Christmas Chickadee

Happy Thursday, peeps! I am slowly working on my Christmas card stash; my card today fulfills three challenges!  The As You See It theme challenge wants birds; the CAS on Sunday challenge is a sketch, and the Retro Rubber challenge is a tic-tac-toe grid!

I am using an old Impression Obsession chickadee stamp; I know I have had this at least ten years, along with a sentiment from SU called Shine Bright (2019),  In order to fit the bird and the rest of the sketch, my card is a little larger at 5" square.  So here we go:

I stamped the chickadee on watercolor paper and inked it in with reinkers, then used aStylish Shapes circle die to cut it out, cutting out the tail before using the die:

For my tic-tac-toe, I chose the top row across of enamel dots, stripes or dots and diecuts.  I stamped a Shaded Spruce tag with SU's Distressed Dots background stamp (2011) and added some banners using some retired Christmas DSPs that featured dots and stripes.  The sentiment was stamped in Cherry Cobbler.  My enamel dots are from W+9.  I know I will need a special envelope to fit this card, but that's okay, it's fun to do something a little different!

Thanks for popping in toda! Enjoy it and be blessed!

IB122 Night Night

Happy Thursday, peeps! Hope your week is going by nicely!  After a beautiful day yesterday, we have more RAIN today---what else is new?!  Our Inspired By challenge is up today with this little cute beddy-bye ensemble:

Oh my gosh, how sweet is this?  My mind raced with several different ideas but I finally ended up with this somewhat-Valentine-ish creation:

Not sure, but those two hearts kind of look like eyes, looking at me, LOL!  Anyway, here's the optional sketch that I used as well:

So I started off created a plaid background with Blushing Bride and Riding Hood Red inks, then added a polka dot panel and some diecut hearts.  The pillow on the bed has a little bit of green in it, so I added some flowers and leaves, accented with rhinestones:

I played around with several different sentiments but finally decided on a simple hello, two layers diecut and adhered together:

I think it will make a cheerful "just because" card to send to someone!  I hope you'll play along with our Inspired By challenge this week, and be sure to stop by the blog to see what the other designers created as well!  Thanks for popping in!

The weather is finally getting a little warmer....warm enough to help Wayne with a car wash!

She can come and do mine next!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SIP88 Kiss it Goodbye

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  It's time for another Stamp Ink Paper challenge!  It's a fun one this week....anything but a card!  Can't wait to see what the other team members have created, too!

Image may contain: text
I had actually been working on this even before I saw the challenge!  I had one clear Stampin' Up! checkbook cover left from many, many years ago, and had wanted to create a new one for my checks. So here we go:

I saw this color combo at Sunday Stamps.....soooooo pretty!

I have a few scraps of DSP left from the Stella & Rose: Mabel line from My Mind's Eye....I just pulled out some pieces and went to work!  My friend Maryanne used to have checks with a set of lips on them and the saying "Kiss it Goodbye", so I thought that would be a fun sentiment to put on it.  Unfortunately, in my messy craft room, the "n" has disappeared from my Labeler Alphabet set; luckily I didn't need it for this one, but I am sure I'll want it in the future!  Maybe it will turn up...I've looked everywhere!  Grrrr!  The letters are stamped in Lost Lagoon and backed with matching cardstock.

And the lips from Sealed with Love were perfect, stamped in Tangerine Tango and mounted on a stitched circle and scalloped mat:

I also used a new-to-me stitched scalloped border from Pretty Pink Posh (LOVE it) and stamped some Distressed Dots on my Lost Lagoon mat!  Now when I have to write a check, at least I will get a little chuckle!  I hope you'll play along with us--get your creative juices flowing and show us what you've got!

Wayne tried to show Cassidy how to skip a stone!

Be blessed and enjoy your day!

ColourQ234

DSCF1640
Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Arielle has a sweet inspiration photo for us today at the ColourQ:

I wish I had hair long enough to use this comb…isn’t it pretty?  I settled for some popsicles!  Purple Onion is having a birthday challenge, and the only stamps I have from them, besides Christmas, are little seasonal ones.  So I picked out an image that I thought would look good in these colors, which sort of remind me of ice cream, and came up with this little notecard:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings ColourQ234 Purple Onion Stampin Birthday

I stamped the base of my card with the retired Distressed Dots background stamp in Smoky Slate (instead of Going Gray!) and stamped my popsicles in the same shade, coloring each one with a blender pen and ink:

I wish you could see how cute these are IRL!  The photo doesn’t do it justice!  I added “celebrate” along the bottom of my panel, some speckles with Apricot Appeal and lavished it up with some Dazzling Diamonds glitter!  I mounted it on a diecut tag from MFT, added a MFT diecut button and some scallops from the SU Scallop Border punch.  Finally, some silver ribbon to finish it off!  And the inside, just a simple birthday greeting:

Makes me long for summer…heck, I wish spring would just get here!!  But hey!  I saw  BLUEBIRD out my window yesterday, so I know it is really on its way!!!  Yahoo!!!  So what will you create with these luscious colors?  Share your creation with us at the ColourQ challenge too!

We have a serious tea party going on here!!!

Embossed Love

DSCF2549

Just felt like stamping for fun yesterday, found a few challenges and combined them for a shabby chic card:

DSCF2547

This card began when I took a few embossed pieces of our new Core-dinations paper, cut them into squares and mounted them on a scallop which was diecut from a page from an old house plant book.  I added some hearts, a piece of lace, a text pennant, and a sweet little sentiment from Pennant Parade:

The image behind the “Love” is from Collage Curios, which I just need to play with some more!!!  So many cute little images in that set!  The background was stamped with Distressed Dots, and the vertical panel is a piece of vellum embossed with the Vine Street EF from the SAB catalog.

Here are the challenges:

Stampin’ Royalty #160, polka dots; Little Red Wagon, text; and Freshly Made Sketches #70:
