AYSI365 Celebrate in Red

Happy Friday, all!  Time for a new As You See It challenge, and it's a recipe!  Here we go:

My first thought was Valentine's, what with the shades of red, but in the end, I went with Christmas!!  Here we go:

I combined a lot of retired products for this card; some Cherry Cobbler DSP; a pine tree diecut; a Cherry Cobbler glimmer "celebrate" and some scalloped die-cut vellum.  And who doesn't love a couple of cardinals?:

I used an adhesive sheet behind the "celebrate" diecut to make it adhere more easily!

The inside features a sentiment from Christmas labels, and I added another little cardinal for fun:

I hope that you'll mix all these ingredients together and create something wonderful as well!  We can't wait to see what that is! Share it with us at As You See It!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

JB2601 Wrapping Paper Santa

Happy Wednesday, peeps! I am starting off the new year with some Christmas cards, LOL!  I totally wiped out my supply last year, so I need to start replenishing!  The Jingle Belles want to see cards made with gift wrapping supplies!  Dana had some really cute gift wrap this year and she gave me some little pieces that she had left over---even before I saw this challenge!  Woohoo!  So here we go:

I am not sure what kind of fold you call this card....it's a standard 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" size, scored on the 8 1/2" side at 4 1/4" and 2 1/8".  I guess maybe a z-fold card?  Anyway, The Santa and the stripes are both from wrapping paper; card base is Crumb Cake and I embossed a piece of Shaded Spruce with a holly embossing folder for the front.  I made a belly band (that is positioned crookedly right now!) with some retired Riding Hood Red cardstock and I added the sentiment, popped up so it would slide over Santa's beard.  Here's the inside:

It's hard to see, but Santa's beard is embellished with Wink of Stella, and I added a few snowflake sequins for fun!   Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC656 Noel

Happy Monday, peeps! We have a lovely sketch for you at Atlantic Hearts this week:

Nice and easy!  I am working on increasing my Christmas card stash, so here we go:

I used some postage stampp images from Elizabeth Craft Designs, along with an oldie-but-goodie sentiment stamp from Many Merry Messages!   I stamped the images with Mossy Meadow ink on Mellow Moss and Basic Beige cardstocks:

I added some Cherry Cobbler layers as well as a single snowflake to give it a little contrast.  A sentiment from Christmas Labels and a little deer from the Elizabeth set went on the inside:

Simple and easy! I hope you'll play with our lovely sketch this week too! Share your creation with us at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog!

For John's birthday, we went to a local brew pub where he got a salad that came on the most enormous plate I've ever seen! (He also got some cheesesteak eggrolls!):

What made the meal extra special was that the restaurant used to be a garage---a garage owned by my uncle!  I can remember going there with my dad when I was a little girl....at least 60 years ago! It changed a wee bit!  The only downside was that it was extremely loud, but I guess that's because it was jam packed, so it must be popular!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP763 Tic Tac Toe Be Merry

Happy Sunday, peeps! Wow, the last Sunday of August, and that means that Joanne has a fun  Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe grid for us:

I chose the diagonal of stencil, free and animal!  So here we go:

I recently got some plaid-making stencils, and I learned that I definitely need some more practice on them, LOL!  This particular plaid used Old Olive and Soft Sea Foam Inks, and I added a thin line with a Mossy Meadow marker.  I was using Blending Brushes but I am think the little foam daubers might be a better choice for the narrow openings---anyone have any tips?!  Anyway, after doing the plaid, I added a stitched border of Mossy Meadow, then stamped the deer image from Rustic Centerpiece on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  I think this image is detailed enough that it can shine on its own without being colored in:

Finally, I added a tag and a sentiment from the Christmas Labels stamp set and added some ribbon and floss:

Another sentiment went on the inside:

I hope you'll play along with Joanne's Tic-Tac-Toe grid this week!  So many possibilities! Share your creation with us at the Paper Players blog! We can't wait to see what you come up with!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

52CCTD Pop Up Christmas Card

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I have been very neglectful in making Christmas card this year; not sure why, because they are my favorite cards to make!  The 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge was to make a pop-up card, and I thought this card by Andrea was just beautiful!

