PP784 Sketch from Stef

Happy Sunday, all!  Time for a new challenge from The Players, and Stef is our fabulous hostess this week. I love sketches--so many possibilities!  Check hers out:

Lovely!  This is the time of the year I am frantically trying to use up some of the beautiful papers that will be retiring soon! (Anyone else do that?)  I have neglected the pretty Nests of Winter as well as the Country Woods, so I decided to combine them on my card today:

I first covered my card front with some printed paper from Nests of Winter (they look like little birdie feet, don't they?) and added a strip of the Country Wood paper, along with a thin little diecut strip in a darker shade.  I liked the little pops of color from those wood panels!  I diecut these little birds with the Spotlight on Nature dies and backed it with a scalloped mat.  A wee little stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs fit on the open space perfectly.

My final addition was a little bow of some Linen thread to complement the natural feel of the card!  I have a friend in TOPS who recently broke her collarbone, so this will be going to her!

I hope you'll find some inspiration  with Stef's sketch and play along with us at the Players! We can't wait to see what you create!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny?  Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father's care.  And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."  Matthew 10:29-31

FMS732 Feel Better Dragonfly

Happy Friday, peeps! Yay, the weekend is here!  I was playing with the Scalloped Wishes set and realized I hadn't used that pretty little dragonfly die yet, so I remedied that with the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

I still had some Pool Party Shimmer cardstock on my desk from yesterday's card, so I thought it would be fun to use it for my dragonfly BUT I added a little something extra to it; I colored it with some Azure Afternoon reinker ink to give it a deeper hue!  Here we go:

After coloring it with the ink, I mounted it on several diecut circles of cardstock and added two more circles from Not 2 Shabby's Rustic Blooms paper.  I embossed the left from of the card with the Greenery embossing folder, then added some sequins and a get well sentiment:

I love blue but I haven't used any of these hues for a while!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS727 Pink Butterflies

Happy Friday, peeps! What a crazy day we had yesterday; we lost our electricity yesterday morning after several hours of flickering lights---crazy flickering, like strobe lights!  It triggered our GFI outlets, so we thought our refrigerator died, but blessedly John remembered the GFI.  Same thing happened when we went to make coffee....again, the GFI!!!  It took several hours for the electric company to come to make the repair (a transformer) but they had it fixed in minutes!  We went from 80 degree temps one day to snow and 30 degree temps the next!  Then the sun came out and melted it all!  March has been crazy!  I did finally get a few minutes to make a card for my college roommate, who fell and broke her ankle!  I already had the pieces on my desk for another project, so it came together fairly quickly.  I used the FMS sketch:

and here we go:

I embossed the Bubble Bath panel with an embossing folder called Butterfly Burst, then added a stitched frame, a stitched and embossed arch, and some pretty diecut butterflies.  The Bubble Bath shimmer cardstock is pretty in real life, but it's a challenge to see the shimmer here! Plus I wish it matched a little better. Oh well.

A sentiment from the retired Teeny Tiny Wishes was stamped in Pretty in Pink, and I stamped an encouraging get well message on the inside:

Getting ready for a card class tomorrow, so I'm outta here! Thanks for popping in; enjoy your day and be blessed!

TTTC257 Thinking of You

Happy Thursday, everyone! I was so happy to be chosen as a guest designer with my old friends at the Tic Tac Toe challenge recently!  Here's the board they've selected for this week:

I chose the right diagonal of die cut, embossing and twine for my fall card today:

I used my favorite fall embossing folder and embossed a piece of Crumb Cake with it.  The leaves are from Lawn Fawn, and I used Real Red, Terracotta Tile and a wee piece of Plaid Tidings to creat them.  A sentiment from Happiest Day on a Pretty Pink Posh diecut tag and some Copper Clay twine finished it off...and of course, a sequin!

I also added a Technique Tuesday sentiment on the inside, stamped in Copper Clay as well:

I think Felicita's board is a great one for some fall/seasonal stamping!  I hope you'll play along with us at Tic Tac Toe!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

Feel Better Soon

Happy Thursday, peeps! I have a simple card (hope it's CAS enough) for the FMS sketch as well as the colors from the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge:

I pulled out the Wanted to Say Dies and here's what I came up with:

I created my sentiment with Basic White and Misty Moonlight cardstocks, added a Blackberry Bliss and Basic White mat, and there are little flowers and leaves in the die set as well, so I cut some of them and added a bit of baker's twine and some Smoky Slate pearls:

The background DSP is from Country Lace!  It's always good to have some get well cards on hand!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

IM508 Blueberry Get Well Wishes

Happy Thursday, peeps!  The week is whizzing by, isn't it?  I have a friend who's having surgery today and I thought I'd send her a little get-well card using the sketch only from In(k)spire Me:

I thought that large horizontal panel would work well with the new Countryside Borders stamp, and I haven't delved into my new Gingham DSPs, so I put them both to work:

I stamped the images in Blueberry Bushel and diecut them with the matching dies.  I added an oldie-but-goodie sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes; it fit nicely in that little floral border!

Everything went on a Blueberry Bushel gingham background and I used the flip side for the horizontal piece! A few faceted gems were added:

and an encourage sentiment from Stamp Simply on the inside:

It's ready to go in the mail!

