Paper Players 95 & TSSC220

  DSCF0689-002

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!  I hope you have a wonderful, blessed day!  It’s time for another Paper Players challenge, this one a color challenge from Ann

Aren’t these happy, fun colors?!  I started out with one idea, made the card and then changed my mind!  Here’s my final creation:

PP95-LeAnne

This is a pretty simple card using a retiring set called Flight of the Butterfly….such a sweet set!  The background is stamped with Distressed Dots and the sentiment is from Short & Sweet.

I did some embossing on a couple of layers, and I used a square punch to punch out a couple little portions from the scallop to make my corner embellishments:

The sketch is from Mary Jo at  Technostamper:

Now, here’s my original card:  a little over the top, but I did have fun using up some of my stash of brads, LOL!

DSCF0681

Just didn’t translate from my brain to paper quite the way I envisioned it!!!  Anyway, I hope you will find inspiration in these fun colors and share what you make with us over at the Paper Players blog….and be sure to leave some love for the designers, once you see their wonderful creations as well!

Here are a few pictures of Cassidy jumping in the “pubbles” in our driveway.  She was already filthy from helping my SIL with a shovel and mulch, so I figured there was no harm in her getting wet!  In the first picture, she’s looking at me as if to say, “Are you SURE it’s okay for me to do this?”!!!

Boy, was she angry when we had to go in!  Enjoy your day!

Happy Butterfly Card

DSCF6115

I wanted to share a card with you a made last week; I cased the idea from a swap card that I have had for years!  Here we go!   The front panel of the card folds up from the bottom:

DSCF6116

The second panel folds from the inside; it is a bit shorter than a standard card front:

DSCF6117

And then the inside panel holds the sentiment!

DSCF6119

I think if I do this again, I’ll have the front panel fold down from the top!  Anyway, I had fun with the colors and images!  And my friend liked it (wink wink)!   If you have any questions about any of the products, be sure to zip me an email with your email address; I can’t respond to anonymous comments!

A big dipper for a wee little girl!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new ColourQ challenge!!

Paper Players #59

DSCF6011

Happy Sunday everyone!  Time for another Paper Players challenge—this time Anne Marie is our hostess and she has chosen a color challenge:

PP59 Banner

How convenient for me that we celebrated Cassidy’s first birthday yesterday---this color challenge gave me the inspiration to alter a little acrylic picture frame I had gathering dust sitting on my supply shelf!  Here’s what it looked like:

DSCF6016

I printed out a little recent photo of Cassidy, pulled out some assorted papers and went to work:

DSCF6004-1

I ran a piece of chipboard through my Big Shot with the Scallop Square Bigz Die….I was a bit nervous, but it cut it beautifully!  I covered it with some Patterns DP in Pretty in Pink; I put a piece of Regal Rose behind the frame itself, and stamped some butterflies in Rose Red, cut them out and tucked some Paper Daisies in around them.  The theme of her party was butterflies, so I knew Dana would like these!

DSCF6012

Of course, we had to have a little bling, so I covered a chipboard “1” from the On Board Merry Medley with some Cosmo Pink glitter (still on a learning curve with chipboard!!!), added a button & bow:

I added a little “prop” on the back so that this can sit on Cassidy’s dresser!  Now I hope you will find some inspiration from these yummy, sweet confectionary colors!  Show us your creation over at the Paper Players blog and you might just be chosen as a Headliner or Cut Above!!  While you’re there, peek at the what the other designers have created!  Thanks for visiting today!

Young Vermillion

DSCF6093

I love birds, but I have no idea what a vermillion looks like; probably not this!  But I am combining a few challenges here today, so that’s why my bird looks the way he does!  Here they are:

  • The sketch challenge CFC15 and Fall to Layout 153, which is being shared by CAS-ual Fridays and Clean & Simple Stamping, shown here (I flipped the sketch as I didn’t like my bird looking off the edge of the page!):

And here is my card:

Although I used several sets, I hope it still qualifies as CAS!  The colors were a bit out of my comfort zone, but I tried to incorporate the ones in the photo!  Thanks for visiting today!

Little Cards

DSCF6289-1

A have a couple “little” cards to share today…these are note card size (3 1/2 x 5, or thereabouts).  It’s fun to make something other than a standard card—if you have smaller images, they don’t get lost on the larger canvas!  The first one is for the Card Monkey challenge 56, to make a card for kids, using this sketch:

Monkey 56-001

Oh dear, I don’t have many kid-type stamps, but I thought the little bunny from Forest Friends was pretty cute for a little one!  I strayed a tiny little bit from the sketch:

DSCF6287-2

I plopped the heart from the upper part of the sketch and stuck it down at the bottom!  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and I used a Chocolate Chip marker to only ink part of it, then punched it out with the 3-Heart Punch.   I also did some masking with the A to Z stamp on the bunny image!

For my second card, it took me longer to figure out what sentiment to use than to make the card itself!  This is for the City Crafter challenge 57, stripes & polka dots.  I know the gals over there make really fluffy, frilly cards, but this is downright CAS:

DSCF6306-1

I got this idea from Nelia and thought it was adorable!  I simplified mine quite a bit, but I still think it is as cute as a button!  The strawberry is the Scalloped Heart of Hearts diecut and the cap is the 5-Petal punch, and I trimmed one petal down to make the stem!  Sentiment is from Flight of the Butterfly!  Thanks for so much for visiting today!

CAS105 & CCMC136

DSCF6533

Two cards to share with you today, and then I hope to be able to share some photos of our WeeInker meeting from Sunday, including project and swaps!  They were awesome!

On to the first card, the CAS105 challenge from SCS, which was to use Peach Parfait, Pure Poppy, Daffodil Delight and white!  What fun springy colors.  There seemed to be lots of butterflies in the gallery so I hopped on that bandwagon too:

DSCF6532

The butterfly outlines from Flight of the Butterfly were heat embossed in White Craft ink and White EB on DPs of the challenge colors and punched out with the Butterfly punch; I also used the opposite side of the DP to punch little flowers with the Itty Bitty Punch Pack flower punch.  I added some pearls and some swirly lines with a needle and my piercing mat:

DSCF6531

I just love this card!

My next card uses the Sketch#136  from Create with Connie & Mary:

CCMC136

and some Botanical Gazette DP along with the bird from Nature Walk:

DSCF6528

I also stamped Woodgrain on the panel of Botanical Gazette, and did some masking in order to stamp the floral image behind my water-colored bird:

Thanks for visiting today—stop back again soon!  If you need any information about images, papers or ink, let me know!
