DS156 & TKJ177

DSCF3846

Happy Thursday, peeps….we’re on the downhill slide of the week!  I wanted to play with the pretty colors at The Kraft Journal this week:

as well as Jen’s Deconstructed Sketch:

Deconstructed Sketch 156

But I am so bummed because my white circle looks just like that…a white circle.  In reality, it has a white embossed floral image on it that is very pretty!  But it’s impossible to see here, so you’ll just have to imagine it!  I needed a baby shower card, so this is it!

It’s always fun to mix and match sets; this uses the little lines of hearts from Chalk Lines for the So Saffron panel; the sweetie pie in Strawberry Slush is from Num Num; the moon, stars and heart are from Pictogram Punches; and the sentiment is from Something to Say:

And here is a closer view of the embossed floral image from Hello Darling; you might be able to see it:

and finally, on the inside, a little pocket for a gift card:

Thanks for popping by today!

Last night we took a little ferris wheel ride at our local carnival…..it was a beautiful evening and Cassidy had so much fun!

Paper Players 175

DSCF9598

Happy Sunday!  Another Paper Players challenge is upon us, this time the lovely Anne Marie is our hostess with a sweet color challenge:

I wondered how I could incorporate these colors into a Christmas card, as I need a couple more, but I am thinking that John would be the only true recipient of this card, LOL:

My friend Martha gave me this sweet little stamp – isn’t it cute?  I watercolored him in and paper-pieced his scarf.  I found some great Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses DP and used the Deconstructed Sketch #129 for my layout:

Deconstructed Sketch No. 129

So what can you do with these colors?  I hope you’ll play along with us at the Paper Players this week and share it with us!  And check out what the other Players have created:

We were making cookies last week, and I tried to show Cassidy how to use my sifter:

DSCF9533

She couldn’t quite master holding it AND cranking it, but she loved playing in the flour that was left (note the flour on her nose!):

DSCF9541

She was making “waves” with it!

DSCF9543

It ended up being a wee bit messy:

DSCF9544

So I transferred it all to a cookie sheet.  She had a blast!  We did have to have a bit of a clean-up afterwards, LOL!

Paper Players 174

DSCF9383

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Can you believe it is December already?!!   I am the hostess at The Paper Players today, and here’s my challenge for you:

What does the word evergreen bring to mind?  Fir trees, pine boughs, a nice green color?  I have to laugh, because my card is definitely NOT a traditional evergreen color, although there are lots of evergreen-y images on it:

When I saw the Color Throwdown challenge this week, the colors intrigued me, and made me think outside the traditional evergreen color box:

I also used the Deconstructed Sketch for this week:

I used a lot of images from a retired Cornish Heritage Farms set called Evergreen Holiday, stamping them randomly on my Gumball Green card base:

DSCF9384

Then I stamped the trees on a white circle and embossed them:

DSCF9385

I added a piece of burlap ribbon and my “25” (which reminds me of a Bingo piece!) and my banner; the side panel is Brushed Silver embellished with a piece of the pretty silver ribbon SU has in the Holiday mini, and I finished it all with some “snow” stamped in Encore Silver using the Gorgeous Grunge set.  Here’s the inside:

DSCF9386

Even though this is a bit bright, I like the non-traditional color!  I hope you’ll play along at The Paper Players and share your evergreen creation with us as well!

We had Thanksgiving at John’s sister’s, and she had not seen Cassidy since she was a baby!   Cassidy asked her if she could help her do anything (can you believe that?) and Mimi had her fill the nut bowl:

She didn’t eat much turkey, but she kept us all entertained!  Have a blessed day!

DS111

DSCF6857

Hey peeps!  It’s Wednesday!  YAY, half-way through the week.  It’s been a struggle this week for me to keep up with everything I have been juggling.  I think I have summer-itis!!  If I don’t post for a day or so, don’t think I am AWOL…..maybe I’ll just take a wee break!  But I do have a card for you today, it uses the Deconstructed Sketch sketch #111, which I love:

and I used it to make a baby card for new parents at my church:

I used a retired set, Nursery Necessities, for the elephant, and Itty Bitty Banners for the sentiment.  It’s pretty simple, really, just some layers and embossing and ribbon!  I know that this is a popular color combo currently and I like it too!

We had some trees cut down to make room for our new garage, and Cassidy wanted to shovel the sawdust!

She had sawdust EVERYWHERE!  Thanks for visiting today!

DS105

DSCF5812

Happy, happy Saturday, peeps!  A quick post for today—we are going to a 30th anniversary party for friends, and it is a very special party, as our friend Randy suffered a sudden stroke in December, at age 59….scary stuff.  He is on the mend, but still dealing with speech and cognitive issues.  He was a very active guy, so this has been a challenging year for their family!

I used the Deconstructed Sketch for my card:

Deconstructed Sketch 105

and it had a lot of fun elements to it, so I picked a “theme” – polka dots –  and found some more fun MME papers:

DSCF5811

I used a bunch of different stamps (email me if you have ????) and had fun putting everything together!  I did a little double tag at the top:

DSCF5813

and got to use one of my favorite Bible verses for the inside:

DSCF5814

I believe that Randy has gotten as far as he has in his recovery because of the prayers of friends, coworkers and family…..he has been surrounded by love!

And here’s my little love:

DS102 & IB76

DSCF5156

Happy Friday!!  I am looking forward to a great weekend—how about you?  Have some fun plans?  Here’s a cute inspiration photo from Inspired By that will put you in the traveling mood, along with a fun sketch from the Deconstructed Sketch :

Deconstructed Sketch 102

And here’s my take on both:

DSCF5155

I never have enough masculine cards, so I used an image from MDS for the vintage car, and the moustache is from A Fitting Occasion, mounted on a small bottle cap that was flattened in the Bit Shot!  I used MDS again for the sentiment on the inside:

DSCF5158

Now I’ve got a great masculine card for my stash!

Blowing bubbles!  Sorry, she didn’t arrive with that clashing jacket on…just the only one we had in the house!!!

Gratitude X Two

DSCF4608

Wow, what a couple of beautiful spring days we have had here in SE PA!!  Absolutely gorgeous!  I am filled with gratitude for them…..and my customers!  Here are a couple of “gratitude” cards I made for them!  The first one uses the colors from Create with Connie & Mary:

2013 Thursday Challenges-013

and the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch, which I turned on its side:

and here’s my card:

DSCF4607

I wanted to use some retiring sets, in this case, Nature Walk, along with the This & That Epic Day DP, which has the perfect colors for the challenge!  It also uses a retiring die, Two Tags…..SO SAD that is retiring!  I love that die!

DSCF4606

The second one uses a sketch from  the Deconstructed Sketch:

Deconstructed Sketch 100

as well as the Inspired By photo inspiration:

Another one of the papers from the Epic Day line had these same colors!  I added a a rose from Papaya Collage and some buttons:

DSCF4601

I even overstamped the rose in Very Vanilla ink with the Linen background stamp to give it a more subtle look:

DSCF4604

The banner was stamped on the same DP in Wild Wasabi….I am really liking that look!

So there you go….two fairly simple cards, ready to be sent out to my customers!   And here are a couple of pix of Cassidy….she had on NEON pink sneakers yesterday….the photos just don’t do them justice!  She was pumped!
