An Easter Parade

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I got several beautiful Easter cards this year, another perk of belonging to a wonderful, creative stamping community! I thought I would do an "Easter parade" of them!  Here we go:

These are from Debbie and Wendy:

Carol and Donna sent these cuties:

The beautifully-stenciled card is from Kathy, and the amazing and clever cross is from Mollie:

Robyn and Shawn created these:

And finally, Sandy sent me this cute little bunny (love that vellum behind it!):

Thank you, everyone! They made our Easter so happy!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Happy Resurrection Day

Happy Resurrection Day!  He is risen---He is risen indeed!

The angel spoke to the women.  "You must not be afraid," he said.  "I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.  He is not here; he has been raised, just as he said.  Come here and see the place where he was lying.  Go quickly now, and tell his disciples, 'He has been raised from death, and now he is going to Galilee ahead of you; there you will see him!'  Remember what I have told you.

AHSC624 Funny Bunny

Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you had a fabulous weekend!  We have another fun sketch from Atlantic Hearts this week:

Look at all those fun elements!  I pulled out some gingham and my little Tim Holtz bunny, which has to make at least one appearance during the Easter season!  Here we go:

I managed to get enough gingham scraps for my vertical strips, then assembled Mr Bunny and his carrot and put him next to an embossed circle with an older Paper Pumpkin sentiment:

I added some "carrot tops" behind him and sprinkled on a few sequins from my stash. Here's the inside, using my new Simon Says Stamp set called Happy Eggs:

This bunny just makes me smile!  I hope you'll play along with our sketch too!  It's a great one to use up some of those DSP strips we have in our stash!  Share your creation with us over at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch blog!  See you there!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI345 Happy Easter

Happy Friday, peeps! I am thrilled to be asked to return to the design team of one of my favorite  challenges, As You See It!  This week we have a fun color challenge for you:

I have been wanting to try my hand at a shaped card, using the Every Day Arches dies.  I combined it with the You Are Remarkable stamp set and came up with this:

I embossed the top panel with the Starstuck embossing folder, then stamped the flower on a smaller arch and added some ribbon and sequins:

I made a little "hinge" with another piece of cardstock to attach the back layer to the front, and added a white panel with my sentiment and another flower:

I can't wait to try another one of these cards, now that I have the first on eunder my belt!  I hope you'll play along with our colors this week, and share your creation with us at As You See It!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Inspire.Create #189 Easter Wishes

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Happy April!  Glad to turn a new page on my calendar!  I have a fun Easter card today; it uses some old and new stuff!  Here we go:

The new stuff (sentiment dies) comes from Simon Says Stamp's Happy Eggs, and it was stamped in Fresh Freesia!  The old stuff is the eggs, diecut with the retired Excellent Eggs Dies, as well as the Altenew cover plate background:

I diecut the eggs from Pretty in Pink, Lemon Lolly, Soft Sea Foam and Soft Sky cardstocks, then re-assembled them and added some My Favorite Things stitched flowers---another oldie!  Everything went on a Purple Posy card base, and another oldie was stamped on the inside; it's from CTMH's Easter Animals!

I am entering this in the Inspire.Create spring/Easter challenge:

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

"This is a true saying, to be completely accepted and believed: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. I am the worst of them, but God was merciful to me in order that Christ Jesus might show his full patience in dealing with me, the worst of sinners, as an example for all those would later believe in him and receive eternal life.  To the eternal King, immortal and invisible, the only God--to him be honor and glory forever and ever! Amen." 1 Timothy 1:15-17

AHSC623 Welcome Spring

Happy Monday, fellow stampers! Time for a fun new sketch from Atlantic Hearts:

My friend Sheilah lent me (again....but my own is on its way!) her Layers of Beauty Bundle and it seemed perfect for this sketch:

I created a gate-fold card with some Petal Pink cardstock, adding Soft Sea Foam layers to the front panels as well as some Cane Weave-embossed Basic White layerss.  I stamped and stenciled the florals in Petal Pink, Pretty in Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Soft Sea Foam and Granny Apple Green inks.  This bundle just creates the most beautiful flowers! I fussy-cut the image apart and laid the pieces in the corners of the card, overlapping them on top of an oval panel, stamped with a sentiment from Close to My Heart:

Here's a view of it, slightly open:

And a view of the inside:

It's so fun to make a card with a different fold--I tend to get in a rut!  I hope you'll play along with our pretty sketch this week--it doesn't even have to be a gate-fold card! Can't wait to see what you create, and please share it with us at the Atlantic Hearts blog!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP731 Thinking of You Tic Tac Toe

Happy Sunday, peeps! It's the fifth Sunday of the month (and that means March will finally be over!) and that also means a Tic-Tac-Toe grid at the Paper Players! And I get to be the hostess!  So here's the grid:

I chose the left column of flowers, diecut and lavender, and I also have ribbon, green and sentiment!  So here we go:

I first stamped the hyacinth from W+9's Spring Blessings, and diecut it with the Every Day Arches die, adding a Garden Green arch behind it.  Everything went on a piece of Perennial Lavender DSP and a Highland Heather card base.  I did a little ruffled ribbon as well as a Papertrey sentiment.

On the inside, I added a nest and some eggs from the same set along with an Easter sentiment:

There are dies to go with this set, but I chose to fussy-cut the eggs as I didn't like the white border, LOL!  But I do love this layered stamp set!

I hope you'll find something that tickles your fancy on our tic-tac-toe grid this week, and that you'll make something fun and creative to share with us at the Paper Players blog!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI344 Hippity Hoppity

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  The As You See It sketch has THREE elements--woohoo, I love those threes!  I just had to play along!

