DSCF5404

Just sort of experimenting with some new things today---this new color, Crisp Cantaloupe, is right up my peachy-shade-lovin’ alley!!  Especially with Calypso Coral!  I am still fooling around with Mosaic Madness, too:

DSCF5404-001

I embossed the sentiment on a piece of vellum, but it didn’t stand out quite well enough, so I added a second piece behind it…..then I stamped on the back of it, too!  Just a little line design from the same set!  Gave it a little bit of color and hid the dimensionals!

This sketch is from the Monday Lunchtime Sketch:

I already know who this is going to, too!!

I may be MIA for a couple of days….my college roommates are coming for a visit…all three of them!  So I will be busy yakking with them over the weekend!  It will be 40 years since we have all three been together at one time!!!  I can’t wait!  But I’ll be back on Sunday with my Paper Players card for sure!

Oh….did you know that  a piece of cheese, still in the wrapper, will stick to the kitchen door?  It does!

FF15, STR160 & MIM

DSCF3750

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I swooned when I saw the challenge at the Shabby Tea Room this week:

Gorgeous!  I do love my blues!  I needed a couple of cards, so I used the Fab Friday sketch to make two similar cards:

SU’s April 25th Anniversary stamp set features butterflies, including the beautiful one from Strength & Hope.  I saved that set because I loved it and was so happy I did:

DSCF3749

I used Midnight Muse as my base, randomly stamping the butterfly and  images from Creative Elements on the card front.  The Crumb Cake piece was stamped with Distressed Dots in craft white and the swirl in Crumb Cake.  I cut the butterfly out by hand and adhered it to the front.  The embossed and diecut scallops at the bottom are embellished with MM stitched ribbon.  Here’s the inside:

DSCF3753

The second card is basically the same, I just used a different sentiment from Curly Cute and left off the second banner:

This is also for the Make it Monday challenge from The Kraft Journal, which is “Anything Goes”!  Thanks for visiting today!

ColourQ164 Times Two

DSCF0962

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  My heart sunk when I saw Arielle’s ColourQ challenge today:

cqc164

How in the world was I going to incorporate these colors into a card?!!!  Yikes!  Concord Crush and I avoid each other like the plague!  But in the end, I made TWO cards with these colors!  Here’s the first:

LeAnne_CQC164

This is a long-tall-drink-of water card at 8” high, but it will fit into a business-sized envelope!  I know this card will be perfect for any masculine birthday with the bold negative-cut graphic look these letters impart….I added a sentiment from Curly Cute in Bermuda Breeze along with some twine (even guys like bows on their presents, don’t they?) and it was done.  And of course, I still had the positive diecuts sitting on my desk, so I made another card:

DSCF0961

Same sentiment, same idea, but after I saw this card while blurfing, I decided to make some banners with my Pennant Parade set and my pennant punch!  In the end, these cards made me smile and I have two more birthday cards to add to my stash!  Oooh, I cannot wait to see what you make with these colors!!  Share your creation with us at the ColourQ blog and check out what the others made as well!

We came across another woolly caterpillar last week while playing outside:

And she finally got up enough nerve to touch it!

Enjoy your day!  Tomorrow I’ll be back with some pictures from the weekend’s holiday swap stamping event!  As always, if you have any questions, just shoot me an email!

Freshly Made Sketches 56

DSCF8606-001

Hi all!  Well, we made it to Wednesday, and that means another Freshly Made Sketches sketch!  Here’s your sketch for today:

Fun!  I flipped it on its side and used a new Snow Festival Designer Tag from the Holiday Mini…..stamped my greeting right on it, then adhered it to a piece of paper from the Festival of Prints paper pack,, an embossed piece of Certainly Celery and added a Gumball Green ribbon:

FMS56 - LeAnne

Then I added a couple of glimmer paper embellishments:

FMS56 - LeAnne-001

These were punched with the punches from the Merry Minis Punch Pack; the star is Red Glimmer Paper; the tree is Silver Glimmer Paper that I colored with a marker….if you do it very lightly, just dab it on, you won’t tear up your marker!!!  This was SUCH an easy card to do!  I hope you’ll play along with us at the Freshly Made Sketches blog too!  It has been so fun seeing the many, many submissions all your creative stampers have been making this month!

This photo was taken a couple of weeks ago…before the weather turned cold…I love how she is looking at her little feet prints!

Enjoy your day!

