Springtime Hugs

Happy Tuesday, all.  I needed a card for a friend of ours who is going through her second cancer diagnosis. She is taking it like a champ but of course, always needs encouragement.  I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday as well as the colors from Sunday Stamps:

I used the retired Dainty Delight bundle along with some old and new papers for her card:

The background paper is from Storybook Moments, along with some retired Crushed Curry DSP.  I stamped the images in Pecan Pie and colored them in with a Blender Pen.  They went against a panel cut with the new Everyday Arches dies in Basic White and Crumb Cake.  I did emboss the white panel with the Eyelet EF but I am wishing I had left it plain!  I also added a little gingham ribbon.  The butterflies and sentiment are from a scrapbook.com set:

A CTMH sentiment went on the inside, stamped in Lost Lagoon:

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP657 Color Challenge from Jaydee

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Hope your weekend is going well so far! We're to have a picnic today at church--we'll see how the weather cooperates!  Meanwhile, Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess today and her color challenge really did challenge me!  Yikes---check it out!

Oh my...the dreaded Wild Wheat AND Pebbled Path, LOL!  Well, I gave it a go, that's what challenges are for, right?  And I will admit that I was happy with the outcome!  Here we go:

It helped that I had a fun sketch to work with; this one is from Hand Stamped Sentiments:

along with the Dainty Designs stamps and dies.  I stamped the images in Saddle Brown Stazon ink, then colored them with reinkers and an aquapainter.  I adhered them to a Pebbled Path frame diecut with the Countryside Corners dies:

I added Stitched Rectangle panels, embossed with the Timber embossing folder and an embossed sentiment from Inked & Tiled, stamped on Pretty Peacock:

I added a few diecut flowers leaves, and everything went on an embossed panel of Timeworn Type.  These colors are pretty nice for fall, and they work wonderfully together in lighter shades and small doses, LOL!  Since The Flower Challenge is looking for die cuts this week, I am also going to enter it there!

I hope you'll play along with Jaydee's color challenge...don't be intimidated by it like I was, they're really lovely fall colors and I know you'll be able to use them to their best advantage.  Hop on over to the Paper Players blog to see what the other designers did to get some more inspiration!

My two great-nephews are following in their dad's footsteps, learning a lot of outdoor skills; here, they're learning archery while dad watches:

We've got a righty and a lefty!

We recently found out that a little sister will be added to the family...she'll probably learn all this good stuff too!  Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

CAS260 Love You Always

Happy Monday, everyone!  I have Cassidy this week and it's basketball camp week! She really loves her basketball so hopefully she'll learn some new skills and hone up the ones she's working on!  I have a quick clean-and-simple card today for the CAS On Sunday challenge, which is "love"!  It's hard not to think of pink, red and Valentines when making a "love" card, so I tried to think outside the box a bit and just used a simple sentiment and floral image, along with a couple of embellishments:

I managed to use up a few scraps on this card!  The piece of watercolor paper was one I didn't use from another project...I just turned it over and used the other side, LOL!  I love the font on this sentiment; it's from the new Stamped With Love set, and since I already had Dainty Delight on my desk, I chose the small Queen Anne's lace image, stamping it in Soft Seafoam ink.  I used a retired piece of baker's twine to give a little accent and colored some retired Candy Dots with a Black Blend for the corner:

Simple and easy!

Dana took a stained glass class yesterday at a local winery and she shared with me what she made:

The dragonfly started with pieces of stained and clear glass and a silver fork with the top cut off!  Dana placed dried flowers on one piece of glass, then covered it with another one, making a "sandwich" to create the top wings.

Then she learned how to solder the foil and flux together with the soldering iron; she said it was a little tricky but I think she did pretty well for the first time!

Thanks so much for visiting today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
