JAI370 and CCIC Herb Garden

Hi everyone!  I am squeaking in this card so I can make the Just Add Ink sketch deadline!  It's also for the pretty inspiration photo at Curtain Call!  Check them out:

I always need thank you cards, so I went to work, using images from Awesomely Artistic and Colorful Seasons, stamping them in Lemon Lime Twist and Wild Wasabi inks:

I added some "greenery" with diecuts from Bouquet Bunch and mounted it on a thick white card which was embossed with the Woodgrain embossing folder.  My sentiment came from an old SU kit and was stamped in Basic Gray and trimmed to a narrow border, under which I added a Smoky Slate mat with a tiny little bit of washi tape peeking out:

My final embellishment were a few little sequins!  Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy and the neighbor boy were playing last week....Cassidy was frustrated because she wanted to pedal the trike....typical only-child attitude, LOL!  They finally ended up swimming, which was a happier activity!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

MOJO43 and Curtain Call Felt Snowman

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  My card today is one that, in my mind, was going to be really, really cute.  In reality...not so cute!  But I am not one to let my time spent in my craft room be for naught, so here it is anyway!  I was enthralled by the Curtain Call felt challenge (LOVE felt) and thought I could incorporate the Mojo Monday sketch as well:

So here we go:

I have a fun little W + 9 snowman die set, so I used it to cut out my snowman and scarf, adhering them to another piece of felt that had been cut with a stitched rectangle die (Lil'Inker).  I added some French knot eyes and buttons, and a little Pumpkin Pie glimmer nose:

I adhered some SU snowflake sequins and stamped snowflakes on the background of my Naturals White card.  I stamped a sentiment from Oh What Fun in Lost Lagoon ink and used my NEW Stitched Shapes dies to cut it out.....I used the square one, and after the first cut, I moved the die closer to the sentiment and re-cut just the portion I needed to get a rectangle:

The burlap paper is from BoBunny's Farmer's Market collection!  Thanks for popping in today!

Speaking of felt, I met with some ladies down the road last week to do a craft; the candle mat was felt, but the pumpkins were actually wool:

It was fun to do some different crafting!  Enjoy your day!  I'll have some pix of Cassidy tomorrow!

Curtain Call Birdhouse

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  It's the middle of the week, yay!  The Curtain Call challenge this week is so sweet, I just had to play along!  Check out this sweet inspiration photo:

I pulled out my favorite birdhouse image from Garden Pleasures and stamped it on some watercolor paper, then colored it with an aquapainter and reinkers in Watermelon Wonder, Soft Suede, Crushed Curry and Crumb Cake:

I had some digital gingham paper already printed up, found it in my stash and I thought it worked perfectly with this country image!  I did use a mat of a new In Color called Flirty Flamingo, and I also used a new scalloped square die....both will be in the upcoming catalog!  I added a little linen bow to the birdhouse:

and finally, a little sentiment from Stamplorations (Trendy Feathers), stamped on the banner from the Large Numbers Framelit, accented with a little flower:

I know the trend nowadays is to make cards that are more eclectic and free-style, but I do love this more structured, layered look....it just makes me smile!  Now....to whom should I send this little note??  Maybe it will be in YOUR mailbox!

Cassidy had been bugging me for days to make "slime"...we called it flubber...so we went to work with some glue, dye and borax:

It worked!  It's really weird-feeling, but it kept her entertained for quite a while!

Thanks for popping in today!

FMS226 and Curtain Call Thanks

Hi everyone!  Hope you're having a wonderful week so far!  I seem to be needing a lot of thank you cards lately...here's another one using the Freshly Made Sketches sketch from Rita as well as the yummy Key Lime palette from Curtain Call:

I've been hoarding these lovely Graphic 45 papers from the Botanical Tea 6x6 pad, so I decided to put them to use:

I think this sketch is perfect since it allows that beautiful botanical paper to take center stage!  I pulled out an old SU set called Best Friends Forever and second-generation stamped it on some Very Vanilla in Wild Wasabi, then stamped the "thanks" in full-strength WW on top, using a sentiment from the Watercolor Wishes card kit.  I added a little double-layer butterfly, punched from Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper and some vellum that I stamped with white craft ink and layered on a little green chalk:  I love how the glimmer paper gives a little subtle sparkle:

Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy set up a changing table pn her nightstand for her Baby Alive doll!  First the powder and the diaper:

First layer of clothes:

Hmmm, getting that second skirt over the first one requires some gymnastics:

Finally all dressed....shoes, skirt and all!