Cassidy is spending a few weeks this summer as a junior counselor-in-training at a local Christian retreat center near their home.  They have summer camps and daycare, and it looks pretty awesome.  You can see what they did the first half of the first week at their website HERE.  I tried to find her in amongst the kids, but I had no success...I'll have to ask her if she was able to participate in any of the events.  I do know that she is exhausted when she comes home:

It's a long day for her!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners--of whom I am the worst.  But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life.  1 Timothy 1:15-16

PP628 CAS Get Well

Happy Sunday, peeps! Claire is our hostess at the Paper Players this week, and she has a clean-and-simple "Get Well" challenge for us! I just made a get well card yesterday, so I was already primed to make another one!

The CAS on Sunday challenge wants flowers this week, and the Krafty Chicks challenge is also CAS, so I think my card is good for all three challenges:

I fussy-cut some flowers from the Regency Park DSP, mounted them on two diecut circles from the same DSP and added a scallop of Petal Pink and some adhesive sequins:

I have always loved this sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts (retired), so I stamped it in Petal Pink and dieccut it out too.  Everything went on a panel of Basic White, embossed with the Gingham EF.  I like how the embossing coordinates with the woven cane pattern on the DSP!

On the inside, I added a sentiment from Eden's Garden, along with a little sprig for decoration:

I hope you'll play along with our CAS Get Well challenge this week at the Players!  Be sure to hop over to the blog and see what the DT created!  Their inspiration may get you started to make your own!  Thanks for visiting today!

And speaking of Eden, she just wanted some attention so badly when we were at Dana's:

The only thing is, is whatever attention you give her, it's never enough!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SC945 Get Well Card

Happy Saturday, peeps!  A quick post today as we are off to a wedding today!  At least the rain stopped and the sun is shining...but it's COLD!  Anyway, I wanted to make a get well card for a long-distance friend who recently had some surgery.  I saw a card using the Splitcoaststamper sketch for this week....I have not posted on SCS for YEARS....but I thought it would be fun to do!  So here's the sketch (sorry it's blurry!):

And I just realized that my sentiment is not in the right place!  Oh well!  Anyway, here we go:

I stamped poor Mr Turtle from the retired Back on Your Feet stamp set in Stazon black ink and watercolored him with various green inks, then added the "sigh" and glitter dots.  To give some coordination to the Dandy Designs DSP, I also added a mat of Fresh Freesia:

And here's the inside; can you tell what kind of surgery she had??

Thanks for popping in today!

Jameson and Sawyer got a new dog recently; Ranger is a German Shorthair pointer, and I don't think I've ever seen a dog with this coloring:

But those boys sure love him:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI267 This is Knot Good

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  Time for a new As You See It challenge and it's a real pretty one:

The obvious choice would be to use a floral, but I wanted to think outside the box a bit, and I had not used Back on Your Feet for a long, long time, so here we go:

I began with the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches:

I stamped my giraffe in Memento black ink and colored him with Crumb Cake and Calypso Coral Blends, added a sentiment in Evening Evergreen, then diecut the image and matted it with an EE mat:

I used DSPs in Calypso Coral and Soft Succulent and just to add a wee bit more of the Crumb Cake, added an Ornate Frame diecut which was embossed and sponged with Crumb Cake ink.  The three little elements at the top were diecut with floral centers from the Pierced Blooms die; they kind of reminded me of the spots on the giraffe!!

Although these were not colors I would normally use together, I really like how this card turned out!  And since I have a friend who is recovering from you-know-what, and she LOVES giraffes, this is going out in the mail to her as we speak!  I hope you'll play along with our fun color challenge this week!  Check out what the AYSI Design Team created when you visit our blog to share yours as well!  See you there!

"Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.  For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil."  Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

CAS222 Get Well Soon

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Here's a real quick CAS get-well card for the CAS on Sunday challenge:

This is an old Lockhart stamp I've had for years; I stamped it in Memento black and colored it with some Blends; the sentiment is an even older one from Cornish Heritage Farms and it's never been used! I added Pear Pizzazz and Bermuda Bay mats, then mounted it on a Basic White card base embossed with the Stitched with Whimsy die:

Clean, simple and easy!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

GDP279 Get Well Hot Dog

Happy Monday, peeps!  A little late today....a lazy Monday, I guess!  The Global Design Project challenge this week is Animals, and I needed a get-well card for an elderly gentleman from our church, so I went to work!  Here's the challenge:

And here's my simple card:

I  positioned my stamp in my Stamparatus, stamped the pup on some Early Espresso cardstock once in Memento Black, cleaned the stamp, then stamped again in Versamark.  I then heat-embossed it with some Black embossing powder and fussy-cut it out.  I did cut a wee little piece of Poppy Parade for his collar:

and then stamped the sentiment on another scrap and punched it out with the Balloon Punch. I totally messed up the "highlight" of the balloon with my white gel pen; hopefully my friend won't notice too much!  I sponged it around the edges for some dimension, then added an embroidery floss bow and string:

The plaid paper is from a 6x6" pad called Pleasant from Authentique, and it's mounted on a Very Vanilla card. And since the challenge from Always Fun is "Anything Goes", I'm going to pop it in there as well!  Thanks for popping in today!

This little bluebird was quite friendly this morning and let me take several shots of him through my patio door:

He even stopped for a drink at the bird bath:

It's pretty unusual to have bluebirds all winter long, but we have had several pairs stay here this winter!  I love them!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

"Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.  Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies.  Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it." Psalm 34:11-14
