PP374 Retro Christmas Colors

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Hope you're having a great weekend!  It's the last Paper Players challenge of the year--wow, how did that happen?!  Sadly, we have to say goodbye to Deanne...her cards were always fun and funky, and brought a breath of fresh air to the Players!  We'll be taking a little break until January, but Claire is taking us out of 2017 with a bang!  Check out these colors:

If you've ever met Claire, you know that she is cheerful and bright, just like these colors, so it's no surprise she chose them!  I pulled out some oldies from my stash to go with some new colors to create a retro Christmas  card:

My trees from the retired set, Festival of Trees, were stamped in three of the challenge colors and mounted behind a diecut of Garden Green.  I added a little embossed Melon Mambo strip and star sequins that matched (mostly) each tree:

But my favorite part might be the little sprigs of holly I created with the Quilt Builder framelits and some pink sequins; I put these down in the corner for just another little kick of color:

The design team has outdone themselves with these fabulous colors....be sure to check them out:

·          Claire
·        Jaydee
·        Joanne
·        Laurie
·        Nance
·        Sandy
·        Deanne
·        Annie
·        Jan

We hope you'll play along too!  Can't wait to see what you create!

Some cuddle time!

FMS195 Enjoy

DSCF0908

Yay, it’s Saturday!  It’s been beautiful here the last couple of days!  What great weather, it doesn't feel like July at all!  I had a blast making this Freshly Made Sketches card….quick and easy, and a wonderful sketch:
Even though the sketch allows any shape, I knew right away I wanted to use these fun circle DSPs from Schoolhouse:

It also gave me a chance to use the “enjoy” from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlit that I finally broke down and got….so cute and FUN!  I diecut it three times in Pacific Point, glued them together and popped them up with skinny little pieces of dimensionals.  The dots from Festival of Trees were a fun addition, stamped in Pool Party, although when I added my sentiments from Endless Birthday Wishes, I realized there were dots in that set too that would have been good to use!  Rhinestones add a little sparkle!  Here’s the inside:

Hope your day is awesome!

We had to drain, clean and refill Cassidy’s pool, so she devised a way to ensure that the hose would not only fill the pool but allow her to play with it as well:

Yes, it’s barbecue tongs…..they very conveniently stand upright while holding the hose.  And she figured this out on her own, although I am not sure John would appreciate her “borrowing” his grill tools to help fill the pool!  She has imagination (and ingenuity), that’s for sure!

Victorian Christmas Stocking Card

DSCF6555

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Thank you so much for the sweet comments on the stocking I made for Cassidy!  I had to chuckle when I saw the “Waiting for Santa” challenge at The Shabby Tea Room:

More stockings!  I got out my stocking punch and went to work making a shabby stairstep card.  I had the base already cut for another unused project, so I just added some layers, a little stocking filled with greenery and embellished with pearls, and a sentiment tag:

The Kraft Journal’s current challenge is to use a tag on your card, so in addition to the little sentiment tag, I also made the stocking into a tag as well:

I added another layer to the back of the stocking, stamping “to” and “from” from the Festival of Trees set, and added some removable adhesive so it could be attached to the card.  Thanks for looking today!

During last week’s snow, Cassidy was really enjoying watching it cover the ground, and was quite excited to see the little sparrows taking shelter in our holly bushes!

What’s a few fingerprints on the windowpanes, right?!  They grow up so fast!

Felt Fun for NAC115

DSCF6171
Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Yay, we made it to the halfway point of the week!  I just loved the Nacho Average Challenge sketch this week, and since I haven’t played with them in a long time, I went to work!
A local gift shop owner asked me if I would put some hand-stamped Christmas cards in her shop, and of course, I said yes!  I have lots of cards already, but I thought I’d delve into some of the Christmas DSP that I don’t get a chance to use too often to make a few more!  These papers are from Authentique’s Two Christmases in One; the blue paper was stamped with an image from a retired Cornish Heritage Farm set called Winter Vintage Signage in Lost Lagoon ink (boy, I miss CHF!!); the sentiment is from Papertrey’s Daily Designs Sentiments, stamped in Cherry Cobbler.

I used a Nestie die to cut out a mitten  from the HUGE stash of felt I am hoarding, and added a little Candy Dot brad and floss bow!  A little line of embossing with SU’s retired Needlepoint EF finished it off.
While I had my felt out, I cut out a banner shape and created a tree:

The papers I used for this card are from Lily Bee’s Jingle line; I cut out a snowy stitched hill in Naturals White with a Lawn Fawn die, added a cardinal from SU’s Festival of Trees, some sequins from Sylvia’s etsy store,  and a sparkly star punched from some Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper.  Sentiment is from Verve:

Using up some of my stash makes me happy!
Cassidy is quite the hostess, serving lunch to several of her dolls; today’s menu is cookies, carrots and corn!

Merry Monday 128

DSCF5380

Happy Monday, everyone!  Katie is our Merry Monday challenge this week, and she has chosen stripes and/or polka dots to be featured on your card:

The All is Calm DSP has both stripes and polka dots, so I chose that to embellish my card created with the Circle Card Thinlet and an image from Festival of Trees:

Since the matching Washi tape featured some stripes, I added some of that, and my tree has polka dots, including the embossed panel behind it!  I used a sentiment from Good Greetings, stamped to fit in a circle punch for the front, and here’s the “inside”, stamped with Endless Wishes:

This was such a fun card to make!  I hope you’ll play along too…there are some REALLY cute cards in the designers’ gallery this week!  Have fun!

Happy Thursday, everyone!  The Try Stampin’ on Tuesday sketch this week was nice and simple:

and I wanted to use some of my new goodies from the Holiday catalog:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Festival of Trees Stampin Up Christmas

I used Soft Sky cardstock on a Whisper White base, with the new All is Calm Washi tape. This washi tape has a pretty silver sheen to it….can’t see it here, but it’s very chic!   I stamped a pretty tree from Festival of Trees in Encore Silver ink and punched it out with the new Tree punch---I love this punch!  I then punched a second tree in Brushed Silver cardstock and layered it behind; I used the hostess set Good Greetings to add my sentiment in Lost Lagoon.

A little splash in the creek behind our house:

Soon, it will be too cool to play in the water….autumn is coming!  Enjoy your day!
