SIP53 CASing Sandy!

Happy Friday, peeps!  I've got a sweet little card today for a sweet friend of mine...she IS amazing...she just sent me a whole gallon of homemade maple syrup from upstate New York!  What a friend!  And since Cassidy has had a taste of real maple syrup on her pancakes, she is now a syrup snob...she won't eat anything else and gets mad if any of us eat "her" syrup!  SO...we have lots of syrup that should last us for a while!  So my card today is for her!  I am playing with the Stamp Ink Paper challenge, which is to CASE the designer!

SIP Case Challenge 53 800

OF COURSE I had to CASE my sweet friend Sandy!  I swooned when I saw this card!  You can see  the details of it on her blog here!

I started out by diecutting some sunflowers I had but then I remembered this sweet Decorate A Daisy set that retired a couple of years ago, so I inked it up with Crushed Curry and Basic Black and added a sentiment from Watercolor Wishes:

I did save the leaves I had cut from the sunflower die (Simon Says Stamp Radiant Sunflower) because I love the stitching and the detail; they complemented my stitched panel (Lil'Inkers) so nicely!

The gingham was stamped with a retired SU wheel that I took off the wheel and mounted on some EZ mount....so much easier to use that way!  And finally, I added some pretty green sequins from my stash!

I loved Sandy's card and I hope she likes my CASE of it!

Cassidy loves my nephew's dog Remy...she was throwing him a stick in our front yard when the sun was going down...the light and glowing greenery was so pretty...it's really not captured in my photos as well as I would like!

I am not sure who was more tired...Cassidy or the dog!  They both got a good workout!

Paper Players 195

DSCF2891

Happy Mother’s Day everyone!  I hope you are having a lovely weekend so far!  Sandy is our hostess today with this captivating color challenge for us:

I love this photo but I have to admit that interpreting it into a card was a challenge for me!  I started to go for a nature theme, but I dragged out Decorate A Daisy, which to me, never had a chance to bloom properly as SU retired it after only one year!!  So I stamped it in So Saffron and Calypso Coral, then added some retired DPs and created my card:

I also used sketch #19 from a new-to-me challenge site, Match The Sketch; it’s in German, but they translate for you!  Here’s the sketch:

My final addition was a little banner with the word “friend” from Fabulous Phrases and a little ladybug from the retired Itty Bitties:

I punched it with the Banner punch that is being carried over from the SAB catalog!  Yippee!  Now check out what the other designers have created with these colors, and be sure to play along with us too!

Seize the Birthday 16

DSCF4755

I feel like this is a repeat of yesterday’s post, with blue and yellow playing starring roles!  It is a cheerful color combo, but today’s cards feature the Seize the Birthday sketch:

This happens to be MY personal favorite go-to sketch of all time!  If I am in a hurry and need a card, you can bet this is the layout I’ll use!  A couple of coordinating DPs, a focal image, maybe some ribbon, and I’m good to go!  Today I broke out my new Garden Gingham paper along with a new set called Label Love, which will be in the upcoming catalog, as well as a retiring set, Decorate a Daisy:

While I was cutting my paper, I figured I might as well make two!  Same design, a few little changes to each one.  The first one uses Label Love with the coordinating punch, and I also diecut some banners to place behind it:

I love the vintage look of this stamp, as well as the country feel to the paper!! Makes me smile!

The next one uses Decorate a Daisy along with some ruffled ribbon, a large flower punch and a bit of embossing, as well as a Daffodil Delight mat on the front:

I also added a sentiment from Fabulous Phrases, and embellished it with some pearls!  What a great sketch, I love it!  Thanks for visiting today!

SC65 & HSS157 Celebrate!

DSCF4293-001
Yay---it’s Friday and it’s supposed to be a beautiful day today!  Here’s a bright cheerful card that I made for a couple of new recruits in my downline:
DSCF4294
It uses the sketch from Stampin’ Celebration and the color challenge from Hand Stamped Sentiments:

I guess there aren’t many green daisies out in the real world, but in the stamping world, I can make my flowers any color I want!!!  Decorate A Daisy got star billing here, along with Fabulous Phrases;  I used some canvas for a banner, heat embossed my sentiment and glittered up my flower’s center:

And here’s the inside:

Part of the reason that one of my downline had a recruit was that at the Baltimore Regionals, they issued a challenge for any of the guests (and their demos),  if they signed up right then and there!  So one of the Wee Inkers had a guest and she signed up!  Congrats to both Lynda AND Donna!  Of course, SU has extended that promotion, and if you sign up between now and May 30, you get an extra $30 to spend in your kit…that means you get $155 worth of product for $99! (Hostesses that have a $350 party get an extra $30 to spend too!)  If you’re interested, give me a shout---my email is at the top right corner of my blog!

Speaking of Regionals…..I totally forgot to photograph my swaps, but I did take pictures of the little gifts I gave my downline:

This little hat was a total CASE from the fabulously creative Vicky Hayes; her sample is here.  I changed mine up a wee bit, adding some embossing and shading.  I also CASEd a little bottle cap project from Inking Idaho; the original was a scissors charm, but I didn’t have the wherewithal to run out and buy those little ball chains, so I just made mine into a magnet!

I used images from Collage Curios and Tiny Tags, added Crystal Effects and a wee bit of glitter.  The hole was punched beforehand with my Crop-a-Dile and I added some Summer Starfruit ribbon.
Wednesday afternoon was just glorious!  Cassidy spent some time trying to catch some bubbles:

SB9 and DD43

DSCF3216
Happy Wednesday!  After the downpours we had yesterday, hopefully today will be nice and sunny!  Just in time for a sunny card using the Seize the Birthday sketch 9, (oops, missed that deadline!) and the Dynamic Duos color challenge 43:

And here’s my card:

DSCF3213

Decorate a Daisy was a bit neglected, so I dusted it off and inked it up in the challenge colors!  I added some embossing, twine and a few well-placed pearls and it was done!  Of course, since it IS a birthday challenge, here’s the inside:

January Club Projects

DSCF2592

Happy Friday, peeps!  We are waiting for some snow to arrive….it’s certainly been cold enough, maybe TOO cold?  Anyway, I thought I would show you the club projects my hostesses made this month featuring some spring mini products:

DSCF2591

This is actually a very simple card; we ran the Core’dinations Primrose Petals card through the Honeycomb EF and sanded it for a vintage look.  I used a sanding block from my husband’s shop, and a lint roller to clean up the little “shavings”!!  Worked like a charm!  The Collage Curios stamp set gave us a chance to practice with the Stamp-a-Ma-Jig as well as use those cute little Soda Pop Tops!  A doily cut in half adorns the top!

DSCF2592-001

Our second project uses Oh, Whale! with the coordinating clear Sizzlets die as well as the Cloudy Day EF and Sunshine & Sprinkles DP:

DSCF2593

And did you know that you can cut three layers of DP in one pass of the Big Shot?  We cut little squares of the polka-dotted Patterns paper, stacked them one on top of each other and cut out the little fishies!  Cute!

And finally, here is the gift I gave my hostesses:  a tin filled with little goodies, covered in Sunshine & Sprinkles DP and adorned with the flower from Decorate a Daisy, a leaf cut with the Autumn Accents Bigz Die (still available!!!) and a little pop top adorned with a lady bug from Itty Bitties:

These bright cheery colors remind me that despite our dreary skies, spring will be coming!  If you have any questions about anything shown here, just shoot me an email!
