RRCB237 You're Too Kind

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I had a little stamping time yesterday; I had been going through some older DSP tablets and came across Plaid Tidings.  It had lots of nice seasonal plaids in it, but there were a couple that had brighter colors and I just never could warm up to them.  After seeing the Retro Rubber tic-tac-toe board, I decided to challenge myself and use one of the plaids along with a stamp from last year called Fruitful Blessings (2023). Here's the board:

I originally chose the diagonal of Die-cut, Heat/Dry emboss (I have both) and Patterned Paper, but I realize I also have Rectangles, Sequins and Stencil in there as well!  So here we go:

I normally don't go for big bold colors, but I really wanted to highlight the Melon Mambo in that plaid! The floral image was stamped in Versafine Black AND Versamark inks, using my stamp positioner, then heat-embossed with clear embossing powder and watercolored.  Having the outlines embossed made the watercoloring go quickly! Normally I would use fall tones, but these reminded me of the zinnias that we saw at Longwood:

I did some very light stenciling in the background, added some embossing with Stitched Whimsy around the outside of the stenciling, then finished it off with the big, bold sentiment from Wanted to Say.  I did add a few sequins that matched the colors.  I was pretty happy with the end result!  Thanks so much for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC557 Sympathy

Happy Wednesday, peeps! Hope you had a good Christmas holiday! The days feel weird, I am all messed up, LOL! I did manage to clean a little space on my stamp table (which looks like a tornado hit it) to make, sadly, a sympathy card.  I used the Atlantic Hearts sketch:

I just got some Fitting Florets DSP from the Clearance Rack, and I paired it with the florals from Fruitful Blessings....trying to get some more use from it before it retires!  So here we go:

After diecutting my circle, I mounted it on a scallop of Smoky Slate and added a sentiment from Lasting Joy and a black gingham bow.  The DSP panel was diecut with the Basic Borders die, and to complement the black & white, I added a smaller diecut panel of Basic Black.  I admit that the little smaller circle beneath the main image threw me a bit! I ended up diecutting a vellum circle, then adding some bluish pearls round the edge, and one on the floral image as well:

I added a little panel of the same DSP on the inside and a sentiment from Courage and Faith:

It's sad any time to need sympathy card, but it's worse at the holidays.  Hope this brings some comfort.

So we got to meet our new great-nephew Coby over Christmas:

He's so tiny and sweet!  And of course, we can't forget big brother Cole:

Cassidy was in her glory...she's going to be a great babysitting some day soon!

Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP611 In Every Thing Give Thanks

Happy Monday, all!  It's Stamp Club day, and I love seeing my stamping friends! SO this is a short and sweet post! It's for the FMS sketch this week, love this one:

I saw this card by my friend Amanda and remembered the plaid DSP from the Let's Go Fishing line, and it worked nicely for the fall/Thanksgiving-themed card I had in mind.  So here we go:

I already had the leaves and acorns diecut and colored, I just added a little more Pecan Pie ink to them, and cut them apart to make them fit on my 4 1/4" square card a little better.

I embossed the Pecan Pie panel with the Hive embossing folder and created the tag with Tailor Made Tags die.  A few Wavy Trim embellishments, and it was done!

My niece, who is two weeks away from having her second baby, hosted Thanksgiving yesterday. They have a beautiful home, already decorated for Christmas!  They switched their dining room and living room furniture to accomodate the 20+ people for dinner:

Her husband is also a chef!  He prepared the turkey and everyone else pitched in sides! It was DELICIOUS!  Lots of fun!  Now we wait for baby!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Paper Players 664 Corny Thanks

Hello, and happy Sunday, everyone!  Claire is our amazing hostess this week at the Players, and she has an equally-amazing Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for us:

I chose the bottom row across of embossing, twine and a fall item, although that was not my first choice---I'll share that card later, LOL!  I did a second card, and that's what I am sharing today:

The FarmQuest Challenge blog is asking for CORN for their challenge this week, so I thought it would fun to use the corn dies from Fruitful Blessings as the fall item for my card today!  I cut both diecuts using Crushed Curry, but I sponged on some Cajun Craze ink on the bottom diecut to give it some depth.  A Naturals White husk and some Old Olive greenery

I added a twine bow, an embossed background featuring fall words, and I cut out a sentiment, also from Fruitful Blessings.  The inside uses some Fruitful Blessings images and a Thanksgiving sentiment from the retired Day of Thanks:

Claire's grid gives you lots of possibilities for some fall/thankful/Thanksgiving cards!  I hope you'll find some inspiration and play along with us!  Be sure to check out what the other designers created as well..you'll find they're not ALL fall-related!!!  Check them out at the Paper Players blog!

The kids had a busy weekend...they went to a concert on Friday night:

I love the intent look on Wayne's and Cassidy's faces:

Fruitful Blessings Sympathy

Happy Tuesday, stamping friends! Sadly, I needed a sympathy card this week and the Color Hues challenge was yellow and kraft:

I still had Fruitful Blessings on my desk from yesterday's card and I had some stamped images unused, so I put them together:

I used the sketch only from Try Stampin On Tuesday:

My image was stamped in Stazon Black and watercolored with Crumb Cake ink. I then added some retired DSP for the panels, added a diecut circle that was embossed with the Timeworn Type EF and a little linen thread bow.  The sentiment is from  Lasting Joy:

I added two sentiments from Special Moments on the inside:

Thanks for popping in today---enjoy it and be blessed!

