AHSC571 Thanks for Everything

Happy Wednesday, all!  Time for a new Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge and here it is:

I needed a special thank you card for one of my stampers who is always so generous and kind!  I am trying to use up some of the beautiful designer papers that will be retiring soon, so I pulled out some Inked Botanicals along with the Color and Contour stamps and dies and went to work:

I am using some colors from the Color Dare challenge choosing yellow and light teal as my colors:

The florals are stamped in Lost Lagoon, and I stamped off the "filler" part of the flower, then added some Lemon Lolly speckles as well as some yellow mat dots for fun. I used some retired yellow and white baker's twine to added a little more interest:

My sentiment was also stamped in Lost Lagoon, and I layered different patterns of DSP on a base of Lost Lagoon that was embossed with the Cane Weave embossing folder.  I did sponge some white ink on the embossing for a lighter look:

I like this fresh color combo!  And I love the sketch too!  I hope you'll play along with us...there are endless variations to it, and it may be a great way to use up some of those little scraps we all have!  Be sure to share your creation with us at Atlantic Hearts!

His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence. 2 Peter 1:3

PP638 Tic Tac Toe

Happy Sunday, peeps, and happy last day of April!  Wow, that month flew by!  Anne Marie is our Paper Player hostess this week and since it's the fifth Sunday, we have a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge!  Here we go:

I went with the middle row across of ribbon, die cut and patterned paper!  I am still trying to give my retiring stamps one last go of it; can you tell which stamp I used?

Pretty obvious, huh?  That Knit Together background stamp works perfectly with this little crafty llama from Zany Zoo, don't you think?  I stamped the background in Blushing Bride on a piece of pink  Awash with Beauty DSP, which has a soft of watercolor look to it, which gave the knit pattern a very realistic look, in my opinion!  I stamped Miss Llama in Memento black and colored her in with the some Blends:

then mounted her on a tag and added some ribbons from the Zany Zoo bundle:

The horizontal panel is some Parakeet Party DSP, and I added some little white gel pen dots to her chair to coordinate!!  The sentiment is from Color & Contour.  I just love every little animal in this set, I can't wait to play with them some more!  And I think I'll keep the Knit background just for her!

I hope our TTT grid will give you some inspiration to play along with us this week!  Check out the other samples from our talened Design Team over at the Paper Players blog and see what tickles your fancy!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

HSS401 Let's Celebrate

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I have a birthday card to share today, and it uses the sketch from Hand-Stamped Sentiments:

Although the sketch shows snowflakes, I opted for flowers, and thought I would challenge myself to use Orchid Oasis, since purple hues are really out of my comfort zone!  So here we go:

I used DSPs in Orchid Oasis for the main panels, then stamped florals from Color & Contour in matching ink, stamping off once for the "filler" portion of the flower.  The sentiment is from Simply Fabulous and although they're hard to see, I added some matte dots here and there:

I used the pretty birthday sentiment from Happiness Abounds on the inside, along with a few more stamped-off flowers!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

SS290 Times Two

Happy Tuesday, folks!  Is it really only Tuesday?  I feel like it should be at least Thursday...it's been a busy start of the week already! I made a card yesterday for the Christmas Card Throwdown theme as well as the Sunday Stamps sketch, then realized I messed up the sketch part!  So I made another one just using the sketch! (I will show you the messed-up one too.)  But first let's see the sketch:

I had been playing around with the new Cottage Wreath bundle, but hadn't really made anything with it, so I had all these wreaths laying around on my desk, so I decided to put one to use.  I got out some Cajun Craze DSPs and went to work:

This particular wreath was stamped with Cajun Craze and Versamark on Vellum, then heat-embossed with clear embossing powder and die cut.  I added a Cinnamon Cider bow and a sentiment from Celebrate Sunflowers, and stuck on some Gilded Gems.  It all went on a Very Vanilla circle:

I added a little filgreen diecut under the banner, and here's the inside, with another wreath outline and a sentiment from Color and Contour:

Here's my original one; the theme for the Christmas Card Throwdown was sledding or skiing:

I pulled out an old stamp; not even sure who made it, maybe Lost Coast Designs, of two children sledding and I it's one of my favorites!  Stamped in Misty Moonlight, it went well with some Carter Bella Welcome Winter papers:

I colored the sky with a pale gray Copic, then added a sentiment from an old stamp from my stash!  The banner looked a little plain, so I added two glimmer diecut snowflakes to match the fun Metallic Mesh ribbon that I used for the horizontal piece.  My error on this card was that I centered the banner, but I certainly wasn't going to chuck it, LOL!

On the inside, I added a sentiment from Papertrey Ink:

Thanks for visiting today!

A family birthday party for the birthday girl...it was a long week of celebrating!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP604 Here For You Now

Hello, peeps!  Happy Sunday and time for a new Paper Players challenge!  Anne Marie has a fun color challenge for us all:

Sadly, I needed a sympathy card for a sweet friend from church who just lost her second daughter in the last three years.  The black and white prints from the retired True Love DSP was perfect for a simple (that's my key word lately) sympathy card:

I used a Daffodil Delight marker to color in just three of the flowers for Anne Marie's "pop" of color, then added a diecut banner with a sentiment from Color & Contour, and another wee little Daffodil Delight banner to tuck underneath.  I added a yellow rhinestone for a pop of bling!

And I added the second portion of the sentiment, along with another sweet sentiment from Eden's Garden, on the inside:

My heart breaks for her and I hope this brings her comfort!

