Sympathy Cards

Hey stampers!  Our church family is mourning the loss of one of our members and she came from a large family, so I have had to make several sympathy cards.  I am sharing two of them today; one uses the sketch from Atlantic Hearts:

and some of the same papers that I used on my bunnies card from yesterday, just different prints:

I layered some of the patterns on the front, embossing one piece with the retiring Greenery embossing folder, then created a little bundle of foliage using the Forever Fern and Free as a Bird sets and various green inks:

I "tied" them together with some Fan Baker's Twine and added a few green Genial Gems, and it all went on top of a Stitched Shape circle.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

The second card uses the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches:

and some pretty new papers I just got from Prima called Farm Sweet Farm.  I paired them with a flower from the retiring All Things Fabulous:

The layered flower was stamped with Sweet Sugarplum, Cherry Cobbler and Merry Merlot inks, and the foliage was stamped with Crumb Cake and Soft Suede.  I added a sentiment from an older SU set called Small Sayings, and added a sprinkling of sequins:

I used the same sentiments for the both cards, from Papertrey.

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

CASC&S454 Hexagon Bee

Happy midweek, peeps!  My card today uses the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches, created by my friend and teammate, Joanne:

I really love the prints and warm colors of this particular piece of the Heart & Home DSP collection; in fact, both sides of this piece were used for my card.  The print flips to this cool diagonal woodgrain design!

I used my Stamparatus to get a good impression of this sweet sentiment from Free as a Bird, stamped in Memento Black, and I added a little scrap of Pale Papaya left over from panel that was diecut with a Stitched Rectangle die. The slim cut worked perfectly:

I used a retired Hexagon punch to punch out a piece of Cinnamon Cider cardstock and ran it through the Timeworn Type EF, sponged it a little bit and adhered it to a piece of Basic Gray, then trimmed it down to create a little mat,  I fussy-cut a little bee from a scrap of the same DSP, then popped it up on the hexagon:

You can't see it but the bee's wings have a brush of Wink of Stella too...so pretty in real life!  Thanks for popping in today!

I took a walk out in our woods on Sunday and as I went over the little bridge that spans the creek behind our property, I saw these icy designs along the edges:

They look eerie, yet beautiful!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP564 Cherished Friend

Hi everyone!  It's time for another Paper Players challenge and I am the hostess today!  I've got a three-paneled sketch for you--no surprise there, I love things in threes!  Here it is:

I decided to take a break from fall, Halloween and Christmas and go back to some of those pretty DSPs that I've been neglecting!  I picked out three from the You're A Peach pack and went to work:

Each panel was diecut with a Stitched Rectangle die, and I adhered them on top of a Stitched Nested Label die that I cut in half so that it would kind of stretch to the edges of my card!!  The peach was fussy cut and adhered to a Tasteful Labels circular diecut:

I stamped a sentiment from Lovely You in Calypso Coral, then mounted it on an Old Olive DSP banner, and added some sequins for fun!  This went together pretty quickly....I let the paper do most of the work!  And just for fun, I made another card...this one features the neutral papers from Harvest Meadow and a watercolored bird from Free as a Bird:

I used a diecut from Ornate Frames and some Braided Trim as well as the Tasteful Textile embossing folder.  I flipped the sketch as well so my bird wouldn't be looking off into space!

I hope you'll be able to play with us at the Players this week with my sketch, and while you're there, check out what the rest of the Design Team created!  Thanks for popping in today!

SS680 Clean and Simple Leafy Hello

Happy Monday, peeps!  My schedule is all befuddled today, but I did manage to get a wee bit of stamping in this morning!  I haven't played with the Sketch Saturday sketch for a while, and I thought it would be fun:

I wanted to do something fall-ish so I pulled out my Stitched Leaves dies and went to work:

My colors are Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry; I used a snippet of Harvest Meadow DSP and a sentiment from Free as a Bird.  After diecutting my leaf, I cut it again from a circle of Very Vanilla and embossed it with one of the small folders from Greenery, then assembled everything together with dimensionals.  I made a longer tag with the Tailor Made Tag die by only cutting part of it, then extending the tag die and cutting it again, making sure not to run the top part through the Big Shot.  I stamped it with some leaves from Sparkle of the Season and added some embroidery floss as a tie:

I added a couple of Matte Decorative Dots to finish it off!  I am also entering this in the Four Seasons challenge of "Fall"!