God blesses the soil which drinks in the rain that often falls on it and which grows plants that are useful to those for whim it is cultivated.  But if it grows thorns and weeds, it is worth nothing; it is in danger of being cursed by God and will be destroyed by fire. Hebrews 6:7-8

GDP416 Fruitful Blessings

Happy Monday, peeps! Hope you had a good weekend!  I have a Thanksgiving card for you today that uses the "CAS the Designer" challenge at Global Design Project:

I should have made a Halloween card, since I am low on them, but the corn in the Fruitful Blessings cards, along with the Stitched Leaves dies, were calling to me!  Here we go:

My friend Wendy inspired me to get out these retired plaid papers for my background, and the rest is just simple diecutting.  The stamped sentiment is from Fruitful Blessings, and I added some linen thread I picked up at a yard sale.  There is also a Crushed Curry panel under the arrangement, diecut with the Radiating Stitches dies.

My sister went home this morning, but yesterday we visited another local Community Fair, this one was in Unionville.  The only photo I got was of this cowboy on stilts!!!  You can see by the sky, it was windy and chilly!  And he was moving so fast, I couldn't get a good picture of his face! But the kids loved him!  The gun he was shooting was full of bubbles!

My sister took this picture of me and John in the exhibits booth next to a big pumpkin.  They have categories of all sorts of flowers, vegetables, hay, photography, artwork and needlework and have them separated into adult and children.  We had to giggle that the sign for "Adult Vegetables" was right over John's head!

Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC546 Birthday

Hi peeps, happy Wednesday!  Halfway through the week, a busy few days coming up so I'll be quick! I have a birthday card using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge; here's the sketch:

Isn't that a great sketch?! A great way to use up some skinny scraps, which is just what I did:

I used 3/4" strips of Inked Botanicals DSP and cut the ends with some decorative scissors---remember them?!  I layered them on a Very Vanilla panel that was embossed with the Hive EF, then added some Lost Lagoon ribbon, tied with Linen thread:

and a Lost Lagoon sentiment from Throughout The Year, along with a Faceted Gem:

It's hard to see, but I also added some Silver Sequins scattered around; they blend in but the do give a bit of a sparkle!  Everything went on a Petal Pink card, and here's the inside, from Fruitful Blessings:

I love the font in this set!  So pretty!

Enjoying the Florida sun and surf!  Now it's back home to falling leaves!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

GDP413 Lovely Fall Wreath

Happy Tuesday, everyone! The fall color challenge at Global Design Project jumped out at me but I knew that I didn't want to do a Halloween card with the colors:

But they're definitely fall colors so I challenged myself to use some products that hadn't been used lately!  The Natural Prints die set has a lovely big wreath die....which I think I might have used once....so I cut it out once from Cajun Craze cardstock, and then again in Pumpkin Pie.  I snipped off a few sprigs of the Pumpkin Pie one and adhered it to the Cajun Craze one to make a two-toned wreath:

I added some florals from Love for You, along with the "love" sentiment and embellished it with a black & white gingham bow and some amber gems:

A panel embossed with the Cane Weave embossing folder went beneath it, and a sentiment from Fruitful Blessings went inside:

A fun fall creation!

And this has nothing to do with fall....but I was shopping at a local "scratch-and-dent" grocery store yesterday, perusing the frozen foods, and this one lonely little package looked up at me:

Oh. My. Gosh.  I have never seen anything like this in any grocery store anywhere!  Yikes!  It stayed right where it was, too, even at $1.29.  It just does not look very appetizing to me, I apologize if any of my readers happen to like cooked octopus legs, LOL!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Stamp Club Projects

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Yesterday was stamp club and I thought I'd share the projects that we made.  First, I want to say that the stamping community is an awesome one, where creative people share their cards freely on their blogs and social media!  That means people like MOI can CASE them (Copy And Share Everything)!  These two cards are a perfect example!  I borrowed ideas from two of my favorite stampers and made them my own!  So thanks, Amanda and Beth!  So here we go!

The first card was a CASE from Amanda Mertz.  You can see her original card here.  For our card, we used Thick Very Vanilla cardstock, embossed it with the Leaf Fall embossing folder, then layered three strips of All About Autumn DSP, cut with the Rectangle Stitched dies, then added a copper-embossed sentiment from Fruitful Blessings:

The Countryside Corners die was a perfect fit for this pretty sentiment:

And we stamped this sentiment from Lasting Joy in Copper Clay ink on the inside:

Our second project featured a Faux Side Step Card from Beth McCullough.  You can see her original card here.  We used the cute Pick of the Patch set with its matching punch, along with some Pumpkin Pie and Granny Apple Green inks and cardstock:

Here's the inside too:

The girls seemed to love them!  Again, thanks to Amanda and Beth for their creativity!  Thanks for popping in today!

Sawyer caught a fish while on vacation...look at the expression on that face!  Priceless!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
