least 2019)

Our grid this week offers lots of possibilities, so I hope you'll play along!  Just make sure your stamps are at least a year old and tell us how old they are!  Meanwhile, check out what the DT created over at the Retro Rubber blog!  Thanks for popping in today!

First time for Chinese food!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TSOT311 and SUO169 A Lot of Green

Happy Friday, peeps!  I rarely make St Patrick's Day cards, but when I saw the SU Only Challenge this week, which is "Celebrating Green", as well as the Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch with the option of plaid, I just had to pull out this golden oldie stamp set, Gift Givers!  So here's the sketch:

And here's my card!

I had already chosen the green plaid paper from the Warmth & Cheer pad before I even saw the plaid challenge!  I stamped my little leprechaun on some watercolor paper and colored him in with an aquapainter and inks:

And how cool is it that our stitched ovals fit the sentiments from Teeny Tiny Wishes?!  I stamped, punched and diecut this sentiment for the inside:

I also added some embossing with the Cable Knit EF, some Gumball Green stitched ribbon, and a couple of mats in Garden Green and Basic Black!  I had fun making this one!  Thanks for stopping by!

My nephew Tim stopped by earlier in the week to give us an estimate on some work he may be doing for us; while he was taking measurements, Cassidy decided to draw his picture on the driveway:

'

We liked how his hair and his beard sort of encircled his head!  But the funniest part was when Uncle Timmy actually got down on the ground to compare his likeness!  Not bad! I think his legs might be a little too scrawny, though!

Enjoy the blessings of the day!

DSCF6122-001
Hi peeps!  Squeaking in another card today so I can make the As You See It challenge deadline!   Here’s the cute sketch:
#60
Remember the cute Gift Givers set?  I pulled it out today to make a notecard for Thanksgiving; I had a leftover piece of Under The Tree specialty paper sitting on my desk from a club project, so I used it to layer on my card:

AND I got a chance to do some watercoloring, which I love but never do enough!  Here’s my “loosely watercolored” image (you know I love that term…it means fast and furious!):

I cut it out with a punch and added a sponged wooden leaf….done!  Another for my Thanksgiving stash!  Thanks for visiting!!

Paper Players 163 with Cassidy

Happy Sunday, peeps!  This post is photo-heavy, just to warn you!  Anne Marie is our hostess today at the Paper Players and she has a fun challenge for us:

Oh boy!  Or maybe I should say “Oh girl”, because naturally, I wanted to try to include Cassidy in my project!  I had seen these really cute, simple pleated pumpkins on Pinterest and I wondered if Cassidy could make one – with my assistance, of course!!!  So here is Cassidy's project:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 163 Pleated Pumpkins

I found some glittery orange and green cardstocks in my stash and we went to work.

DSCF7970

First, I copied the patterns and cut them out on scrap paper, tracing them on the back of the card stock.  I cut the pumpkin out for her, since she still can’t use scissors….although we’re working on that skill!  I scored them for her and told her how to fold them:

DSCF7973

Notice, she is using a bone folder to make the creases nice & sharp!

DSCF7975

I helped her punch the holes in the folded pumpkin:

Then we went outside to find a stick, and we threaded it through the holes:

Now back inside, we put the Autumn Accents die and some green sparkly paper in the Big Shot and she cranked it through:

And we have our leaf:

Another hole, threaded it on and we are almost done!

Later on, I had her stamp a little image from Gift Givers and she actually colored it in herself with a Pumpkin Pie marker….now she doesn’t want to color with her kid’s markers, she wants MY markers!!  Of course!

DSCF8021

Not too bad for a 3-year-old!  I made some as well, stepping them up just a wee bit, using Sweater Weather paper and adding some various tags:

These were fun, quick & easy….a perfect project for a child of any age!  I hope you can play along with our challenge this week…it doesn’t have to be a project, it can be a card as well!  Can’t wait to see what you create!  Be sure to check out the other designers and their creations as well!

Enjoy your day!
