Happy Tuesday, peeps! We are about washed out here in PA….rain, rain, rain…..almost every day and yesterday, just about ALL day! I am not complaining, there are parts of the country that have it much worse than we do….but anyway, it’s sunny and dry at the ColourQ today:
Isn’t this a sweet Jim Shore patriotic angel? It reminded me of one of my oldest SU sets, Country Angel. Instead of making a card, I thought I’d make a little décor item, since I have LOTS of patriotic décor, and she would fit right in:
I began by stamping my angel in Stazon on some lightweight watercolor paper, then simply used an Aquapainter and inks to color her in using the challenge colors. I cut her out and mounted her on a Crumb Cake oval that had been stamped with a vintage checkerboard image and some white stars. I added some popped-up stars from the same set and three banners. Finally, I used an old SU block and stamped a Waltzingmouse sentiment on it (it bled a little, but that adds to the rustic look, right?), and then had DH drill a hole so I could add my little skewered angel. This is also for the Ribbon Carousel Challenge 83, which is "showing your heritage" with ribbon, of course! I added some ribbons to her skewer as well as her banner. I bent her wings up a bit, too:
I think she is pretty sweet! What do you think? Remember, if you have any questions, just shoot me an email….my address is at the top right sidebar! I hope that this will tempt you to make a project with these colors---it doesn’t even have to be patriotic! If you check out the designers’ samples at the ColourQ blog, you’ll see how some of them are not patriotic at all! COOL!
I don’t have any Cassidy pictures today, but I do have blueberry-pickin’ pictures! It cleared up enough on Sunday afternoon to pick about 35 pounds:
The total haul so far:
Into the freezer they’ll go….and on to our cereal all year long! Yum!