Paper Players 106 with FMS45

 DSCF5711-001
Happy Sunday, peeps!  I hope you are ready to have fun with our latest Paper Players challenge:  Tac Tac Toe!  Choose any three of these techniques going across, up & down or diagonally, to make your creation!
For my card today, I chose to go straight across the middle with blue, dry embossing and masculine!  I also used the current sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:
I have to admit that I was inspired by Carol’s card that I chose as my Top Pick yesterday.  You can see it here.  However, I wish I had used Midnight Muse just as she did, because this Pacific Point is just a tad too bright for me.  However, my mojo has sailed off to sea along with this ship, due to a nasty chest cold that is plaguing my entire family, so I just didn’t have the oomph to do it over!
PP106-LeAnne
I really wanted to shabby everything up since this is sort of a vintage-style image from The Open Sea, but I resisted so it would qualify for the FMS; the only thing I succumbed to was to add the water spot image from French Foliage to the anchors on the background!!  I stamped the ship’s log image on the new wide cotton ribbon that will be available August 1 and added a neutral button with some twine.  The Woodgrain embossing folder is also new and available on August 1!  I heat embossed the ship, which you might be able to see here, but probably not; you’ll just have to take my word for it!
DSCF5712
All in all, the man in my life to whom this will go will not be concerned that I used Pacific Point instead of another blue, so I won’t be either!  I hope you can play with this fun challenge as well and show us your stuff over at the Paper Players blog!
How fun it is to sit in the rocks and throw them in Grampy’s watering cans!

Paper Players #92 – Nance’s Sketch

DSCF0331-001

Happy Sunday, everyone!  The Paper Players challenge is brought to you today by the lovely Nance, and she has a fabulous sketch that I just love!  Here it is:

I got some pretty new papers from My Mind’s Eye and I couldn’t wait to use them on my card today:

PP92-LeAnne

Another card where the paper does most of the work!  I did add some stitching to the scallops and the main panel, and diecut a pretty butterfly with the SU Butterflies die.  Some pearls, a little button & twine, and a sweet sentiment from Curly Cute and my card was done!  This also qualifies for the Our Creative Corner Challenge this week, which is butterflies!

I can see so many possibilities with this sketch, I am sure you’ll be seeing more of it from me!  Now, let’s see what you can do with it!  Be sure to link your creation at the Paper Players blog and check out what the other designers have come up with while you’re there!  I can’t wait to see what you make!

How about some sidewalk art?

ColourQ132

DSCF0237

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Another striking color combo from Arielle with a retro feel to it for today’s ColourQ challenge:

cqc132

I snagged the Fall to Layout #185 from Clean & Simple this week:

and got to stampin’!  Here you go:

CQC132-LeAnne

I just love how this turned out…..a PTI floral image colored with Copics, some retired SU DP and a sentiment from Curly Cute.  The fun border is made from 3/4” circles punched from Poppy Parade cardstock and adhered to the back of the DP (which I cut by tracing a saucer on the back!!!).  The finishing touch was that pretty SU brad in the center of the flower!

I hope you’ll find some time to stamp something with these fun & funky colors!  Be sure to boogie on over to the ColourQ blog to see what our other AMAZING designers have created.  I am continually inspired by them and by you!!!  Have fun!

Paper Players 65

DSCF8244-1

Happy Sunday—it’s Paper Players time again!  This week Anne Marie has a sweet sketch for us!  You know I like things in threes, so this had me doin’ a happy dance:

pp65

I did place my embellishment at the top of my focal point because it just fit better with this rustic pump image from Countryside:

PP65

I am always running low on masculine cards, so I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to use some Well Worn DP with this image.  I sponged around the circle, then watercolored  the line drawing  with some ink and an aquapainter:

DSCF8245

The image itself has shading, so it was a quick and easy one to color!  I added a little shadow outside with a Sahara Sand marker.  I also sponged the Cajun Craze circular mat with some Very Vanilla craft ink to mimic the rustic look of the DP.  That same ink was used to ink up the Woodgrain background (I was channeling my inner Nance!).  Some twill embellishments finished it off; the sentiment is from Curly Cute.

I hope you’ll play with us and this terrific sketch—there are lots of possibilities with this one!  Meander on over to the Paper Players blog and share your creation with us!

PPA100 Delft Tile

PP47 banner

I was excited to see the 100th challenge on the Pals Paper Arts blog---I have been following them regularly, and their design team is superb!  I had this card made for another challenge, but never posted it, so I thought it would be fun to do for their “magnifique technique” challenge!  I first saw the Delft tile technique on SCS here.  I changed mine a tiny little bit by embossing the whole image that had been stamped with Vintage Vogue.  Let me know what you think:

PP47

Here is a closeup of the “tiles” with the clear embossing:

PP47 closeup 3

PP47 closeup 2

Almost looks like real tile, doesn’t it?  I didn’t want to detract from the image itself, so I left my Curly Cute sentiment and embellishments fairly simple.  Thanks for visiting today!