I just got this Simon Says Stamp Easter set in the mail and couldn't wait to get it inky!  Here we go:

This was an uber-simple card to make!  I used a mat of Pretty in Pink with some Wildflower Birthday gingham paper, cut with the Perennial Postage dies, then stamped my eggs in Pretty in Pink, Balmy Blue and Soft Sea Foam.  Isn't this sentiment the cutest?

Another sentiment and wee little egg went on the inside:

So cute! I can't wait to play with this set some more!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC621 Floral Sketch

Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you had a good weekend!  The Atlantic Hearts Sketch this week is certainly a fun one, as it always is!

Since I already had a couple of Unity sets out on  my desk from yesterday's card, I decided to use the large zinnia image instead of actual circles. Here we go:

I stamped the flowers three times around the edges in Peach Pie, using an Old Olive market to color in the stem.  I added an older Easter sentiment, also stamped in Old Olive, and diecut with the Everyday Arches die, then mounted it on a Peach Pie card base:

I made another card while I was at it, using a sentiment from Charming Sentiments, diecutting it with the matching die and using an Old Olive card base.  I backed the sentiment with a matching "shadow", and I also colored in the lady bugs with a Lemon Lolly marker; just a different look:

The sentiment was placed in a different location too, and I added some speckles from Country Birdhouse for fun:

I hope you'll play along with our sketch this week!  You can see all the DT submissions on Wednesday, but feel free to play along right now!  Can't wait to see what you create!

PP728 Color Challenge from Jaydee

Happy Sunday, peeps! It's time for a new Paper Players challenge with Jaydee as our hostess! This color palette was perfect for an Easter card!

I used a bunch of pastel colors as well as a bunch of products for my card:

I had gotten the Excellent Eggs dies before they retired but had never used them, so I created a big Easter egg using a various assortment of pastel cardstocks, stamping a couple of the panels with some dots and stripes:

The bunny is from a really old SU set; I diecut some other eggs from various DSPs and the sentiment diecut was cut from Basic White. I did create a couple little eggs and gave them The background Petal Pink DSP was mounted on a Petal Pink card and the inside was stamped with a sentiment from CTMH (sorry for the poor photo):

Pastels are so pretty, especially in the spring! I hope you'll play along with us---I am thinking florals, baby, or like mine, Easter!  Can't wait to see what you create over at the Paper Players!

LRW796 Tiny Bunny

Hello, peeps! Yay, it's Friday! I have a fun little Easter card for you today. The challenge at Little Red Wagon this week is "Tiny Dancer"; they want to see something tiny on your card!  (Do you now have Elton John stuck in your head?)  So here we go:

I used an embossing folder and die from Simon Says Stamp, and diecut the wee bunny from a circle of Bubble Bath cardstock. I have struggled with this color; it's a little too purple for me to really consider it a pink, and it's tough to photograph! I am still lamenting the loss of Pink Pirouette, right, Beth?  Anyway, I went with it, stamping my circle with some little Bubble Bath polka dots and popping up the bunny with double mini dimensionals:

I struggled to get the sentiment dark enough, so I opted for Smoky Slate for both the outside and inside sentiments, and added some gray gingham to pull it all together!

Both sentiments came from the retired Little Cuties set!  Now, to make a few more Easter cards!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP724 Color Theme for Easter

Happy Sunday, all! I am the hostess at the Paper Players this week and I've chosen a bright, cheerful  palette for you that evokes the colors of spring!

I remembered that I had gotten this adorable embossing folder and die combo last year from Simon Says Stamp and never used it!  Since my colors reminded me of Easter, I put it to work:

I embossed a panel of Basic White with the bunnies, then cut and embossed one of each from the challenge colors.  I added a little strip of Summer Splash DSP along with a banner stamped with a sentiment from Delightful Dozen.  Of course, I had to add a little bling to their tails!  Each one was colored with a Blend marker:

The inside sentiment came from Close to My Heart:

I sure hope you'll play along with my color challenge this week at the Players!  Hop on over to the blog to see the amazing creations the design team whipped up! They will give you lots of inspiration for sure!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

JAI695 Chocolate Bunny

Happy Friday, peeps! I have a quick card to share today for the Just Add Ink challenge of CHOCOLATE!

What a fun challenge! It reminded me of this single bunny stamp from SU from a long time ago, so I dug it out, along with a Hero Arts stamp and this is what I came up with:

One last Easter card!  My background paper is from Fitting Florets, and the sentiment panel was stamped with Blushing Bride and Chocolate Chip.  I think it took me longer to find my Chocolate Chip reinker to ink up my old CC ink pad than it did to make the card, LOL!  I cut the frame out with a Rectangle Deckle Edge die, added some grosgrain ribbon and "chocolate" dots:

and of course, my chocolate bunny!  He was stamped on Pecan Pie cardstock with Chocolate Chip ink, then fussy cut:

A sentiment from Throughout the Year went on the inside.  I'll probably save this one for next year!!

Longwood Gardens has a blog and they often have really interesting stories to tell about the gardens! This week they had a piece about "Uncle Pierre's Iron Snakes"....apparently Mr DuPont had two iron snakes created and he would hide them around the yard and tell his nieces and nephews to go find them!  You can see a photo of them below, in front of Mr DuPont's home:

These snakes are over 100 years old and were beginning to show deterioration, so they decided to have a new pair made by a local ironworker.  It's a fascinating story and you can read the whole piece HERE. The next time I go, I will be on the lookout for them!  Meanwhile, the last time I was there, one of the gardeners walked past my brother and me with this in his hand:

Yuck! I wasn't sure whether I should be fascinated or repulsed by this creature!  The gardener said it was a snail, obviously, but it was NOT a good snail and it would damage the plants.  So off to the head gardener he went....not sure of his future but I don't think it was a good one!  Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!
