PP693 Color Challenge from Joanne

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Joanne is our Paper Players hostess this week with an absolutely smashing color palette:

I love blues and yellow together!  I pulled out a really old Papertrey set for my card today, because I wanted to use the sketch from Retro Rubber as well:

So here we go:

Vintage Picnic and the coordinating sentiments are from around 2013, oldies but goodies!  I stamped the basket in Night of Navy on Boho Blue cardstock and fussy-cut it out, adding some shading.  The flowers were stamped in Versafine Black and colored with Lemon Lolly and Lemon Lime Twist markers:

To kick up the Lemon Lolly color, I added a "napkin" and back panel of Lemon Lolly.  The sentiment was also stamped in Night of Navy.  I pieced together a couple of sentiments for the inside:

Everything went on top of a panel that was embossed with the  Basket Weave embossing folder.  I am also entering this at the FarmQuest Challenge, where they're looking for a picnic theme!

I think these colors are so happy and cheerful together!  I hope you think so too!  Please come play with us at the Paper Players and share your creation over at the PP blog!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Candle Christmas

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I have a card that was definitely a labor of love....but I love the end result, so it was worth it! I don't always have the time to do these types of cards, but it was a "chill" kind of day, so I went with it!  I am using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch for this week, as well as the FarmQuest Theme challenge of country light:

So here we go:

This card is pretty large, about 4" x 6 5/8", but it will fit in a business envelope or a larger one from my stash!  I diecut and stamped many elements for this card, using an older W+9 stamp called Merry and Bright.  Of course, over the years, I have lost two of the stamps....the flame and the berries, so I had to hand-create them with some markers, and I almost lost another one, but I found it stuck to the bottom of my Stamparatus!  Phew!  Anyway, I used every single of the elements, just sticking them around the candle here and there:

I debated on adding a ribbon and in the end, just opted for some simple twine.  The background DSP is SU's Tiding of Christmas and it's on top of a Real Red mat.

And speaking of lots of greenery and embellishments, Dana and some of her coworkers attended a wreath-making class at the same winery where her birthday party was held:

A girl after my own heart--she chose a buffalo plaid ribbon and vintage bells for her wreath!  Here they all are....just gorgeous!

And here they are again....can you see their faces peeking out from the openings in the wreath?  CUTE!

They even had a "door" on which to display them:

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FarmQuest Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Monday, peeps!  A busy week ahead, right?  It's hoppin' here in the Pugliese household, and we've already had our T-giving celebration!  At least on my side of the family....John's side will be having theirs on Thursday, so I am looking forward to that!

To thank my niece and her hubby for hosting our family Thanksgiving, I wanted to send them a Thanksgiving-themed thank you card, and the FarmQuest challenge this month is turkeys! SU had a nice turkey set a couple of years ago so I put it to work on my card:

I had this deckle-edged piece of patterned paper in my stash, unused from another project, so I put it to use here with Mr Turkey!  He is stamped in Copper Clay, and I layered him with another piece of burlap-print paper and a panel of Copper Clay cardstock embossed with the Quilt Top embossing folder.  The sentiment from the set was diecut and added to the front as well:

A simple Happy Thanksgiving sentiment was stamped on the inside of the Honey Nut cardstock from Papertrey.

And speaking of turkeys, my niece's husband, besides being a chef, is an avid hunter.  In their little spare office room, this is sitting on a rustic armoire:

Yep.....a REAL stuffed turkey!  Quite impressive it was, too!  Thanks for visiting today---enjoy it and be blessed!

Paper Players 664 Corny Thanks

Hello, and happy Sunday, everyone!  Claire is our amazing hostess this week at the Players, and she has an equally-amazing Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for us:

I chose the bottom row across of embossing, twine and a fall item, although that was not my first choice---I'll share that card later, LOL!  I did a second card, and that's what I am sharing today:

The FarmQuest Challenge blog is asking for CORN for their challenge this week, so I thought it would fun to use the corn dies from Fruitful Blessings as the fall item for my card today!  I cut both diecuts using Crushed Curry, but I sponged on some Cajun Craze ink on the bottom diecut to give it some depth.  A Naturals White husk and some Old Olive greenery

I added a twine bow, an embossed background featuring fall words, and I cut out a sentiment, also from Fruitful Blessings.  The inside uses some Fruitful Blessings images and a Thanksgiving sentiment from the retired Day of Thanks:

Claire's grid gives you lots of possibilities for some fall/thankful/Thanksgiving cards!  I hope you'll find some inspiration and play along with us!  Be sure to check out what the other designers created as well..you'll find they're not ALL fall-related!!!  Check them out at the Paper Players blog!

The kids had a busy weekend...they went to a concert on Friday night:

I love the intent look on Wayne's and Cassidy's faces:

Wacky Little Owl

Happy Monday, peeps! I have two cards today using the same sketch, the same cute little wacky owl, and two different themes!  I used the Sunday Stamps sketch:

and the feathers challenge at FarmQuest!  So let me give you the spooky version first:

Little owl is stamped in Versafine Black on Sahara Sand, then I added some smudges from Label Me Bold to give a spooky effect.  An old sentiment from Rubbernecker was stamped in Blackberry Bliss.

I added a glittery star:

And the papers are from Echo Park's Spooky line!  And here's the inside:

Here's the second one, a little more light-hearted!  Mr Owl is stamped in Mello Moss; sentiment is from Poppy Stamps' Whittle Sayings and the papers are from Unity:

Isn't he the cutest?!

Thanks so much for popping in today!

We had our Harvest Party on Saturday...aside from the wind and a few clouds, it was a great event! We have such a great location!

Wayne and our friend Josh were kings of the apple cider press (a video to come)!  Josh is holding all the apple leftovers...people feed them to their chickens or pigs!  And Wayne rewarded himself with a s'more!

The hayride is always a hit; this year Wayne's brother's family went along for the ride; his nephew is sitting next to Cassidy, although all you can see is her hair!

Nothing like a big farm tractor!! Our cousin William is a great driver!

And it was so popular, they had a nighttime ride too!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Best Wishes Sunflower

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I have a sweet country-style card for three challenges today!  Have you ever seen a red sunflower? Here's a photo (not my photo, just a sample!!!):

The FarmQuest challenge this month asks for sunflowers, and the Color Throwdown challenge has some lovely fall colors, so I thought I'd combine both, along with the Just Add Ink sketch for my card today. First, the challenges:

I pulled out some older stamps and went to work:

I stamped Buffalo Check in Mellow Moss, then added a Very Vanilla panel diecut with the Radiating Stitches die.  The sunflower from Painted Harvest was stamped in Cajun Craze and Crumb Cake, with Mellow Moss leaves.  I used a Stamp Simply sentiment on the front as well as the inside.  Natural Wavy Trim and some twine was used for the embellishment, which works well with the Crumb Cake card base:

I added a couple more leaves under the bow:

and the inside:

Thanks so much for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!