My card is much more simplified than hers, as I was just trying to get the measurements and the engineering of the card to work!!  So here we go:

Outside:

Inside:

My card base is Basic Beige, and the front is a panel from Divinity Designs' Christmas Paper Collection 2014.  The inside, which measures 4" x 6 1/4", scored on each long side at 2" and 2 1/2", is from SU's retired Dandy Designs.  You can see how the fold works here:

I added a panel of Gold Glimmer paper and a sentiment from Christmas Labels, stamped in Boho Blue.  The panel can fold to either side to fit in the envelope easily.  My only other embellishment was a gold dot on the star on the front of the card.  Simple and easy!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

I have complete confidence in the gospel; it is God's power to save all who believe, first the Jews and also the Gentiles.  For the gospel reveals how God puts people right with himself:  it is through faith from beginning to end.  As the scripture says, "The person who is put right with God through faith shall live."  Romans 1:16-17

FMS652 Hot Cocoa Day

Happy Thursday, everyone! I am back from vacationing at the Delaware shore and we had lovely weather and a wonderful time! I felt a bit rusty going into my stamp room yesterday, but Linda had a fun sketch at FMS, so that helped get me started!  Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

I couldn't wait to play with the new DSP called Sentimental Christmas, along with a sentiment from Christmas Labels!  I just think that sentiment is the cutest! I added a cup of cocoa from Latte Love, stamped in Poppy Parade on Basic Beige, and I added a snowflake from Iconic Imagery:

The circle die is from Spotlight on Nature dies; I added a small snowflake from a retired set called Warmth & Wonder.  The horizontal panel is a piece of Pecan Pie cut with a die from Iconic Imagery as well; I cut it in half to make it seem longer!  Here's the inside:

While I had all my supplies out, I made another card; this time I used the Christmas Labels die as well as the smaller cups, diecut from the striped paper:

And here's the inside as well:

I love these papers!  Thanks for visiting today!

Dana, Wayne and Cassidy came to spend a few days with us on vacation, which was really fun!  We took a sunset lighthouse and dolphin cruise from Lewes; the sunset wasn't cooperative, but we saw LOTS of dolphins!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC592 Christmas Washi

Happy Monday, peeps! Time for a new Atlantic Hearts sketch! Check it out:

These diagonal lines reminded me of washi tape, which I rarely use! I pulled out some Christmas ones and did some layering:

For the floral element, I diecut a snowflake from some CTMH glimmer paper, along with a few little swirls:

I stamped one of the new Christmas Labels in retired Baja Breeze ink, along with a cute little Iconic Imagery snowflake!

This one went together quickly, once I figured out what I wanted to do!  Hope you'll play along too!  You'll be able to see all the DT samples on Wednesday so be sure to check them out at Atlantic Hearts.

I am going to be taking a little bloggy break for the next week or so, doing some R&R!  I'll see you in September (remember that song?!)!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC591 Peace & Joy

Happy Monday, peeps! I am playing with some new goodies today, using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch:

The new Graceful Greenery vellum is really pretty; it coordinates with the Golden Greenery stamp set, but I paired it today with a sentiment from Iconic Images:

I backed the vellum with a piece of Basic White so I could layer it on a Mossy Meadow card, which I stamped with a sprig from the retired Sparkle of the Season.  I stamped the sentiment words in Old Olive and Pecan Pie on an Iconic Imagery die, and layered it on a Spotlight on Nature circle diecut:

I stamped a couple of little sprinkles behind the sentiment, and put some linen thread behind it.  The inside sentiment and die are from Christmas Labels....you're going to be seeing a lot of this in the future!

This is a lovely sketch and I hope you'll play along at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!

She liked the card!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI330 & JB2417 Vintage St Nick

Happy Friday, peeps! I have been struggling with my creativity these last few days....I am overwhelmed with new product and I don't know where to begin! I did force myself to create a new Christmas card because the As You See It Challenge is vintage, as well as the Jingle Belles challenge chose the Spirit of Christmas Past for their current challenge. I had not delved into my Traditions of St Nick DSP or the new upcoming Christmas Labels bundle, so that gave me some impetus!  Here's the challenge prompt:

And here's my card; again, not fabulously creative but it gave me a chance to use some new stuff:

I fussy cut St Nick along with some tree and popped him up on a piece of Country Lace DSP, matted wtih Mossy Meadow.  I did give him some shading with a sponge dauber and Crumb Cake ink:

The front of the card is the opposite side of the St Nick DSP, which is a pretty vintage pattern in Real Red.  I diecut one of the labels from Basic Beige cardstock and added the sentiment; it is so cool how the words fit right into the panels of the label!  Love it!  I did add some little glimmer paper stars using the star die from Iconic Imagery:

Inside was another sentiment from Christmas Labels!

I think I'd going to spend some time at the pool today...rain is forecasted for tomorrow and I've been busy in the house all week long, so some "outdoor time" is needed!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