Now, I hope you'll play along with us too...black, white and a pop of any color!  Check out what the DT did over at the Paper Players blog and get some inspiration!

So here are the three amigos (John's nephew Phil, John, and John's brother-in-law Charlie) on their fishing trip on the Chesapeake yesterday....Wayne took the photo!  What a gorgeous day to be on the water!

And this is what's left of the striper....leftovers for tonight!  It was delicious!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC464 Hello!

Happy Thursday, peeps! I have a quick little card for you today, it's 4 1/4" square and it uses the sketch from Atlantic Hearts:

So here we go:

Not sure what the name of this style is called....a flap fold?  Anyway, the 8 1/2" side was scored at 1 1/2" and 5 3/4", then folded together, and the top "flap" is 3" square.

I stamped the floral panel with the single flower and leaf from Color and Contour using Balmy Blue, Misty Moonlight and Mossy Meadow inks, then stamped the sentiment from Biggest Wish in Mossy Meadow as well.    Here it is, a little open:

The designer papers are from You're A Peach, and I dyed some white crinked seam binding ribbon with a Mossy Meadow Blend, which is pretty darn awesome!  I love how it turned out!  And I finished the inside with a birthday sentiment, and added sequins to the front for some sparkle!

This card is already in the mail, too!  Thanks for popping in today!

Our weather yesterday was beautiful, almost 70 degrees.  Not this warm though, but kids love to try to prove you wrong!! Dana said Cassidy was cold while they played cornhole, but she refused to get out of her shorts, tank top and flip flops....in MARCH!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!  And keep praying for Ukraine!

Casology Straw Hat Anniversary

Happy Monday, peeps!  Weird weather this weekend....very warm for March.  It makes me nervous, like we're going to get "rewarded" with a snowstorm next week or something, LOL!  Anyway, can't do a thing about it so I just go to my stamp room and stamp!  A couple in our church are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary!  Casology had a fun challenge of "hat" and I had been wanting to use this straw hat image from one of my absolute favorite retired sets, Garden Pleasures.

So here we go:

I needed my card to be really clean and simple, so I just placed my stamp (it's an old wood one but I took it off the block) in my Stamparatus and stamped it in Memento Black, cleaned it and then stamped again in Versamark without moving it.  Then I heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder and simply colored it with an aquapainter and reinkers.  Normally I don't like to watercolor on regular cardstock because it pills, but with the embossing and it being a smaller image, it worked great!

I added a sentiment from the SAB set Special Moments and a few speckles from Color and Contour, then stamped my sentiments from the retired Number of Years on the inside:

70 years is amazing.....a real testimony to their commitment to each other and to the Lord!  Thanks for popping in today!

The saga of Eden and the dog bed continues:

No caption needed, LOL!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CAS in Blue

Happy Monday, peeps!  I gave my blue-hued ink pads a workout yesterday, as I needed two sympathy cards and I found a couple of CAS challenges that fit their bill.  The first uses another one of the masks (stencils) that I've been playing with lately; this time I used the butterfly one:

After stenciling in Balmy Blue, Misty Moonlight and Pacific Point, I added a sentiment from Eden's Garden and some speckles from Color and Contour:

I added a blue rhinestone and mounted everything on a Balmy Blue base.  It fits the bill for the SUO CAS challenge as well as the Krafty Secrets CAS challenge!

My second card uses a Hero Arts stamp that I normally think of as a Christmas image, but I thought it would work well for a wintery sympathy card:

The image was stamped in Misty Moonlight, as was the sentiment from Special Moments:

I popped up the panel on dimensionals and it's ready to go.  It fits the Double D challenge for this week of blue and white winter:

I used the upper left photo as my inspiration!  Thanks to Diane, I am also entering it at Colorful Options  challenge:

Thanks so much for popping in today!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP562 Thinking of You

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It has been a crazy weekend, lots of family stuff going on!  I was so distracted that I totally did the wrong Paper Players challenge!  Luckily, I was able to create this card in a jiffy, so now you'll have to wait until next week to see what I made by mistake!  It's Anne Marie's turn to be our hostess and she has a lovely color challenge for us:

I love peach and orange hues, so I was happy to use them!  I pulled out the Color and Contour bundle, some Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped some florals for my card today:

First, I randomly stamped the daisy image all over a Pale Papaya card base.  Then I stamped my floral outlines in Early Espresso, and filled in the flowers with Pale Papaya and Pumpkin Pie.  I was surprised at how dark the Pumpkin Pie looked on the Very Vanilla cardstock; it almost looked like Cajun Craze!  But I double checked my ink pad and it was indeed, Pumpkin Pie!

After diecutting them, I layered them on a panel that was stamped with the word image from Quiet Meadow, and added a Very Vanilla scalloped mat.  The sentiment is also from Quiet Meadow, diecut with a Tailor Made tag, and I added some Pale Papaya ribbon and a few sequins:

I think this would be appropriate for any number of occasions!  I hope you'll find some inspiration from our colors this week; be sure to share your creations with us at the Paper Players!  Thanks for visiting today!

My sister was visiting from South Carolina and wanted to visit my niece to see her new dog, Henry:

Henry has two "brothers", Winston and  Leroy, so it is like a three-dog circus at my niece's house!  It was almost as disorganized as trying to get a picture of my two nieces and my sister and I lined up for a photo!

We finally made it...only to see my BIL was adding his two cents (or two fingers) in from behind!  Crazy!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
