TTT142 Peace

Hi there, peeps!  Time for a new Tic Tac Toe challenge!  Here's our grid:

I chose the right column of die cuts, Christmas, and white on white.  And I will tell you that photographing a white-on-white card is a challenge!  Here we go:

I heat embossed the retired Christmas Collage background stamp in Craft White ink and white embossing powder, then mounted it on a piece of silver paper I had in my stash.  I diecut the word "peace" from the same silver paper and mounted it in the open panel at the top right; you can see the embossing a wee bit better here:

On the lower left, I embossed and diecut some white holly leaves and berries and popped them up:

And on the inside, I stamped a sentiment in Silver Encore ink to go with the silver accents on the front.  I really wanted to add some embellishments, but I liked the simplicity of the white, so I left it as it was!

I am also going to enter this at Try Stampin' on Tuesday, which wants us to "Keep it Off Center":

This is such a nice board full of pretty possibilities!  Be sure to check out the Tic Tac Toe blog to see what the other members of Team X came up with, then share yours with us too!  Thanks for popping by today!

My great-nephew Zion (on John's side) was quite proud of the Lego T-Rex he made on Thanksgiving day!  He's quite a clever little guy:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI262 Prince of Peace

Happy Friday, stampers!  It's time for a new As You See It challenge....and I love this "Fill in the Blank":

For me, the one thing that sums up Christmas is our ultimate gift: the birth of Jesus, our Saviour!  I used a Nativity die along with several other dies to create my card today:

I used a stitched panel die from the Stockings dies to cut a panel from Crumb Cake, and I stamped a portion of the retired Christmas Collage background stamp on top in Crumb Cake ink, sponging the edges a bit.  I adhered my Early Espresso Nativity scene on top:

My background was a piece of Evening Evergreen, diecut with the Scalloped Contours die, then embossed with the Wintery embossing folder and sponged with white craft ink.  I added a banner for my sentiment and a gold diecut star, along with a few other gold stars scattered around:

I added a sentiment with a little gold Zig Painty pen dot on the inside of my Crumb Cake base:

Finally, for my layout, I used the Make the Cards sketch from their current challenge:

I struggled with the colors on this card, I am thinking I should have done a dark blue background, so maybe I'll try another one again!  Meanwhile...this is it!  So what sums up Christmas for you? I hope you'll check out what the design team members created over at the As You See It blog and share your creation with us as well!

Cassidy's karate club participated in their local Halloween parade last night!  She and her friend Avery were thrilled because they got to carry the GLOW IN THE DARK staffs!  And it was a perfect night for a parade!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid.  I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.  This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Luke 2:10-12

TCC145 Elegant Christmas

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  A new Card Concept Challenge is upon us...check out this beauty:

I have to admit that I struggled a wee bit with this challenge...these are just not colors that I normally gravitate to, but as I said, I have been having fun perusing my older stamps, and this Christmas Collage set came to mind, with its scrolls and elaborate designs, so I thought to emboss it in gold on black for a Classy and Elegant card:

I wanted to add some Very Vanilla to lighten it up a bit; I just got the For Unto Us set, so I stamped one of the smaller sentiments and diecut it with a Stitched Rectangle die, adding a layer of Gold Glimmer paper behind it along with some retired velveteen ribbon:

Although you can't tell here, the gold embossed poinsettia from Poinsettia Petals is actually two layers: Vellum and Very Vanilla.  I tucked it down into the corner, then layered everything on a Very Vanilla card:

Finally, I added another sentiment to the inside:

That's it for today!  I hope you'll play along with our challenge this week; you could use any of the elements, colors or theme for your creation!  Share it with us over at The Card Challenge blog!

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulders, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

Isaiah 9:6

MM182 For The Birds

DSCF3170

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Today’s card is one of those cards…you know the ones I mean.  You get an idea in your head and spend a lot of time on it and somehow, it just doesn’t pan out the way you’d hope it would, but you’ve spent so much time on it, you can’t bear to throw it away…..yeah, this is one of those cards (sigh).  I was happy to see that “birds” were the theme of the Merry Monday challenge:

Isn’t he a cutie?  Well, don’t go looking for him on my card….not there.  But, here it is, nonetheless:

I am not sure which is the worst….the droopy-looking “icicles”; the family silhouetted against the screaming red “wallpaper”…or my poor little bird all alone on the windowsill:

Nah, he’s probably the best part of the whole card!  I do love the background too, but it maybe should have been saved for a different card…..oh well, I like the inside:

I used a bunch of retired sets here, so if anyone wants to know what’s what, just email me!  I think I might hang up my stamping hat if my mojo doesn’t return soon, LOL!

For lunch yesterday, Cassidy was eating a take-home salad from her dinner the night before…

She pointed to the ranch dressing at the bottom of the cup and said, “Look, Grammy!  A uvula!”

Oh my goodness…how does she come up with these things?  Yep, looks like a uvula to me, too!  Now, with that image in your head, enjoy your day!