Merry Crittermas

DSCF7383

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Hope you’re having a great weekend so far! Thank you so much for the anniversary wishes!  We had a lovely day, did some thrift store shopping and then had a nice meal and John got the BIGGEST prime rib I have ever seen.  I wish I had a smart phone so I could share it with you.  It was humongous!!!

I have been neglectful in making my weekly Christmas cards since leaving my friends at Merry Monday, and I know I will regret it if I don’t get a headstart for the next Christmas season!  When I saw Katie’s hysterical inspiration photo for this week’s challenge, I knew I HAD to play along!  Check this out:
Just tooo cute!  I also used the Match The Sketch for this week:
and incorporated the colors from the Curtain Call challenge:

And here is my card featuring the little bunny from the retired SU set called Merry Crittermas:

This is a little more involved than what I normally do for a Christmas card, but it was fun to do some painting and add a few more embellishments than I normally do!  I stamped the wee bunny on a piece of Whisper White, watercolored him in Island Indigo, Strawberry Slush, Crumb Cake and Soft Sky, then fussy cut him out and mounted him on his snowy hill:

I added some Frosted Sequins from the holiday mini along with a few from my stash. My other embellishment is a bow tied with Strawberry Slush baker’s twine, using my one-hole bow technique so it doesn’t slide around!  Of course, I added some snowy glitter too!  So fun!  Thanks for visiting today, and be sure to stop back tomorrow where I am the hostess at the Paper Players!

She is just growing up tooooo fast!  Doesn’t she look like she’s about 12 here?

HSS201 and CC1215

DSCF6841

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  I needed a little Christmas card for a secret sister, and when I saw the sketch at Hand Stamped Sentiments, as well as the Curtain Call challenge, I decided to pair them up!

I had some of this older SU paper on my desk from another project, so I just used some bits of it along with a couple of cute candy and gingerbread images from TPC’s Sweet Christmas:

DSCF6842

I embossed the gingerbread man with white craft ink and white embossing powder, and the candy is colored with markers and embellished with a Jelly Roll pen….it’s really fun and sparkly in real life, it’s a shame you can’t see it here!

DSCF6839

The sentiment is from Lil’Inkers, and I combined some red and silver baker’s twine along with a couple of embossing folders to finish it off!  It’s as sweet as my secret sister is….she is a real sweetheart!

Grampy (also know as Mr Gadget in our household) was getting frustrated as he watched Cassidy “open” our mail by ripping apart the envelopes, so (only as a man can do) he showed her how to use a butter knife as an letter opener:

Success!  Now I just have to watch that she doesn’t try to do this on her own!

Enjoy your day!

Curtain Call Pink and Pretty

DSCF2887

Happy Saturday peeps!  Hope you have something fun planned for this weekend…even if you’re a mom or not!  I am squeaking in this Curtain Call card by minutes; it’s another bridal shower card, and the bride’s colors just happen to be pink and gold, so I thought it was a good choice for the challenge.  Here’s the inspiration photo:

and here’s my card:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Just For You Shower Card Stampin

I used some scraps from a designer paper stack I got years ago, cutting the floral portion out with a circle die and adding gold elements:  one portion of the Sweet & Sassy sentiment is heat embossed in gold, the other is stamped with gold encore, the leaves are diecut from SU’s Gold Foil and I added a few of SU’s Gold Sequins.  I lightly colored a few taffeta roses with pink ink and added them as well:

DSCF2882

I added a Brushed Gold mat and some gold speckles too!  Now be sure to come back tomorrow for a great color challenge at the Paper Players

We are encouraging Cassidy in her “cleaning” lessons, and when she asked to clean the table after dinner yesterday, we agreed!  We just didn’t know she’d get so into it:

We were all laughing so hard, we couldn’t yell at her to tell her to get off the table!!!  Enjoy your day!