Now this is ready to go in the mail!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Another fire pit night, a few more roasted marshmallows!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS494 Color & Contour Thanks

Happy Wednesday, peeps....I am a tad bit late, but finally made my post!  I was playing around with the new SU pastels and an image from Color & Contour, and decided it would fit today's Freshly Made Sketches sketch:

And here we go:

I stamped my image in Memento Black, then used the pastels to lightly color in, blending them with a cotton swab.  I am a little disappointed that they don't have a RED....oh well.  I used the matching dies to cut it out, then trimmed it out a little more so that the Flirty Flamingo DSP would show through.  I used two panels, cut with a Stitched So Sweetly die, then layered them together to create a longer one.  The heat-embossed sentiment is from Free as a Bird:

The upper portion looked a little naked, so I colored a couple of acrylic dots with a Dark Basic Black Blend, then mounted everything on an embossed Basic White card.  I was a little upset too, that the Checks and Dots embossing folders are narrower than a regular card front, but I found you can emboss one portion, then re-position the embossing folder, matching up the last line of dots, and run it through again and it works perfectly!  So happy!  I love plaid and polka dots!  Thanks for visiting today!

Some more slime fun with Lucy and Emma!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TTT116 Anniversary Bird

Hello again, peeps!  Time for a new Tic Tac Toe challenge....here is our grid for this week from team X!

John's piano teacher is celebrating her 20th anniversary, and if I had really put some thought into this card, I would have used some musical images in here somewhere!  But instead I used the bottom row of heart, bird and ribbon:

Can you tell I love this You're A Peach DSP?  I realize I have used it several times in my last few posts!!  The little striped piece was left over from this card, and I couldn't let it go to waste!  I stamped the bird from Free as a Bird in Stazon, watercolored it in and added it to a diecut heart.  The sentiment is from Hand Penned Petals and diecut with a Tailor Made Tag die and embellished with some Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon:

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from the retired Number of Years set and some "greenery" from the Free as a Bird set!  And it's in the mail!

We hope you'll play along with our grid this week at Tic Tac Toe!!!  Be sure to share your creation with us at our blog!  Thanks for popping in today---enjoy it and be blessed!

Celebrating SAB

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  There are only a few more days left of Sale-a-bration!  I wanted to make a few more cards using some of the beautiful papers featured this year, so here we go:

I'm only sharing two today; the first one uses Flower & Field DSP and a couple of sentiment from Free as a Bird, and is also for the challenge from Global Design Project, which is to CASE the Designer:

I basically used her sketch, stamping the sentiments in Misty Moonlight to match those pretty flowers:

I love how the papers coordinate so well!

The second one uses the Berry Delightful DSP and Berry Blessings stamp set; it's a little busier for sure!  It also fulfills the Little Red Wagon challenge to use a tag:

I added a Pear Pizzazz frame along with some Pierced Blooms flowers in Blackberry Bliss and Rich Razzleberry, and tied it with the gorgeous Blackberry Bliss Striped Ribbon:

And since the TGIF challenge this week is to highlight SAB, I'm entering it there as well!

Thanks so much for visiting today!

IB159 Tweet Messages

Hello, sweet friends!  Hope your week is going well so far!  Our Inspired By challenge is a "tweet" one for sure!  Check this out....isn't he a cutie?

I knew just what stamp set I wanted to use, so I set to work, stamping my little bird on some watercolor paper with Stazon ink and coloring him in:

Yes, it's our little friend from Free as a Bird!  Here's a closeup:

I colored him with blue hues of Balmy Blue, Misty Moonlight and Pacific Point, then added Flirty Flamingo for his chest and flower.  The leaves were stamped with Antique Linen Tim Holtz ink, then watercolored with Granny Apple Green.  Originally I had tried to do some "no-line" watercoloring but I did not like how the final image look, so I opted for Stazon.  The final addition was some Gray Granite speckles and watercolor in the background.  I used the optional sketch as well:

I pulled out some retired papers to complement my little tweetie and added some Balmy Blue diecut borders!  Hope you'll play along with us this week!  The DT has some ADORABLE takes on the challenge photo and I know you will too!  Can't wait to see them at Inspired By!  Thanks for popping in today!

This picture just cracks me up....Cassidy looks so serene, but Eden has this look in her eyes as if to say...."what is going on here?"....too funny!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
