FMS13
I made this card for one of my customers a couple of days ago:
It was really quick & easy---I just love this particular pattern in this DP pack! Then I saw the sketch challenge 13 at Freshly Made Sketches:
and I was struck by the similarity! So I made another one:
The first one had pearls in the center of the flowers:
The second one has a strip of embossed polka dots:
Fun & easy! Thanks for looking today! If you need any details on products or techniques, just shoot me an email!
Playing with grammy’s phone is FUN!

CAS126 Funky Four
Today’s CAS challenge at SCS is a sketch, which I really liked, but for some reason, my stamping skills were really challenged this morning! I am giving up after this, cleaning up my desk and concentrating on getting ready for convention…and relaxing a bit! Stamping is supposed to fun, not stressful!
I made a thank you card for a special someone:
My stamp-a-ma-jig skills seemed to have left me today; everything is a little askew; hopefully my friend won’t mind! I sure am loving this Tasteful Trims die….I will be using it again tomorrow for my CQC creation, so be sure to stop back!
How do they know so early what to do with that phone???
Wee Details:
- Stamps: Funky Four, Trendy Trees
- Paper: Whisper White, Just Add Cake
- Ink: Poppy Parade, Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi
- Acc: Tasteful Trims Die, Marina Mist Narrow Grosgrain Ribbon

CTD145 & Mojo194
I just LOVED the colors that Carole chose for today’s Color Throwdown! What do you think?
They were perfect for the Mojo Monday sketch this week, too:
I resisted the urge to choose a plethora of patterns and went with all polka dots:
I’m highlighting a retiring set, Funky Four, as well as a retiring wheel, Cornelli Lace (insert really sad face here). I just got the Funky Four set and haven’t really had a chance to play with it too much. I like the bold graphics that this little leaf has, so I chose to stamp it in all three CTD colors!
I also used the new Triple Layer Blossom Punch to make some scallops for my panels:
I just wish I had the guts to try to sew around those little scallops---I was just too chicken!! LOL! Sewing on the strips was enough for me!
So I hope you’ll play along with the Color Throwdown girls---scoot on over to the blog to see their creations this week, or just check them out right here:

Paper Players 45
Happy Sunday! Happy May Day!! Today is my turn to host the Paper Players!
“Spring has finally arrived --the keyword being FINALLY! It took its good old sweet time here in Pennsylvania. The trees have budded, the flowers are blooming and the bees are buzzing, so I thought a nature theme to celebrate the emerging season would be appropriate! Create a card or project using birds, bees, flowers and/or trees! It can be realistic or fun & funky--your choice!” I chose to make my card fun & funky! Chevrons are very popular in the paper crafting world and this Greenhouse Gala DP had a fun chevron pattern in some pretty colors, so I chose that as my background and proceeded from there:
So you can see I’ve got a bird, tree and a flower, oh well, no bee!!! I used a variety of elements in the colors of the DP to pull it all together:
My little bird is from the Merry Details sizzlet; the tree is from Funky Four; the button is from the Brights collection, and the ribbon is Baja Breeze seam binding, gathered along a pulled thread. The alphabet background is A to Z. I also made a little tag:
I created it by using the Jewelry Tag punch and a leftover alphabet-stamped piece, then stamped it with a sentiment from Tiny Tags to hang on my button-embellished Peach Parfait twill ribbon. Cute!
Hope you can find time to play with the Paper Players this week and create something with birds, trees, flowers and/or bees!
My friend Betsy has been visiting us for a couple days:
Have a wonderful day!

ColourQ 82
Happy Tuesday! Arielle’s ColourQ colors today are sweet, sweet, sweet:
I once had a teacher in college tell me I must have a very warm personality because all of my fashion illustrations were blues & greens---to offset that warmth, I guess! It is no secret I love blues, and green is just a natural go-with color! I just received a sweet little set coming out in the Summer Mini called Touch of Kindness, and these colors just seemed to fit this image to a “T”!
I did some watercoloring with reinkers and an aquapainter on the main image; colored the highlighted letters in the sentiment with an Always Artichoke marker after inking the whole thing first in Baja Breeze, and then made my background by stamping a couple images from Funky Four in craft white ink on Kiwi Kiss and Pear Pizzazz panels. I even added a little gel pen glimmer on the water drops! Cute! And here’s the inside:
Be sure to splash on over to the CQC blog so you can see what the other designers created, as well as share you own creation! Can’t wait!
