To a Deer Friend

Happy Thanksgiving eve, everyone!  I have a fun little Christmas card today, a bit "punny", and it is for three challenges:  Color My Heart Color Dare wants shades of brown, plus two other colors; Christmas Kickstart wants to see antlers, and the CAS Colours & Sketches is a sketch:

I had not used the pretty little deer from Papertrey's Deer To Me for a long time, so I got to work:

My shades of brown are Crumb Cake, Basic Beige, Pecan Pie and Early Espresso; I added Real Red and Shaded Spruce as my two additional colors.  I faintly stamped trees from Pine Tree Trimmings in the background, and the punny sentiment is from Poppy Stamps' Whittle Sayings:

A sentiment from Best Year went on the inside:

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC647 Blue Santa

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I should be working on Halloween cards, but I keep gravitating to Christmas, LOL!  The Atlantic Hearts sketch this week, along with the Christmas Kickstart challenge, had me thinking Santa!  First here's our sketch:

And the Kickstart challenge is "Santa in September":

I wanted to do something a wee bit untraditional, so I stamped this vintage Santa in some Boho Blue ink and mounted him on some blue snowflake paper:

The set also comes with this pretty sentiment; I embellished Santa with a star sequin and a silver pearl, and added some retired SU silver ribbon:

And I love the font on the sentiment I stamped on the inside:

This sketch is so versatile; you could use it with any style image and for any occasion!  I hope you'll play along with us over at the Atlantic Hearts blog! See you there!  Thank you for popping in today; enjoy it and be blessed!

CAS Sparkly Wreath

Happy Tuesday, all! I have a real quick Christmas card today, it uses the CAS Colours & Sentiments sketch as well as the Christmas Kickstart challenge to use a wreath:

I pulled out some goodies and went to work:

My paper is from Unity, called Watercolor Tidings, and the Avery Elle diecuts were made with some retired glimmer paper from SU.  This wreath is just so pretty:

The sentiments are from Simon Says Stamp, called Tiny Words Christmas, and they were stamped in Emerald Envy ink.  I did add a few more little glimmer stars on the inside since the sentiment words are so small!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Sending Holiday Cheer

Hey there, peeps, I am squeaking in another card today because I've been trying to make a Christmas card for the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown for days now and it ends tomorrow!  SO....here's the challenge:

Now I admit that my red and green hues are not exactly the ones pictured above, but they are still red and green!  Here we go:

My little warm hat and mittens are from an old W+9 set called Holiday Cheer; I stamped them in Soft Succulent and Merry Merlot inks and diecut them with the matching die.  Some older DSP provided a holiday background, and the Tim Holtz embossing folder added to the alpine flair!

A sentiment from SU's Peaceful Season finished it off on the inside:

And since I am using some "winter warmers", I am also entering this at the Christmas Kickstart Challenge:

Another fun holiday card to add to my stash!  Thanks again for popping in today; enjoy it and be blessed!

One Layer Poinsettia

Happy Thursday, all!  The Jingle Belles challenge this week is to make a one-layer card, and the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge is an interesting color palette:

And the Christmas Kickstart challenge is poinsettias:

so I pulled out an old SU favorite, Poinsettia Petals, and went to work:

At first glance, this seems to be rather a not-very-cheery Christmas card, but the photo really doesn't do it justice!  I heat-embossed the poinsettia with Pebble Path and Versamark inks and clear embossing powder, and colored it with the Moody Mauve and Blackberry Bliss inks.  In hindsight, I would not add the shading around the outer edges, but you know how it does....once you start, you gotta keep going! I added some speckles and a pretty sentiment, all on a Basic Beige card base:

The embossing really gives it a nice touch!  I added a sentiment from the same poinsettia set as well as some stamped berries:

One-layer cards can be a challenge, but it can be done!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Winterly Tree Tops Peace

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I had a chance to play with the new Winterly Tree Tops set, which will be available soon!  I am entering my card in the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge, which is to color in an image, as well as the Christmas Kickstart Challenge, which is festive frames!

I began by stamping the cardinal pair on Thick Basic White with Stazon black ink, diecutting them out, and watercoloring them:

I diecut the frame from the same set of dies, and layered it on a piece of the coordinating DSP, Nests of Winter.  I just LOVE this pattern!  I then popped up the cardinals:

And I used a retired sentiment from Wrapped In Christmas, diecut with the Stylish Shapes dies:

I wish we had some white glimmer paper, because this frame would look amazing diecut from that!

Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS639 Season's Greetings

Happy Thursday! I have a fun little Christmas card for you today; it uses the FMS sketch as well as the theme of "gift" from Christmas Kickstart:

Here we go:

I diecut some papers from Echo Park's Christmas Salutations, embossing a sentiment on a banner also cut from the papers.  Everything went on a Tim Holtz-embossed panel of Basic White on a Mossy Meadow card.  The little gift is from the retired Little Treats, as are the inside sentiments and images:

This was a fun one to put together! Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Merry Recycled Snowman

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I have a very quick card for you today....I usually recycle my non-stamped Christmas cards to St Jude's, but when I came across this little snowman, I had to keep him!  I fussy-cut him out and he fit quite nicely in the corner of my latest Christmas card:

I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches and since I made a four-layer sentiment, I am also entering at Christmas Kickstart, which wants a center-stage sentiment:

The way these SU Christmas Greeting dies are made, when they go through the Big Shot, they make these little polka-dots on them.....I'll just consider that "decoration"!!

The plaid background papers are from Photoplay's Mad 4 Plaid Christmas; I added a little baker's twine bow to his hat just for fun:

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CAS Christmas Silhouette

Happy Friday, peeps!  Hope you have something fun planned for the weekend! I have a clean-and-simple Christmas card for you today; it uses the Freshly Made Sketches sketch and the Christmas Kickstart theme challenge of stockings!

I pulled out an old Cornish Heritage Farms silhouette of three little boys sneaking down the stairway, stockings in hand, and another CHF set supplied the sentiment:

I used some plaid background paper; stamped the little boys in Memento Black, and added a couple of pale gray banners and some enamel dots!

Simple and easy! Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy created a USA-bot!

Santa Silhouette

Happy Monday, peeps!  I had a non-stamping weekend, so I am a wee bit late posting today!  I found a few challenges with which to create my simple Christmas card today:  the Christmas Kickstart wants Santa and friends; Less is More has a sketch challenge; and Krafty Chicks wants Christmas!

So here we go:

My Santa and elves image is from TCP Christmas Silhouettes, which I stamped in Mossy Meadow, then diecut with a Stitched Rectangle die.  I added a stitched star diecut (Paper Rose) and a sentiment from Concord & 9th's Joyful Noel:

I added a Holiday Rhinestone gem to the center of the star, and the papers I used are from Simple Stories' Simple Vintage Christmas, mounted on a Mossy Meadow card.

Dana sent me this photo as she was taking a walk early Saturday morning; this isn't at her house, but a neighbor's.  This little opossum must have been taking a walk too!

Thanks so much for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!
