CYCI151 Eggstra Special

Hi peeps!  Yay, it's Friday!  I have a big class tomorrow using the Basket Bunch bundle, so I wanted to make some samples for my customers to look at!  Unfortunately, Cassidy was sick yesterday morning, so I didn't get in as much stamping time as I had planned, but I did get one card made, LOL!  I used the Can You Case It sketch by Eva:
I will be very sad to see Mint Macaron go away....almost as sad as when Sage Shadow was retired!  I just love this color!  I pulled out some DSP and some scraps I had on my table to make a little Easter basket:

I also did some dry embossing, and a wee little bit of watercoloring on my little flower!  A bit time-consuming, but a lot of fun!

Cassidy had an upset tummy yesterday, so after a few "upheavals", she took a little nap and by lunchtime, was back to her energetic self!  I wanted to make a couple of Paper Pumpkin samples for my class as well, so of course, she had to make one for Mommy!  She is quite accomplished and knows just how to ink up her stamps....even figured out how to open a SU ink pad...that IS an accomplishment!  She chose the face she wanted to stamp on her bunny,

even adding a row of eggs at the bottom that she colored in with markers:

but she REALLY liked that little pompom tail on the back!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SIP 90 Smiling Shaker

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Hope you're snuggled in warm and tight!  We have had snow, sleet, freezing rain, lots of wind and COLD here in SE PA!  Justin has a great challenge for us at Stamp Ink Paper this week, a great one if you like shaker cards, LOL!

Image may contain: 1 person, text

I've said before that I have a love/hate relationship with shakers....they look so cool but are a bit labor-intensive (at least for me) and something always goes wrong...this is my second attempt, the first was a total disaster:  warped acetate, smeared embossing, wonky card all-round.  So I ditched that one and went in another direction, totally based on the colors of these sequins I had in my stash:

I created a little shaker tag with a tag die from Poppy Stamps called Greeting Tags and backed it with another tag that I cut a little longer.  Inside I put my sequins, then added a diecut "a" and "for you" from Endless Thanks.  I can feel the pressure to use up some of my soon-to-be-retiring products, in this case, the Moroccan DSP...such pretty prints....and not retiring yet, but very unused by me, Dapper Denim!  The sequins colors sort of matched this particular pattern, and I used the Can You Case It sketch:

Here's a closeup of the shaker....I stuffed it pretty full of sequins, so it really doesn't shake too much, but I do love the colors!

Be sure to check out what the DT came up with for this challenge...they're amazing!

Another shot of Cassidy's breakfast at the library for Dr Seuss Day.....yep, GREEN EGGS! Amazingly, she never eats eggs at home, but she decided to try them and discovered that she likes them.  Now I can make them for her for breakfast, but she told me I'll need to make them green, LOL!  Of course, cake, graham bears and goldfish make even green eggs taste better!

Have a blessed day!

CYCI143 Another Birthday

Happy Friday, peeps!  As I am sitting here posting this, there are little tiny white flakes fluttering outside...I know there are some areas that are getting buried in snow, but we haven't had a thing! Anyway, we are having DH's family Christmas tomorrow, along with two birthdays, so here is another birthday card; this one uses the Can You Case It sketch...I haven't played with them for a while!
143
I thought this was going to be a simple card, but I kept adding stuff to it!  I chose yellow and gray as my color palette...here we go:

I used Perfectly Wrapped and Jar of Love for my stamping, along with several stitched and scalloped dies:

I love the little row of hearts in the Everyday Jars framelits set:

I sprinkled the cutouts inside and out!

A few more pix of Cassidy opening her Advent calendar!  One day she got gold, silver and bronze Sharpies!  Woohoo, Grammy might have to borrow these!

