Straight Up

 Hi there! I am squeaking in a Father's Day card today; it uses the inspiration photo from Inspired By as well as the sketch from Sketch Saturday:

I pulled out some old papers from Authentique along with a Unity stamp and here's what I came up with:

I stamped the image in Black Stazon and watercolored it, then added a sentiment from the same set, along with some adhesive metallic brads; the sentiment was diecut with the Stitched Shapes dies and Layering Ovals dies:

Gone Fishing provided the inside sentiment and I added a little scrap of the printed paper too!

SS362 Fishy Dad's Day

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I was making a few Father's Day cards for my card box and thought the sketch from Sunday Stamps might be a good one to use! I had an idea in mind...it didn't come out quite as I envisioned it but sometimes that happens!  So here's the sketch:

I used the retired Gone Fishing bundle, which I'll never get rid of, because it's perfect for the fishermen in your family!  So here we go:

I used a card base of Old Olive, embossing it with my new Kristina Werner's Finishing Touches dies--aren't they fun?  I used pieces of Timeless Plaid DSP and cut my little elements from Basic Beige cardstock and stamped them to match:

At the last minute, I stamped "DAD" from the retired Guy Greetings just to add a little bit more to the front:

And stamped these on the inside:

CASC&S560 Happy Father's Day

 Happy Thursday, all! I have a fun little Father's Day card today and it uses the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches:

I pulled out some old My Favorite Things dies and went to work:

My card is a 4 1/4" square Very Vanilla, and I used the dies from Trusty Tools to create the "boards" for the four squares from Pecan Pie cardstock.  Each of the tools was diecut from retired Brushed Silver cardstock, then layered with a colored cardstock handle:

The sentiment is also from Trusty Tools, and the inside sentiment is from Layers of Beauty, and I embellished it with some nuts and bolts!!!

I haven't done a masculine card for a while, so this was fun and now I have a card for a certain guy I know!  Thanks for visiting today; enjoy it and be blessed!

Happy Tuesday, peeps! This will be quick...Cassidy has a Nike basketball camp she's attending at a local college and my job is to get her there on time and pick her up!  No problem!  I wanted to share the Father's Day card I made for Wayne this year; it used the sketch from TGIF:

Wayne loves watching any Philly sports, so I made him a baseball-themed card with a retired set called Have a Ball:

I stamped the mitt, bat and ball and fussy-cut them out and mounted them on two stitched star diecuts.  The sentiment is from the retired Best Year, embellished with a Basic Border diecut:

And on the inside, some stars from the Have a Ball set and a sentiment from Unbounded Love:

Happy Friday, peeps! Yay, it's almost the weekend! I have a very quick card to post before I go off to stamp with my sweet retirement community ladies!  I recently bought this amazing Cast Away embossing folder and had been playing with it along with some Boho Blue cardstock.  After shuffling it around on my desk for weeks, I finally finished it off with some images from Sailing Home.  Here we go:

I stamped and diecut some of the images on some Basic Beige and Misty Moonlight cardstocks, using Misty Moonlight ink and some metallic brads that have been languishing in my stash:

I mounted everything on a Basic White card base and added a Father's Day sentiment from Your Biggest Fan:

One of my club projects this month uses these papers, so I created this with some of the leftover scraps!  A few layers, a few diecuts and it was done.  I did stamp a fishing lure from Gone Fishing, and the sentiment is from Trusty Tools

PP643 Hubby Father's Day Card

Happy Sunday, friends!  Another Sunday means another Paper Players challenge with the talented Ann as our hostess!  It's theme week and here's what she chose:

A timely challenge indeed! Love all those little inspirations!  However,  I took some inspiration from the inspiration photo AND the sketch at Inspired By this week:

So that's what I used for my hubby's Father's Day card:

I used a few new goodies on it, too!  I first embossed a panel of Smoky Slate with the Timber embossing folder; I found that a quick, easy way to add ink to the raised areas is to used a little ink spot, inked with Craft White ink....went on like a charm!  I diecut three panels using Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, Very Vanilla and the new Copper Clay with the Stitched Rectangle dies, then ran them through the new Twisted Rope embossing folder in keeping with the nautical theme!

I added a diecut anchor in Brushed Silver cardstock, "anchored" by some twine, and added a sentiment banner using words from Best Family Ever.  On the inside, I stamped the Father's Day sentiment in Night of Navy and then stamped the compass image on top using Versamark ink so it wouldn't detract from it too much.  I really like the effect it made!

John might be disappointed that there's no sailboat on his card, but it does  have a nautical theme!  I hope you'll find some inspiration to create your own masculine card for our challenge this week too!  Check out what the DT created at the Paper Players blog....we can't wait to see what you create as well!

I am also going to enter this over at the As You See It challenge---it's their 300th, and their theme is "Adventure"!  Life certainly can be an adventure, right?!

Happy Friday, peeps, Happy GOOD Friday! I have a fun little card using the Tuesday Morning Sketches sketch:

I wanted to make a few more cards with the Your Biggest Fan stamp set and matching dies and DSP, so here we go:

I only had a couple scraps of paper left from the Hey Sports Fan collection, so I layered them on a Very Vanilla card base, stamped the pennant in Evening Evergreen, and did some diecuts of Bumblebee to embellish it.  I did a little ticket strip on the edge, and embellished it with some resin stars, and as an afterthought, added some Fan baker's twine:

The last couple of days have been very warm and summer-like, but it IS still April.  Cassidy jumped the gun a little as she was outside playing with her friend Ben by insisting she wear her bathing suit:

Tower Father's Day Card

Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you had a good weekend!  I promised I would try to share some directions for this card, and while the photos aren't very good, I do have a bit of a tutorial for you!  Since I already had the cardstock cut, scored and assembled to make the sample, I went ahead and decorated it for Wayne's Father's Day card:

I used lots of retired SU products, did some embossing and fussy-cutting:

Some stamping and diecutting (even though he's technically not my son, he IS my #1 son-in-law!):

And had a fun time doing it!  He loves football (Eagles) and baseball (Phillies) and he is the manager of our church softball team (we are currently in first place!) so I made sure I got some of those elements in there as well!

Now for the tutorial; as I said, the photos are not very good, but hopefully you'll be able to still get the gist of it!  This creates a standard sized card, so the panels to be decorated are not real big, but I think it still makes for an impressive card!  So here we go:

1.  Cut 4 pieces of cardstock 2 5/8" x 5 1/2".  Score each one at 1/2" on the short side and fold and burnish.  You should have a 1/2" "tab" along each left side:

2.  Lay one piece on your work surface with the left tab facing up.  Apply strong adhesive or tape to the back of the tab on the second piece of cardstock.  Adhere the edge of that tab right next to the fold of the piece that is on your work surface:

3.  Do the same thing for the third piece:  apply strong adhesive to the back of the tab and adhere that right along the fold on the second piece of cardstock.  

4.  If you stand it up, it should look like this:

5.  Do the same thing with the last piece of cardstock. 

 6.  It should look like this:

7.  Flip over the entire piece and apply strong adhesive to the remaining tab, which is the tab on the very first piece you laid on your work surface.  Carefully adhere that to the remaining piece of cardstock, again, right next to the fold.  This is where it will turn into a 3D card.  It is helpful to pick it up to maneuver that last tab into place.

8.  Your final piece should look this this:

Be sure to burnish your tabs to make sure your adhesive stays tight....Tear N Tape or Sticky Strip works great!  When you flatten your card, it should measure 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  At this point, you can pop it back out and decorate in whatever way you wish.  It is helpful to create a test one first using some scrap cardstock or paper.  Once you get the basic idea down, they come together quickly!  Have fun, hope it was helpful!  And enjoy your day and be blessed!