The only disadvantage to opening the calendar first thing in the morning is that she wants to try everything out right away and we can't get her to eat breakfast!!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CYCI133 Basket of Wishes

Hi peeps!  I originally intended this card for Saturday but I checked this challenge:
CYCI#133
and it was almost over!  Yikes! So two posts in one day....please indulge me!  I just got this new set called Basket of Wishes...it will be available in the upcoming Holiday mini catalog from SU....and I must be in the watercoloring mood, because I just couldn't wait to play with it!  Here we go:

I stamped the image in Memento black ink on SU's watercolor paper, and colored it with several fall shades of ink...it's a quick, easy little image to fill in with my aquapainter:

Then I mounted it on a square of Delightful Dijon which was diecut with the Layering Squares die...I also ran a small strip of Garden Green through the same die and used it as a little border atop the new DSP called Warmth & Cheer!  I love that I can get additional uses from my dies!  The sentiment was stamped in Soft Suede, and it's easy to miss, but I added some green enamel dots along the side of the DSP!  A great way to introduce fall!  Thanks for visiting today!

The birthday continues:

And, as promised, some beautiful cards!  This "happy" creation is from Miss Robyn, her Sunday School teacher:

and another sweet confection from Miss Sally:

and a close-up of that fun ladybug card from Miss Debbie:

Thanks, ladies!  Don't forgot to come back on Sunday for the latest Paper Players challenge, too!

CYCI132 Sweet Skunk Thanks

Happy Monday, peeps!  I have a simple card today using the Can You Case It sketch:
CYCI#132

I hadn't had a chance to use the fun Pop of Pink DSP, and I haven't played with Foxy Friends nearly enough, so I combined the two:

I loved the card that my friend Dawn created here, so I cased the diagonal stripe concept on mine!  I created the sentiment with the Labeler Alphabet and added a couple of enamel hearts, which are really cute embellishments!  The skunk is from the various elements of the Foxy Friends punch; the stripe on the his tail is just a punched piece, trimmed down.

And it isn't a skunk, but I picked up a little lady bug umbrella for Cassidy at a local yard sale....she put it to good use last week when it rained!

A certain cheery sight on a rainy day!

And the last of my birthday cards!  This fun one is from my Paper Players teamie, Joanne:

and this beautiful fun-fold card is from my friend, Wendy:

and this pretty Swirly Scribbles card from my friend Linda:

Thank you, ladies!  And have a blessed day!

CYCI128 Patriotic Clean and Simple

Happy glorious Monday, peeps!  The sun is shining, the air is cool and it's a beautiful day!  I made a very quick card today using the Can You Case It sketch:

CYCI#128
John's nephew is in the Navy reserves and is at Officer Candidate School in Quantico, Virigina.  I totally forgot that I bought these Our Daily Bread Patriotic Collection papers, so I thought these would be appropriate for a card for a guy:

I hope he's not offput by the swirls and the little enamel star, LOL!

The sentiment is from Paper Pumpkin; the stamped star is from Every Occasion, and the stitched circle is Lil'Inker!  I lined the inside with white cardstock so John & I can each write a little something to Phil to let him know we are praying for him!

The wee one is back from vacation, fresh and ready to show us her confident bike-riding abilities!  I know...no helmet, no sneakers, and she's riding one-handed!  But just look at that smug look on her face!  And NO training wheels!  I think a bigger bike might be in order come birthday time!

Enjoy your day!

CYCI127 and SSC130 You're Sublime

Happy 4th, everyone!  I have a fun little card today using (again) You're Sublime and some fun colors from Can You Case It:
CYCI#127

along with the sketch from Sunday Stamps:

And here we go!

I started out with some watercolor paper that is really crappy...but I hate to waste anything so, I am striving to make the best of it!  SU's is really the best, I just wish in came in bigger pieces!  Anyway, I stamped my submarine in Stazon and used an aquatpainter and inks in Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay and Cool Cucumber to color my image:

You can see how the image bled, even after drying it with a heat tool!  I gave the fishies and the periscope a little highlight with my white gel pen and stamped some speckles with the current Paper Pumpkin set.  I rounded the top edges with a corner punch, tore the bottom edge, added a banner sentiment and some baker's twine to finish it off.  Oh, and I added some Candy Dots too!  I mounted it all on a Bermuda Bay panel that was embossed with the Decorative Dots EF.  It's corny but cute!   Hope your day is wonderful!

Missin' this little funny face!
